Such a shame that Edinburgh have suffered various woes this last week ahead of this match. For me this was the big test of our new found resolve bit now even a decent win wont answer all the questions. Masters and Branford out, fitness issues for Cook and Wolbert so the Monarchs can play down their chances even more than usual. Still think it will be a tight scoreline. A wins a win whether its 2 or 20 so would settle for happiness is 46-44 in this one. Certainly a potential banana skin the size of one of those they tow along behind a speedboat in the med is this one. Could be a nail biter!! Up the Witches!!

I think the whole reason the rules are as they are is to avoid the situations seen in past years where results have been amended days, weeks , even months later. That puts the onus on teams to know their stuff beforehand and not rely on hindsight once theyve lost. -

thats just the point no one initially thought any rules were broken - not Redcar not Somerset and not the referee. The mistake was only queried after which is then outside the clearly stated protest timescales. Unfortnate that it has happened but certainly not cheating as some have argued. -

can see where youre coming from but I dont think there is any specific provision for a protest from a team not involved in the match. This is likely to mean that even if you accept a protest from another team is acceptable then the same stated timescales apply - however inpractical that may be. -

As harsh as it is on Somerset the BSPA have at least applied their own rules. There is a clear section about timings of protests and this was not met. It should of course never have happened in the first place but ALL parties have some part in the responsibility for it. -
If thats not all 4 back there should never be an all 4 back decision EVER again!

Oh dear - what a silly decision!! Glad Nicki is up and ok.

Is It Time To Re-introduce Tape Touching?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to IainB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nothing wrong with the existing set up apart fron how far back from the tape some (many!) riders are. The regs do have a distance stated as a requirement (7.5cm?) but many are 4 times that back - often drawing back after the start marshall has stepped forward before creeping forward to gain advantage without touching the tape. Perhaps what is needed is a new reg whereby any rider drawing back after the start marshall has moved is punished as if the have touched the tape. -
Premier League - Too Big A Step?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to Truro Robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Non Brits coming in on 5 and 7 should not be allowed to drop below these levels (or perhaps a floor at 6 and 4 respectively) This would mean the young Brits would be be more attractive even if struggling to maintain the assessed 3. Also agree that a reduction to 2 could be considered along with a draft in the PL. -
same here - infact im sure most Boro fans would say i dont like them very much!!And TJ is a rider Id be very happy to see as a Witch in the future. Still saw it as a poor left turn move this time and personally felt he could/should have been excluded. All 4 wasnt the worst decision in the world though and probably 9/10 times would go that way.
