  1. so with JPB not having agreed to return his ban should be 28 days and the facility match that. If the facility was subsequently reduced/withdrawn then this shouldve been invoked prior to the meeting upon Pboros legitimate protest. If the protest them was turned down it should then become 'a matter of fact' whether right or wrong Note - lots of shoulds and of course that nobody so far has confirmed a timeline for any part of the saga which means all comments are effectively p!$$ing in the wind
  2. Thats a refreshingly pragmatic response 👍 Keeping a 40 point limit all season was just plain daft though. A team averaging 40 will definitely be a bottom end team. Initially the regs indicated it would be 42 after the first revised averages which would at least set it at the norm level. Quite why it was felt sensible to only apply this in the Prem in the end is anybodys guess. 😕
  3. Greaves 'issues' (if he is having any) may well be as much mechanical as anything else. Unexpected servicing and a blow up of his 2 GTRs must put a strain on the finances. There was a bucket collection this week at Ipswich to help fund replacement.
  4. Pboro didnt cheat with the change. It is a poorly witten/administered regulation but Pboro are not to blame for that. feel free to continue to have a pop at my choice of words -I have broad shoulders. Perhaps you could actually add to the debate instead but thats your choice. I have also clarified my respect for Neils knowledge which is genuine. I have no gripe with Neil (never met him) and no comment has been degrogatory to him personally. Nowhere have I said Pboro are in the wrong to protest or made any snidey comment regarding it.
  5. This is where speedway shoots itself in the foot. The length of the ban should just be a matter of fact. Sheffield should have in writing a formal notification from the ruling committee. There should be nothing to query. Also the regs are in this case recently (2/3 years ago) reworked to try to avoid post match changes. It is very clear the intention is for these decisions to be pre match and final. Neil has highlighted the one part of the regs where there could be a challenge in this case. 👍 From that I would say this case depends on whether the decision to grant the facility was made with the full knowledge of JPBs riding intentions and whether these changed breaking the terms on which the facility was granted. Of course Sheffield could argue even if his intentions changed which would break the terms of the facility this would be beyond their control. It would be the same ruling committee allowing him to ride outside the original terms and not Sheffield.
  6. damn - knew I shouldve just put 'insert year' 👍
  7. That could make some sense. Did the piece say when the protest was made? Was it prior to the meeting in line with the set timescales? If so Shanes should not have been allowed to ride if that was decided to be the correct position. If the protest wasn't within the required timescale then it shouldn't be successful even if Shanes was illegal
  8. Used the word potentially as it depends when the rider is announced. The protest has to be made in specific timescales. It could be hours before the meeting but only if a change is made on the day. No intention at a snidey remark about Neil (note the smiley). Infact I fully respect his knowledge as he is invariably correct with his information particularly about the regulations. So quite the opposite.
  9. Dont see there is any grounds for it at first thought. All team line up protests have to be made potentially days prior to the meeting start. I await Neil to inform us of reg 201.35 sub section 4 paragraph 3 that New Cross used in 1955 for a similar successful protest 😛
  10. Agree with that - an effective 36 total was a huge downgrade. At least with a revised 42 limit it sets the total around the average new totals with all riders getting new figures. In the Championship it stays at 40 all season which is just plain daft.
  11. The over 12 averages didnt matter as it was all relative. Couldve had averages that werent inflated but the limit wouldve been 36ish Either way each rider would be the same proportion of the total.
  12. If he wants it. Think he rides a fair bit on the continent at weekends. Long term experience of that type may well be better than a 2nd tier UK spot. Agree he would be a bargain signing though.
  13. Greaves is far from rubbish. He has done a superb job at Ipswich aveaging nearly 5. Has applied himself with a first class attitude and produced over and above expectations.
  14. and bears s#!t in the woods Looks like your no1 was class as well 😜
  15. Cook Campton Proctor Jorgensen and Sarj all made a genuine pass of a home rider at some point. Williamson got 2 2nds which away from home and in a top5 position is creditable and Shuttleworth was not off the pace. The Witches were just very very good and determined on the night.
  16. Foxhall hosts a big stock car speed weekend next week so no Witches home meeting on Thursday
  17. Sedgman not an option as you can only have 2 d/u from another team. You already now have 2 Witches....
  18. nah theres no way the Witches will hit 60 😛 Hope we give it a good go. Agree with Blu that Glasgow are unlikely to get beat at home all season. A point would be a great job done.
  19. we have battered most teams at Foxhall this year but none of the other meetings have been like this one. Well done to the Comets for playing their part despite not getting the points return. They nearly all got in the mix unlike some other oppisition.
  20. Peterborough will rack up close to 60 and paper over any cracks for at least another week
  21. was superb tonight - kept his head and held his position despite huge pressure from Cook in 15 to get his max 👍👏
