As in a lot of major cities if you eat or drink in the tourist traps you will pay through the nose. Prague is not expensive at all if you drink and eat where the locals do, sometimes this can be only a couple of min walk from the main areas. -
It does seem that the days of buying up riders which become assets may be coming to an end. The riders ride where they are treated well, and some from Europe just ride in the uk for a couple of years then stay away from the uk. If the wage payments in the rest of Europe do start dropping some may come back, but probably only if the uk races on one or two nights a week only, or as part of a squad type system. There may be a reason that clubs purchase riders but I cannot see major benefits. Just imagine if a club who paid a lot of money for a young foreign rider, only for that rider to be injured and stay in his home country, or decide only to ride in Poland after riding in the uk for only one season. Hopefully Nick will want to return to Swindon in 2013 along with others.

Green sheet averages(final) published 31 10 12. I assume these are the EL averages that are used for 2013. Hans 8.18 Troy 7.94 Peter 6.98 Jason 6.50 Nick 5.78 Simon 5.75 Lasse 4.83 Seb 4.82 Frank 4.58 Robin 3.86 Zengi 5.57 Talk so far seems to put the 2013 limit at 42.5, Will have to wait for AGM for confirmation of limit, 2013 d/u rules, and what discount if any will be allowed for British riders. Just a few permutations based on 42.5 Hans 8.18 Peter 6.98 Jason 6.50 d/u Simon 5.75 Nick 5.78 d/u Seb 4.82 Zengi 5.57 Frank 4.58 Robin 3.86 Total 41.45 If you replace Hans with Troy the Total is 41.21 If you keep Hans and Troy and not Zengi then Frank will not fit as the Total is 38.24 which leaves 4.26 Until it is known which riders want to d/u and with which PL teams, the d/u riders choice is difficult. Also which clubs/nights the foreign riders race on. This line added later

It was mentioned on the radio tonight that MJJ is unlikely to return in 2013. Will have to wait and see what happens

And most of those posts from members who support a team from Dorset.
-
We had the same at Swindon and some did point that out. For whatever reason both Mads and Magic were a bit inconsistent. Mads seems to have improved with your team, and Magic on his day is brilliant, but he seems to have meetings where he is not quite with it, but he is young and should improve.
-
A move to the PL as they may do better in the PL with their 2012 EL riders. Then NKI can stay with Kings Lynn.
-
Robin and Seb could be used fpr away matches when not on a thursday, or at home when monday is used, if they want and are able to be a d/u rider. Because of their racing in Sweden it is a problem to have them in the main team and d/u is the next best option..
-
Seb Alden tonight scored 3,3,3,3,3 and Robin Aspegren 3,1,2+1,3. Both should be considered for 2013.
-
Agree Bavarian, the home team should only be seeded into the race off. This would get the local crowd attending and from this meeting the top two on merit go through.
-
Michael JJ is seriously thinking about a return to the UK next year. The reason mentioned is the continual pestering on the phone and stalking by a besotted Peterborough fan has forced him to consider not riding in the UK in 2013.
-
Simon did have a bad time which through the year was getting worse, but all was sorted and I, and I am sure quite a few, would welcome him back next year preferably as a d/u rider as he wants more meetings. Just look at his results at Poole Ist meeting 2,0,1,0, at no 3 2nd. 2,0,0, at reserve EL Final 3,1,3,1, at no 2, which was after engine problems sorted.
-
I think he can as he has continually been in the PL for the last couple of years. A rule change at the AGM might change the situation though.
-
Not the same "hat" used for the KOC hopefully.
-
Hans 20K about right Troy 35K about right MJJ 150K over valued should be nearer 15K
-
With the averages at the end of this year we need to reduce the team by approx 5 or 6 points to get to 41 or 42. Edit After checking averages we only need to reduce by 4 or 5 points.
-
But both Simon and Jason want to d/u so Seb can also be used as d/u which gives more options.
-
If the team limit only goes up a bit it will be very difficult to keep both Hans and Batch without ripping the team apart.
-
Killer would a great start, but I would add Hans. Then Nick, Jason and Simon as D/U riders which I think will help both them and the team as has been shown by the improvement in Nick since he went PL. Both Jason and Simon have said that they need more rides than an EL place gives them. I agree with the inclusion of Seb as he has proved what he can do, and also Robin. Hans Frank Seb Robin D/U Jason D/U Nick D/U Simon It may be that either Seb or Robin may also prefer to D/U and Nick wants to move into the main team only. I just hope that the team limit is raised or something like a dual number 1 rider system in some form is set up, then Swindon can keep the bulk of the best team this year, the 2012 League Champions.
-
Good report in the Adver today. Jason has described the move to Swindon as the best move of his career, and if the rules allow he wishes to return in 2013. This is fantastic news and I am sure welcomed by all the Swindon fans if it happens.

I asked at the start of this thread as to which riders were invited as it seems to be the top two from the clubs at the top of the league and one from the clubs at the bottom and not the 16 riders with the top averages, but no one has answered and given the selection criteria for this meeting. -

The upkeep of the stadium is down to the owners who then rent the usage to the speedway club for days the meetings are held. There is a possibility of a brand new stadium in the not too distant future if that area is redeveloped. -
If they are both on at the same time it should be interesting.
