Poole racing at Oxford or doing a track share with Swindon in their multi million pence, brand new stadium.
Starman has been very quiet recently, is he busy learning to drive a coach to get the fans from Poole to the new track.
But it is often a lot more than two minutes by the time the riders have stopped at the pits to adjust something, add fuel and cool down the clutch.
The rules need to include that the pit gates are not to be opened and no mechanics allowed on the track for a start infringement restart.
The ref should have a 1 minute option that he presses immediately after pressing the red light button following a restart, also if the cause of the restart is behind the other riders at bend one let the race continue.
But one day the "owner" of the "asset" will not want or agree to a rider riding for a certain club, then the fun will start, which is why this "asset" business is a joke.
I wonder about this. I have been pointing out for a while that if your own team is up against a bad team or one full of guests how many will stay at home and watch whoever is on the tv.
Thanks, have already earmarked Mildura, Kurri Kurri, Gillman etc and check them, but there may be others. Will earmark the one you have mentioned as well.
I have looked at the Motorcycling Australia website for dates of all Australian meetings but there are none listed, is there a better speedway website that shows most speedway meeting dates ?
Years ago riders had fan clubs, part of which had events etc to raise money for riders. Now the top riders probably do not need the money but the reserves and certain riders need every penny they can get, so as well as going out to get sponsors maybe they should look to setting them up again. A few hundred fans paying a few pounds a month would help up and coming riders.
If Swindon wanted him in 2018 there would be nothing wrong in them offering him or any other rider a fixed basic payment each week and then a bonus if they score more than a certain number of points. A bigger issue is the cost of equipment if, like BWD, they blow up a few engines and are not able to make much in points money.
If he does leave the sport I wish him well.
Are the green sheet averages shown on the bspa website, issue 35, the final for 2017 as they are dated 28.9.17 or are the final averages for 2017 listed elsewhere ?
They wanted to get away from all the setting up costs for meetings, some of which were rained off etc, so I believe as they had a contract still running they were happy to pay the clubs the agreed amounts with BT picking up the setting up costs. So Sky got out of a costly contract and BT got a sport cheaper than it would have normally cost.
