  1. The only scenario that stops 2027 being one big league is a miracle in securing sponsorship/TV deal that enables a top division to be viable attracting the tier of riders just outside those aiming for GP qualification I agree that it is not feasible to compete financially with Poland for the top stars even if a superb deal is found But one big league won't be the panacea many think and hope it would be due to the excessive doubling up - hence why the retention of a Premiership is vital to the Championship in its current form There will always be the haves and have not even in that scenario and the overall product (certainly initially) will possibly be less palatable to more than just the existing Premiership teams If the one league structure doesn't come in then doubling up must be restricted and reduced year on year with the aim of eradication in a short period That would likely mean a significant weakening of the 2nd tier which again may meet resistance in certain quarters but would be just as entitled and selfish as those being called so now Tough and saddening times
  2. I call BS on any standard Championship league meeting attracting 3k - if they were finances would be no issue You say virtually all get 600 - which in itself implies that some are not which backs up my point! I promise you I am far from entitled - there is still a possibility of Ipswich not running and even if they did I would have the same basic principle to my view I will say that perhaps I am being a little abrasive and provocative in pushing an opinion to the limit in order to invite some to examine their views which lack basic reality (eg one big league at Current Championship standard)
  3. So if the Championship get the one home leg who pays the Premiership team?? The Championship won't agree to anything with a financial risk to their set up Then you have the doubling up and who rides for who when the inevitable clash happens
  4. He would though be he has the talent and the class....
  5. Think you have misread my sentiment - the last thing I want is for any club at any level to fail The success at Ipswich isn't just down to finances although accepted it doesn't hurt As for the "official attendance figures" indeed there are none from anyone but we have all been around long enough and see enough posted on here to have a good idea - I stand by my estimates, just as I do in my thread about why the Championship needs a Premiership I have no doubt we will see the one big league next year and it will be at a level way below the current Championship standard Be careful what you wish for or you may be looking at only 300 turning up instead of the busting at the seams 400.....
  6. Indeed they do - because as you say they are in thd lower leagues The Premiership is the top league, the pinnacle of domestic Speedway If the height of ambition is to be white van man deliveries by day and Soeedway hero by night we may as well just pack up and lock the gates
  7. It should be as it would total 55+ Stick to your South Coast small pond bully boys without the balls to take on the big boys
  8. But all the Championship promoters are giving them a standing ovation because without this they were F@cked
  9. If so will that change the position re the sale of Ipswich The reason for sale was given, at least in part, to not being prepared to race in a 5 team Premiership If it is 5 not including Ipswich could it prompt a U turn from Chris?? I'm not convinced that's going to happen Still more questions than answers at this stage
  10. Food for thought The attendances for just the 2 play meetings at Ipswich in 2025 were greater than a number of Championship clubs achieved for their whole season combined Perhaps if a few more were able to "bow down to the Ipswich way" the sport would be in a much healthier position....
  11. Don't forget that the top 6 of each of these 5 teams will be at least at or around the standard of the Championship heat leaders This means that almost every heat in the Premiership will be similar to Championship heats 13 and 15 But of course the Championship is the best place to be......

  13. There is no league at "Championship standard" without a Premiership One big league becomes a NDL+ with around a 30/32 limit instead of the current 40 The alternative in order to kerp the level similar is to close 4-5 clubs What would you choose??
  14. You will have the usual suspects on to you for this You can't just estimate figures, however accurate they may be,it doesn't satisfy them Please provide either receipts, copy draft contracts or copies of conversation transcripts
  15. I've changed my mind and now believe all the figures are 100% correct I've just undertaken a similar search and the response to "how much does a Premiership/Championship speedway rider earn" almost exactly matched those I estimated in my thread on why the Championship needs the Premiership Infact I'm now convinced the AI response must have used my post as its source
  16. Good research - some interesting figures Not sure it makes sense to have a category that is Motorsports (F1 and bikes) but this not including speedway Speedways 200k figure seems low - would that be around 600 average per meeting? Given for every other sport included all and everything that would include GP and World Cups etc for Speedway So these at 10-12k , Ipswich at 25k+ and the other Premiership at about double that average that would leave only about 70k attending all Championship matches That would mean the super success model of the 2nd tier achieving only about 350-400 average attendances - even I can't believe that is the case.....
  17. No doubt he will be in the top league in 2027 - will certainty be a heat leader in one big league, possibly a number 1
  18. So your choice would be to close down 5 clubs then...... Classy Perfect username though
  19. All signing are subject to approval If there is a big shake down and it ends as one big league it's quite simple They are not guaranteed to be approved New limits etc will be set Personally I expect it to still be Premiership and Championship in 2026 with the merger taking place in 2027 unless there is a miracle influx of financial support
  20. I'd say we are actually looking at 5 steps back right now with the prospect of 2 forward again not guaranteed.....
