Well I hope they do something about all the time wasting, especially after a tape restart, or in the case of Kings Lynn the time the tractor goes round .
-
If it turns out to be as boring as Formular E for racing cars the sport would die in less than one season, also the noise is part of the sport.
-
I would not rely on any pictures given out as they are clearly not right.

World Championship Pairs
A ORLOV replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Or the scoring for the final could be 3,2,1,1 which would get round the 2nd and 3rd just sitting there and blocking out the 4th rider. -
With all riders having to be taller than him that will not restrict many

What has this got to do with Swindon
-
Yes they might, but when it is cold or wet fans will get fed up attending dragged out meetings and will stop going so less will be there spending money. Some will even get fed up on a warm evening continually watching dragged out meetings, with more tractor racing than bikes.

You hope

They have realised how boring it is

Apart from the tv company itself I cannot think of any existing club or rider sponsor that would benefit from much, if at all, more tv coverage by being a league sponsor. You need a large company who might benefit, but the return from the fan base and tv audience would not warrent major advertising.
-
The club management need to put a stop to all the time wasting otherwise the teams will be riding with very few paying fans watching, especially when it is cold in March, April and September.
-
There was also a comment made today on the sports news that sky had also had a lot of customers jack in there football channels as well.
-
If we do get this new one that will be good, but am just wanting to see something happen as to date all we have had is a lot of bull crap and excuses as to why no progress is taking place. The above comments about holding the World Cup is an example of the bull crap mentioned.
-
I was at a meeting where some of the management stated, when the stadium was first muted, that they would want to have big meetings there starting with the Speedway World Cup, well with a capacity cut to 3500 and this level of parking they have no chance. I remember the great days when we had approx 15,000 at Blunsdon for a test match against USA. If more than three coaches turn up they will have to drop fans off and go and find somewhere else to park.
-
That is exactly the point I have been making since the parking numbers and "extra parking solutions" were first seen in the plans years ago. In fact if we get the sort of numbers we normally get from Poole, especially if they manage to get to the playoffs to meet us, the best thing they should do is get a coach from Poole.
-
This has been commented on for years since they first announced the car park capacity, they have a possible extra car park 1.5 to 2 KL away from the track and they have suggested that fans also use the town centre car parks and then get a bus to the track. I can see many fans using the new housing estate surrounding the stadium being used for parking.

And being allowed to drive.

That is my understanding from reports that have been published in the press as this will also allow the main stand to be built on what is now the back straight while the existing one is still in use as they cannot stop the dog racing for a long period.
-
This does seem daft if it does only affect a couple of riders. The one thing these riders can bring to the clubs is the knowledge, experience and set up information for the new riders to the Championship. This rule may affect all Premier riders in the future but for now let them ride.
-
They could create the new shaped track by March as they would not need planning permission for that, if they started soon. That would be easier than trying to do it mid season with all the banking required. Anyone who goes to dogs or looks at the track from the road bridge over the A419 could spot any work being done, unless this is another load of bs.
-
Would be great if they rode it round the track before the meeting.
-
Since quite a few have stated that they do not smell it they have obviously cut down on whatever created the smell, and I am often in the pits when they are warming up the bikes, so I would not put it down to your sense of smell. You could originally smell it all round the track. Next March I will stand right next to the exhaust and see if I can get a wiff of the old smell.
