Swindon V Rye House Thursday 20th July Sgbp
A ORLOV replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We had some rain early this morning but now it is dry and bright and the sun is due out later, so the weather should be good for the meeting. We have won our last 6 meetings and this should be a good one, so if the fans can get behind the team and a lot of noise would be good. This could be good practice for when that mob from Dorset turn up for another thrashing next thursday. -

I will admit that I had read the report about the Poole meeting just before, again, and enjoyed it. The team balance now seems a lot better Sidney. Since we signed David as a proper Robin at the end of June he has improved his scoring, and Tobi has hit the ground running since his arrival and improved since. -

Poole will drop to 4th place in league and get into the playoffs. They had better make the most of it as unless there are massive changes there is a possibility they will not be there in 2018. -

Great and well deserved result, as usual there is one complete idiot for Poole posting complete crap on here. The robins are now a lot stronger with Tobi, thanks Wolves, and with 2 away wins already this week we have a home meeting with the prospect of more points tomorrow, then this lot come to Blunsdon a week thurs. I hope they improve a bit or the meeting will not be worth going to. We are 4th in the league now and should overtake Poole tomorrow, then start pulling away from them . Great scores from all the team and the rider of the night must be David Bellego, but the whole team need praising. -

It needed a lot of shale because the track for the Dirkquake the week before looked like mud and it had loads of stones on it. -
As Gresham states something like the size of Cardiff, but they seem to keep changing their mind as originally it was going to be like the track at Birmingham. What I did see at the back of the pits was a new airfence for the "new stadium" which is being installed and tested on the present track, so just check how much of the airfence is new and how much is the old airfence and that will give an indication of size.

I fully agree with is, and also these conditions being imposed by Poland, but until the riders turn round and tell the clubs what to do with their restrictive contracts it will continue. If all the top riders refused to sign the Polish contracts or the next D Ward when starting out refused to sign the contract re becoming an asset, the contracts would soon be changed. -

No, but many of the top riders need to refuse to sign next years contract to make them see sense. It would then be up to the clubs to defy whoever is imposing this condition if they want the top riders to ride in Poland. I was self employed at one point and along with many others crossed out a section of a new contract sent out by the organisation we all worked with. Because all the top people crossed out the section before returning the contract the organisation had to remove it and re send out new acceptable contracts. -

I have no idea if Polish law does not allow restraint of trade. If the rider does not like the restriction he has two choices, cross that bit out of the contract before signing or don't sign the contract. The rider cannot force the club to give him a contract to ride. It is not the club issuing this condition of number of leagues it is the Polish Authorities. If the rider thinks it is a restraint of trade he can take the authority to court. -

Remember they are not employees so restraint of trade is not applicable. What is applicable is the conditions imposed by the polish clubs. It is up to the rider to accept or reject the Polish conditions, then for the club to engage them or not. The rider might then try to sue because the club is restricting what the rider can do but the club would just not employ them. The best action would be for the top riders in the world to sign for a Polish club but cross out any part of the contract that stops them riding elsewhere, or just not ride in Poland. -

It is a restraint of trade, but as the riders are self employed it is up to them to accept the terms or not. It is up to the Polish club who they offer a contract to and the rider to accept or reject the terms offered. If no rider refuses to ride in Poland because of this the Poles condition will do what they want. -

Because if he does not already have to have a visa for each country he rides in, when we leave the eu a visa for the UK will not allow him to work in Poland, the same as all the UK riders who will have to apply for eu work Visas -

He may have to apply for one for Poland and wherever else he rides as he will have to when we leave the eu. -
Great idea, have RW as number 1, he cannot do any worse than KK.
