Would love to see the test matches back, but one problem is trying to get available riders with their commitments in the different leagues and countries they now ride in. If they started with U21 the riders might be more eager and available, but the fans would need to show support so that they pay the track and the organisations.

Your meetings could be fun

It is not all follow the leader racing at Swindon, there is plenty of overtaking. They are looking to shorten the straights, if it ever happens, which some think it will make better racing. I am unsure and hope we do not end up with a track like Somerset which can be ridden as a circle. It needs to have wide bends and slightly longer straights than Somerset which should allow different racing lines. Swindon has a track 63 mtrs longer than Somerset and 13 mtrs longer than BV so subject to the width it can be shortened but still have a decent straight.

Exactly, kevlars are an item of safety clothing just like the back, neck protectors and boots and bought by the rider unless the team want a team uniform in which case the team should then pay. The payment to the rider should cover items of clothing as it often does van and mechanic etc.

That is the logic of the bspa, they have not got a clue.

With this as the opposition we will not need to worry about the Poundland Pirates

And how much was the entry charge ? I cannot remember which tv meeting it was but one club did not reduce the entry charge and the stadium appeared to be almost empty. If it was £10 like many tv matches that would be a reason for the size, and if £10 normally the crowds might return until they get bored with all the guests and delays.

Yes I know, he could ride any line and often shepparded others around the track, inside or outside he was able to beat anyone at the Abbey. Still do not agree that Crumpie was better.
-
Crump only won more titles because Leigh was not ruthless enough in tight situations. He would never deliberately carve up another rider which might end up with a long injury. In many cases when they raced both riders were probably fairly equal on skill and riding ability.
-
I cannot recall the usual hype from S Shovler about this team either recently, unless he has changed his name to Matt Ford Fan or poolebolton, maybe he is concerned about the team lineup.
-
The reason for tv viewers varies. Some can only go to home meetings so watching an away meeting of their team on tv is great, how many from the South can or want to travel to BV on a mid week night. Some will watch home meetings on tv if the weather is iffy and or they have a long journey to the track. Some will watch on tv if the meeting is going to be one sided. The trouble with most clubs racing on the same night is that some of the fans will stay at home to watch a better meeting on the tv.
-
I would prefer it if the meetings were speeded up rather than drop two heats, and if a second half if possible and financially viable then fans can decide to leave or stay. Look how many complain about the delays at Kings Lynn.
-
They might be if there is a last heat decider but it is pointless when the meeting has been won, it just gives more people the option to leave before others to get out of the car park but if it is very cold fans just get fed up.
-
Hearing from one manager that there are now a few issues cropping up re wednesday nights with foreign teams having more wed meetings which might concern certain clubs.

Because some Poole fans tell us so
-
If they do wear last years race suits with stars and rebels colours with just a Poole Bib that will be interesting.
-
Also note that when sky turned up there were two vehicles, one preparing, cooking and serving the food and a second with seats and tables for them to use as a canteen.
-
Hope not as the delays, for whever reason, apart from accidents or a busted airbag, are causing quite a few fans to question going, especially when it is cold.
-
Great as it will save a lot of restarts and stop fans getting pi##ed off.
-
What ruling is that then ?

A few posts back on this page is the link to the planning details etc where the objections are.
-
I see the objections are from the developer who feels that they will have issues selling more houses next to the stadium. The comments about the removal of the "so called buffer" of light industrial units to act as a noise suppressor is a strange argument as a request for a change to build more houses instead of the original proposed units was made over a year ago by, the developer or Stadia UK. The issue of any new or use of the current stadium will be a good point to bring up at the fans forum
-
Has anyone got the link to the new planning application ?

A meal is available for the staff at about 6pm because they are at the track till about 11pm, I am not sure, as I am not at the track midday, if the catering also provides a lunch as well for all the crew who are on site all day as they have to set up the towers, cables around the stadium etc. But to travel from their base and provide a choice of hot food for the number of people there are, £1000 seems a reasonable price.

A fair number of people drive 300 miles a day so electric power for them is no good but those just going to work or the shops can use battery power, I did mention this. Is it 300 miles if you drive like a granny, the way that many manufacturers claimed mpg figures in the past or 300 if you drive at 70mph or a lot of town driving with a lot of braking and accelaration, ie a London taxi. In fact a London taxi use would be a good test for time and length of usage. The only problem with taxis are that many are not kept in a garage or off the road overnight so recharging is not possible.
