  1. but that would indicate that even if the £40k fans target was reached they would pull out if no main sponsor was found. That isnt how it was set out in the appeal.Fingers crossed there is a happy ending.
  2. Anyone got news as to whether Arthur Sissis has been practising / ridden in any meetings?
  3. Looked very ropey at Foxhall but I think they were his first laps on a speedway bike for years. Not sure how his other practice went. Must be some meetings in Oz soon. If he is seriously giving it a go would have thought he was taking every possible opportunity. No news on the international section????
  4. There has to be at least one more new face for the numbers to fit.
  5. to an extent the actual conversion rate is almost irrelevant to the debate. It is the fact that it was not communicated that is the issue. Can you imagine that when football changed the offside rule if the first the fans knew about it was when the flag didnt do up in a game.
  6. thats why I put Steves name in speech marks. It wasnt meant that Adam could put 4.5 on his average in a literal sense more he could make that significant breakthrough to the next level. Cant argue with the over riding / falling needing to be eradicated but thats what learning is about.
  7. thats not what I said. Josh G and Rohan are simply a good comparison as they have very similar PL averages in 2014 and had similar 2013 averages in the EL. They are therefore an excellent example to guage the conversion rate. Under the new regs they would have very similar PL averages but Rohan would be a point and a half lower in the EL.
  8. but using the logic for the change downwards it should be applied both ways. If it is so much easier to score points in the second string position in the EL . By the new rules for example Josh G is too good to drop down if he didnt already d/u at about 6.5 His PL average 8.11. So if Rohan Tungate wants to move up - PL average 8.36 very similar to JG. In the 'old world' he did d/u in the same team as JG with a sinikar average. Had the new conversion rate been applied both ways his ne EL average would be about 6. Leaving the upward rate as was he would be about 5.
  9. So the rate change is only one way which would be better news for any PL riders looking to go Elite for the first time. So at least Poole get Brady Kurtz at a point lower than it would've been with a complete change!
  10. he could be 2015s 'Steve Worrall'I hope he is and preferably as a Witch but even if he ends up elsewhere I hope so too. British speedway needs a few more like him.
  11. arguably the best 3 pointer that was available. If the full 1-7 turns out as expected then it will likely start as one of the favourites but still a couple of ifs and maybes that could upset the applecart.
  12. the calculation is easy but only if you know the numbers to use.The new conversion rate only surfaced with the announcement of the signing of Hansen. I suppose it was a toss up as to what subject got the last sentence space. 1) The pivotal to team building revised conversion rate 2)The yellow black helmet cover return No brainer really isnt it!
  13. or if Adam feels a fresh challenge would be better for him.
  14. wouldnt that be from 2014 regs though.2015 not yet published??
  15. The division by 0.6 is the inversion of multiplying by 1.66 recurring (2014 rule) Themultiplicatuion by 1.4 is the inversion of the division by 0.71248 (2015 rule apparently) You could still quote the conversion either by way of division or multiplication but it just a case of using the simpler version.
  16. It is a puzzling change as it only benefits EL second strings looking to go PL. PL heat leaders have effectively had their EL average inflated. There are only a handfull of riders that are affected in the EL once you take our existing d/u riders who will have a valld PL average anyway. From what I can see only 1 of these is British. Why are we making it easier for Danes,Finns and Swedes to drop into the PL?
  17. It is arguably the most important change of the winter in PL terms. If a PL team chose to go for 3 EL riders they would effectively be building to 45.5 rather than 42.5 in comparison to the old conversion. Given that it shouldve been one of the main points of the statement.
  18. I think its a phrase from the original press of the signing.Very much a case of what can be written when little is known about the subject. What headline is going to be used? 1) Witches sign exciting teenager racer 2) Witches sign novice who should do ok I think Adam has done well and is only going one way -onwards and upwards.
  19. And with the new conversion rate supposedly in place at 1.40 a rider at 6 goes into the PL at just 8.40.
  20. It wasnt plus 0.6 it was Pl x 0.60 which expressed the other way would be 1.6666 recurring. Was probably expressed as 0.6 as it was simpler than the 1.6667 just as the new 1.40 is simpler than the reverse of 0.71248!
  21. Congratulations to Ritchie Hawkins joining the ranks of the married man. Wonder if he has signed any other contract this week?
  22. Would also mean if Steve Worrall wanted an EL 1-5 place he would be nearly 5.50. Not exactly in line with the fastrack ethos of helping British youngsters.
  23. there are always a few little nuggets missed out of the statement but IF this is true and the conversion rate has been changed it trumps the lot IMO.
