He also met up with a group of Swindon supporters in Denmark when we had a trip to the GP. Very friendly individual.

There was a group of Poles that used to come to Swindon when we had a Polish rider but when he went so did they. -
Elite League Draft Riders

The statement put out by the bspa does not but I think one of the promoters stated that it would be NL riders from previous seasons. -

pandorum I posted in the elite league section about positions 2 and 4 probably having to be for the riders with the lowest averages, which as you say does restrain team order. -
If the reserves race each other and then the second strings, one change from this year may need to be that the two second strings will probably have to be the riders with the lowest averages, so the riders in positions 2 and 4 will have to be those riders and unlike this year those two riders cannot be moved about. This is also allows more races with just the heat leaders.

That statement does not say that and others are indicating they have two rides against the opposition reserves, then 2 against the opposition second strings, which would give them 4 rides, the same number of races as reserves have now in a 15 heat meeting. Unless they change the number of heats in a meeting each rider has 4 rides and 2 have 5. -
They should have asked Cook to put out the press release as the release put out by the bspa office could have been a lot clearer.

You get then to run the first lap, those at the back hearing a bike on lap two coming round would soon get fit, or needing a change of underwear.

You will have to keep an eye out for any expansion in European Championship meetings, also on Saturdays. -
It will be good to see Peter Toogood back at the Abbey.

arthur, I agree with many of your points and have posted on AGM thread about exactly what you are pointing out re the number of riders needed to cover injuries and the number of meetings for NL riders, many of who have jobs as do their mechanics/dads. -

I see the BSPA website already has Leicester in the list of EL teams, welcome to the EL. -

I would imagine the majority of NL riders have jobs as do their mechanics/parents. Those riders who are drafted into the EL reserve positions will then have to ride another 36 meetings in a season in addition to their NL meetings and for some of them PL meetings as well. The money they will need to be paid will have to replace their income, pay for the mechanic and provide for better or extra equipment. This should be cheaper than flying in foreign riders and it is good that young Brits are given this opportunity but will 20+ riders be able to commit to this number of meetings. If it is the case that certain PL riders will be included this would ease the burden on the NL -
Reading what Matt Ford has said they will be able to use NL and certain PL riders as reserves.

Any sensible organisation would have ironed out most of these possible problems before announcing them. -

I think you may find it is two races between the reserves and two with a second string rider against the same from the opposition. That would give the reserves 4 rides as now. -
If you go with that 5 can Swindon have Kyle Howarth again.

Very good point Vince, that would help British PL riders and good NL riders who are limited in numbers. Also it gets round any EU rules that most other countries ignore anyway. -

The team could be interesting when PL and NL meetings clash with the EL meeting. With d/u from the PL and two reserves from the NL, add to that one or both NL riders being injured or a 1 - 5 rider not available or injured during the meeting. Who will take the rides if rr is one of your lowest 2 averaged riders More interesting is who will be the first NL rider to beat an opposition Number 1. -

The report in one local newspaper gives the impression that possibly NL riders from this or last year may be eligible for this EL reserve position. Will need to wait for more details from BSPA or list of eligible riders. -
Comment in the Bournmouth Echo in report about AGM by Matt Ford " Rosco has applied for Team GB Manager job."
-
Frost may own their contracts and not Peterborough or they may be taken over by the BSPA from Peterborough if no one takes over the club, any way lets see which way Rosco goes. Bit ironic about Peterborough but have recently signed a contract with a company who I saw today are using Readypower machinery.

Could have Hans or Batch in place of Killer Matt but two points, one we would have to pay a loan fee to someone for either of those two and two, Killer has improved each season.

If the NL riders ride in the EL they are going to need a lot more money as possibly riding up to 4 times a week stops them from having jobs outside of speedway which helps them pay for their equipment, mechanics etc. They will need more than one bike with all this racing. If they also ride in the PL the costs get higher. It may mean more EL clubs set up NL teams if for example a Swindon NL rider can ride for Swindon in the EL, which would be good rather than something like a Kent Kings rider who d/u with Workington is allocated to ride for BV. Are there enough riders to ride at more NL clubs, and if more are set up it means more meetings and expense for the riders. -
Peter Kildemand 8.25 Jason Doyle 7.30 Nick Morris 5.90 21.45 leaves 10.55 for two riders These two would fit Mads 6.97 28.42 Ashley Birks 3.06 31.48 or a rider up to 3.58. Not sure if Ashley will be fit by March. There are a few Peterborough riders who could fit if Mads wanted to stay at KL but would this mean we gain the village idiot as a team supporter. There are only 10 NL clubs, it will be interesting to see who gets who. Darryl Ritchings is a Swindon asset but probably not ready yet.
