  1. so the 'done deal' hasn't been done after all. I have heard of 2 other interested parties but have no solid info as to how true or feasible they are.....
  2. will there be an elite league?A 2 division PL+ seems all the rage at the moment....
  3. IMO you need one of two things to consider taking over a speedway club 1 enough money that it doesn't matter if you lose it all should it not work out. 2 to be completely bonkers. Whoever fits the bill for one of those is in the running.....
  4. looks like any favours went the other way.... Redcar being off also means Karger has to stay a while longer.
  5. The Witches need to win this one for a number of reasons. The first match defeat put the team on the back foot from the start and needs to be reversed to prove we have changed not only the team set up but also the mindset. Any lingering play off hopes can only be maintained with a win. And of course we need to keep the bubbling resentment that you Scunny lot have for us Witches going! wink.
  6. The right call IMO. After a tough start Paco seemed to have turned it around and put in some creditable performances but all too soon reverted to the start of season form. As others have stated just those 4 or 5 points will turned narrow defeats into wins and make all the difference. Welcome home Jojo!
  7. Just checked 2014 final listing and Jacobs is 4.07.........
  8. I think it was Bash that had worked out that its 4.06 that we have available. Still very few options at that level. Branford is the only obvious one. Jacobs perhaps??
  9. I dont know of anyone that travels as much to follow the Witches as Baldyman so his frustrations come from first hand experience. I dont doubt that it is actually his passion for the sport and the club that drives his comments because he wants the best for both. I dont always totally agree with his thoughts but I know they will come from a genuine position and not just taking the chance to have a dig. Baldy is generally quite chilled, laid back and humerous (certainly not the miserable old git that he is currently tagged as - wink) and In sure he would prefer to be posting more positively. Hopefully he will get the chance to let out his mr happy side for the rest of the year and beyond.
  10. Some pride restored - great result! This is what we know the team can do. Lets hope its the first of many such performances before the season ends.
  11. I think its guaranteed there will be allsorts on there and that you may consider some of them to be a bit of a flump!
  12. Looking at the rain now Im glad I built that ark! Plenty of space btw ( although not for you Alan H as Id like to keep the atmosphere lighthearted)
  13. My guess is it just made the puddles warm which is fine if you fancied a paddle! Rain started again about 5 as forecast - not heavy so far but more seems to be on the way.... Friday set for wall to wall sunshine and 22°c btw...
  14. Oh well theres always next week.... hang on scrap that - see you all next month!
  15. It is due to stop by 10 but new forecast is for more thundery heavy stuff 5-6 this evening so looking very unlikely to get it on IMO
  16. Dont want you disappointed Scotsman so I will kick it off.... So which deserving young brit got the elbow to fit in the aging plastic pom? I hope that has the balance of anger and cynisism you were hoping for... wink
  17. The overnight forecast is dismal - infact i was considering spending this afternoon building an ark!! Tomorrow by mid morning should be clear (but always with the chance of further isolated downpours) so with a bit of luck missing those there should be time to sort things out. I dont think the disjointed home fixtures has helped the team. Fingers crossed its on and despite all the angst on here im sure everyone will be behind the boys come race time.
  18. So Holub sees another Brit out of a team..... Hope Newman has a speedy recovery.
  19. id say fans have every right to be unhappy about that sort of performance. I dont think anyone has doubted their effort or that they will be feeling bad about it themselves. There has been plenty of 'benefit of the doubt' given as well but eventually goodwill gets thin. We all know they are capable and just hope to see it more often - hopefully starting today.
  20. I wasnt aquainted with CardinalSin away from the forum but very sorry to hear the news. RIP
