  1. Still no one putting anything up that contradicts my thoughts - just saying! Rather like the "let's just have one big league at Championship level" brigade that can't accept the true standard it will most likely be Only responses are name calling to deflect from the fact that they can't show I'm not right
  2. Just a bit of scrappy maths We will use your listed riders and assume 4x 8 pointers drop and you find 20 new foreigners and avoid having to use new 2 pointers So in your absolute perfect scenario it would enable an increase in team limit from my estimate if 30 to somewhere in the region of 33.5 If you make all the new foreigners 5 instead of 4 you can pretend it's 35
  3. You say "you could easily get 20" new foreigners - if you could I think you would've seen a few more already (but we haven't - probably due to costs If you need to use 28 2 or 2-3 point riders someone like Smith at the upper end of that range is very likely to be a second string even if by default
  4. See my reply to Ben91 - ots not what I would want but I see little other option I'm not anti Championship, I don't blame teams for not wanting to step up - equally no one wants the scenario I set out but it is the reality of one big league unless there is a miraculous influx of higher standard riders At the moment I see that as inevitable
  5. No I don't expect he will bit 8n one big league there will be 2 NDL 2 pointers at reserve and those such as Smith will be second strings. Team totals will need to be in the region of 30 (assuming 7 man teams retained)
  6. Look forward to the One Big League in 2027 where the likes of Jack Smith will be needed to fill Second string slots......
  7. I'd say there needs to be discussion much much earlier than mid year Ideally they need to start as part of the rearranged AGM in January
  8. Now if I was being a bit cheeky I would edit as above
  9. I suppose that depends on how reasonable (or othewise) the Championship terms were.....
  10. So you're saying they wouldve been happy if it was best for them, even if it wasn't for others and potentially not the best for the sport overall....
  11. If they weren't we wouldn't have the current problems
  12. A scintillating dozen or so posts over the 6 days since the thread was "handed back"
  13. Well I had set aside an hour to go through the deluge of posts you would expect after the big first signing announcement Now I've read all 3 and have a spare 59 minutes
  14. 4 Championship No1s isn't it plus 2 heat leaders and the RS will be a Championship 2nd string Yet a significant section of posters continue to state that without the GP stars there will be little difference between the leagues.....
  15. The Championship has already resisted anything that upsets the exact set up currently in place for 2026 Don't hold your breath that it will be any different for 2027 in terms of them working together
  16. And providing full formal apprenticeship schemes for riders and mechanics
  17. Indeed such a shame the Championship have to steal Premiership second strings to use as their No1s
  18. Finally announced what was agreed and has been an open secret sincere about August then I think the vast majority of Ipswich fans will be hugely disappointed to see him go but delighted if Dan can keep progressing I feel having the comfortable surroundings of what he obviously sees as home will help him make the next steps on the international stage A decent talent with a determined attitude and a solid professional approach so should continue to do well
  19. Assuming no change on conversion rate and home grown reduction - 3.02
