  1. At Swindon recently we had a delayed start due to rain and more rain was due later in the evening. The ref got the meeting going and on a few occasions the riders came out before the last of the riders from the preceding heat had left the track. Also on a restart due to an unsatisfactory start the riders were not allowed back into the pits. For a restart due to unsatisfactory start the two mins should be put on a couple of seconds after the red light. Meetings can be run quickly, even allowing time for rr and accidents if all the other pi##ing about and delays between races are got rid of. I was speaking to one ref and they recon that the two min clock on the centre green can also delay meetings as riders will muck about at the start right up to the limit of the time allowed. The start marshall should have the power to stop all the gardening and delays at the start if all four riders are at the start etc.
  2. Agreed we do not want them injured while riding for someone else or knackered.
  3. He was the best rider for Lakeside at Swindon on thurs as well and looked good.
  4. Yes Matt was not fast enough and was beaten by Coventry
  5. Would like that as Swindon have beaten KL both times on agg this year. Also Swindon is my home team but used to live in KL so they would be my choice if we are not in it.
  6. Now bright sunshine over Swindon, but a depression has arrived in the Poole area.
  7. Have had light drizzle for about an hour which should stop soon, due a bit more between 4 and 5pm then dry
  8. Swindon are likely to win all their remaining home meetings.
  9. Good result for the robins, and with a bit of luck it could have been more than the one point. Switching Nick and Dak worked well and Batch put in a very good score. Simon does not seem to like that track and what a strange decision by the ref re Peter in heat 11. There are still too many pessimistic posters who predicted no points for the robins from this meeting.
  10. Rosco has altered the team line up tonight moving Nick to 2 and Dak to 4. He feels this makes the robins stronger with the improvement in the performance of Dak. If Peter can stay on his bike the robins should come away with at least one point.
  11. Lakeside team for thurs D Watt C Cook (G) L Bridger K Howarth (G) D King P Starke B Morley
  12. The above has now been changed. According to Swindon and BSPA websites we now have the following Aug 28th Swindon Lakeside Sep 4th Swindon Wolves
  13. Team for Lakeside D Watt C Cook (G) L Bridger K Nilsson S Nicholls (G) A Ellis B Morley They have managed to find two good guests but the Robins should still get the three points, if on.
  14. Three riders could be missing this one, Nicki through injury, now Tai been taken off to hospital tonight, and who knows Darcy could also be missing.
  15. Only Nilsson scored well for Lakeside, along with Rory as a guest, if monday is not rained off they are likely to get hammered again at Swindon.
  16. Swindon should have all riders available for this and also we should have the return of Peter Kildemand, can only see a home win and three more points for the Robins. Many thanks must go to Hans who was a great guest while Peter was out. Will be able to see the Lakeside lineup later as if M Bech is still out injured and with many teams riding guests will be restricted. We are now back to 4th in the league with Lakeside one point ahead of us prior to the results today, saturday, and we need to get max points from our remaining home meetings. Three contenders for the last two places in the top four race tonight, and apart from Eastbourne they also have meetings on monday. One major issue could be the weather which at the moment is a lot of rain due on monday and if as usual they have dog racing up till about 6.30 work cannot take place on the track in the afternoon.
  17. Kings Lynn to win this one but it will be a good opportunity for Gusto to check out the track prior to next wed.
  18. A good result for the Robins with some good racing tonight. K B did well for the Stars and Lewis Rose pushed our riders hard as did Robert Lambert in the latter part of the meeting. We just need to do the same next week at home and also see if we can get a win at Kings Lynn on wednesday.
  19. If he sent a text 3 hours before the meeting started, which has what has been mentioned, and only just over an hour away he would have arrived in time. It was not his fault an accident closed the road and if he was in a long traffic jam there would be nothing he could have done. It does seem ridiculous that he could be fined.
  20. No rain at all today, still sunny at 1.20 and the forecast I use says a bit of light rain at 2pm then ok from then onwards.
  21. After the disappointment of last night this should be a good meeting and Swindon should get the win as they did a few weeks ago against KL. We have a good guest in Hans replacing Peter Kildemand, wonder if he will be wearing his Robins leathers again.
