After spending thousands on consultants and carrying out fans surveys at every track they are going to change the colour of the TS helmet cover.

01/08/2018 : Somerset v Swindon : Premiership
A ORLOV replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Always used to pop down to the the chip shop on the edge of Highbridge before the meeting then ate them in the Oaktree car park, the chips etc were better and cheaper. One way to stop being ripped off by the stadium chippy is not to use it, especially when there is an alternative near by. -
If that is the case then he only has 10 days to get signed up

The local mp has tweeted again that meetings are taking place to make sure it does happen, but I will only believe it when I see the new stand going in and bikes racing.

Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018

No club owns a rider they are self employed who agree to ride for the club. The club controls the riders licence because the riders sign a contract allowing that to happen. -
August 12th effective Aug 15th.

Swindon back to winning ways but not a great meeting to watch, with very little overtaking after the first couple of bends. Nick had another fall and it seems he may miss the trip to Somerset. It was good to get the three point win and the points were shared between the riders with Zach getting extra rides due to tape exclusions etc and scoring an impressive 11+2, and Troy a good 11 point return. Although we won the team need to up their performance slightly both when on the road and against a couple of the teams due to visit Blunsdon.

New shale has been put on the track and a lot of work has been done so it should lead to good racing.

The trouble with quite a few is where towns are expanding a track that used to be on the outside of the town is now part of the town with houses round it, which is what is happening at Swindon. I appreciate Poole and Exeter were in the towns already.

Never bank on anything if Stadia are involved

Others will also start Swindon threads as you will find out

Mostly dry tomorrow so the rain we had this morning should have soaked into the track and done it some good.

2019 One big league will it happen.?
A ORLOV replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would say slightly more than the numbers you state, and the crowd is holding up ok. It is noticeable that there is a slight drop for certain opposition. I would imagine tomorrow against Wolves should get a good turnout -

It does seem very short sighted to only have four meetings during the holidays as more children will go and also, even in the KL area, when I lived there there were plenty of holiday makers not too far away from KL who might attend. -
When posting rubbish like this why be surprised

Meeting details with correct rider line up as per the club http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.3151 Swindon Nick Morris, David Bellego, Adam Ellis, Tobiasz Musielak, Troy Batchelor, Zach Wajtknecht, Jack Smith Wolves Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Rory Schlein, Cameron Heeps, Nathan Greaves Edit Wolves have confirmed that Tom Bacon replaces Nathan Greaves following his crash on friday. Swindon can win this one if none of them fall off and come away with 3 points, and just hope the track staff have had time to lay new shale.

Get the impression that those two plus one or two more are reasonably astute business people so they should have seen what was happening and led the rest, the sheep can always follow or die by the side. It is possible that there were not enough to make a top league viable, which is why I can see one main league of the PL and CL teams with reduced costs and possibly riders in the team. Maybe T R is aware which is why he has signed riders in the last couple of years and Matt, not being able to get the squad system accepted, is getting out. -

It is noticeable that the time when crowds are down at Swindon is when the opposition is not that good or the weather is iffy. Fans are picking and choosing the meetings they go to and as I predicted if there is a good meeting on tv people are staying at home to watch it. We had some meetings scheduled for wednesdays but now apart from the meeting against Leicester they have been moved to thurs or mon. It will be interesting to see what the crowd is like for a wed night when Leicester visit. -

In that case the likes of Matt and T Russell should not have allowed it to go to pot in the past. Maybe the way things are going is why Swindon have been buying up certain riders. -

It seems to be the case that at least one in the Premier might not be far off that or dropping to the CL as well, mainly to do with awful fan numbers attending on a monday night, now some of this is due to habit of running on a different night and some is due to being able to sit down on a monday and watch speedway on the tv.
