  1. That couldve suited Ipswich better. No Sedge perhaps but someone like Batchelor or Porsing would fit for Nicos revised figure and Sarj couldve come in for Danyon if both of their figures were invoked. Instead we have effectively had to shed 2 points from the true average of our team. But we are not bleating about it. We are getting on and signing the best we can within the current rules.
  2. Fair point although the 2nd tier isnt specifically labelled as a development league. My comment was very much about a wider debate than just this situatìon. Much more about the rationale of the system.
  3. Not looking to stir the pot and playing devils advocate a bit (whilst acknowledging that IOW are hampered by the move) but..... ...is the title not actually the National Development League with the underlying reasoning of producing riders of a standard that can take opportunities at the next level?
  4. Not even covers can save a track from 'The Havelock Effect' though!! 🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿🚿 whoops too much 😛😛
  5. Ipswich apparently had extensive talks with Shanes but his other commitments at weekends wouldve meant he would miss upto 18 (yes eighteen) meetings. That would I imagine mean he would be off the Diamonds list as well.
  6. Ipswich is slightly different as there was not a single rider that had raced the set 4h 4a and the new 7 would still be under 40 before May 1st which is the date set in the regs.I do accept however that potentially even that situation could have fallen into my arguement. If so we wouldve looked elsewhere and signed Batchelor or similar. Of course we now have the opposite situation to Berwick. We have a no7 averaging 4.57 from 7 meetings who even running 7 lasts in the 8th meeting would be on 3.8 yet we can only replace with a 2.27 ptr.
  7. One of my earlier posts was actually to say I see why it has/will be allowed.Already this season it has been the case that other teams havent had adjustments. For that reason alone it shouldnt be blocked. My follow on posts have really only been in response to why I think this type of sutuation SHOULD be dealt with differently in the future. In an ideal world yes! But dont take that the wrong way - see the bit above.
  8. Not singling any team out. I agree rules are ignored all the time. Id be surprised if there is any team that hasnt benefited at some time. Doesnt make it right to keep doing it though. How many new starts with transparency and integrity are we going to have? And actually this could benefit my team. We have already won at Berwick. Another team may not as a result and could lose out on a play off place to Ipswich because of it. How would that be in the best interests of a sport aiming to be professional?
  9. The only reason he hasnt got his new higher average is due to missing meetings to ride elsewhere where the BSPA do not allow a facility. The MC should therefore not allow gain from that situation and should invoke the reg specifically written to stop such. Whether the manipulation us deliberate or accidental matters not.
  10. to paraphrase the above We've been sh!te Please feel sorry for us Give us a break 😲😛
  11. Welcome to the Witches Nathan. Whilst he hasnt so far made the progress that may have been expected you have to give him credit for continuing to give it a go at the higher levels. Probably the best choice of those available and likely to be a better option than any of the untried NL riders. Lets get behind him and give him a fair chance. 👏👍
  12. Because the limit is 40 or changes need to be like for like.Howe is higher than Carr so new declaration needs to be under 40 as not like for like. With Gapp on a 4 it fits but with his true average to date Berwick effectively building near to 42 gaining nearly 2 points.
  13. Good signing for you. Pleased to see Sarj signed up. If/when he drops to reserve he should be a real trump card.
  14. I see Sparks123 point.Scunny had part of the team awarded their new averages but those who had not completed 4h 4a maintained the original figure. The Scunny change wasnt like for like either with Nielsen on 5.5 and Wallner 4.
  15. Lots of positives now starting to show from much hard work and effort behind the scenes that often isnt noticed or recognsised. Long may it continue.
  16. All the best to Danny. Heres hoping for a full recovery.
  17. Awful to hear that is the case after all.I had got some messages via someone at the meeting who had intimated there was more too it but didnt feel it right to post as nothing official. Heres hoping for a full recovery with no long term damage.
  18. A real prospect though and one that is understandably on peoples radar
  19. Well done Cookie. Could this be the breakthrough he/we have been hoping/waiting for?
  20. Bet he wishes there had been. All the best to him. Sounds a nasty one from reports on updates site.
  21. I presumed you knew that - move to England 😀
