I have not seen the exact details of the amended planning application, but now that it seems that there is no light industrial units between the stadium and the housing. This is a pity as the industrial buffer would have helped with noise reduction reaching the housing and this had other advantages as well. Originally the stadium was between the road and the housing but the plans were changed to include this light industrial buffer. It has been mentioned that the existing stadium will remain, but may be modified, while the building of the new one is taking place so there should be minimal disruption as even the dogs need to continue racing. With ref the track, it will not be as long as the existing one, I understand it will be similar to the track at Birmingham, which I have not been to. I like you sidney like the size of the track at Blunsdon but the size is limited to the length of the dog track, which will be shorter in the new stadium, but I understand by not much. I cannot find any stats on the length of the straights and size of the track at Birmingham but I understand the racing there is good. Had I read your post yesterday I would have asked Jason last night. Maybe a few who have been to Birmingham can comment on the track and the racing there. The revised plans do show a speedway track as well as a dog track but at the end of the day it is down to the stadium owners if they want both sports but I see no reason that both sports could not continue. I like the fact that Blunsdon has a unique size and shape and I hope the proposed new one does not reduce the racing and overtaking lines and opportunities. At least the new track will not be like the one Oxford had where if you blinked you missed the race.

Spoke to a couple of people last night and the parking on the centre green will happen. I have contacted a colleague who has a camper van, which when we go to other motor events we sit on the roof and get a very good view. This camper van has many advantages, gives a good view, has cooking facilities for bacon rolls and tea, fridge for beer and its own loo.

World Cup Fantasy League

Since THJ, KKS etc seems to be missing again, and the publishing of the results are as reliable as her predictions and rider performances I would suggest that Gavan works them out and puts them on here. Mind you there would be a few questions asked if Gavan won. Also is it true that the winner gets a burger meal with THJ at Poole. -
When the plans for the new development around the stadium at Swindon were put forward it was the MP Justin Tomlinson who helped and insisted that the stadium would be built, and its inclusion was a condition of the granted planning permission. It is good that he is on this group as he has had the first hand experience of what developers try to do.

The picture of the new track, which I am looking at now, actually has a line around the track. The track has been made quite wide and for major meetings the inside of the track can be coned off and used for extra vehicles. It was considered too dangerous to allow parking on the outside. The picture also shows a marked lane across the track on the third bend for vehicles to use.

World Cup Race Off - 18th July 2013

Your last paragraph confirms why the BSPA should have nothing to do with Team GB. A separate body would be the way forward, but only if the funding can be found. Then as mentioned by others test matches at home and in Europe, training facilities and even meetings against EL clubs. If the "squad" of current and future GB riders are encouraged to ride for clubs in Europe, which is a good idea, will they have any time for test matches etc. May be prospective GB riders should have followed the example of Denmark and had a weeks camp and training before the start of the season. -

Also add to the above if a new tv contract is negotiated that a percentage of the income is kept back to purchase or rent a track where the youngsters can learn, have leagues for youngsters as they do abroad, pay for the likes of Loram etc to help with the younger riders to race against youngsters from abroad in mini test matches both here and abroad on the big European tracks as they become more experienced. The series that is taking place between GB and Aus with pl riders is a start, but there needs to be a lot more done. Unfortunately the Sky money does not seem to have been spent wisely and I do not know if the BSPA is the right organisation to set something up as their record to date has not been good. It may be too late to bring back test matches for established riders with all the teams they ride for and the GPs, but they could do it for the youngsters, if an income stream to pay for it can be secured. -

The authorities screwed up the acceptance of the offer from Morris to sign up as British. It will serve them right if he rides well for Aus in a year or two. -

If C Harris cannot ride slick tracks and he scored 3 and 6 points at this stadium in 2011 and 2012 it does not look too good for tonight. Not having had a decent program for bringing riders through means we have to stick with him on a track he may score few points on. I hope he can adapt to the track tonight. -

For those who like sport and only watch bbc1,2,ITV1 and Channel 4, ITV4 probably shows more sport than all those channels added together.. Lots of motor sport and cycling, and some football and rugby. Today they have Motorsport uk, Tour De France, Rugby World Cup 7s, The cycle show, British Super Bikes, The Motorbike show. -
Do not know if this problem is linked to above but in the last week or so I find when I first start up the computer that it does not like picking up any site from toolbar and have to use bookmark list. Some thing is happening, also my settings keep changing and I get babylon as my default search engine, who ever that is, even though I keep deleting it and change the default. When I first started I used to get the skewbald ass so set up a toolbar then bookmarks.

Is the reason we have not had Sam on the screen lately is that he is the pilot. -

Am surprised Worrall not in team at KL, his scores at his track that track have been getting better. I would have had Worrall instead of Harris at Lynn. -
Got that wrong, have now re read (g).
-
So does (a) absent no I - G or RR, override (g) absent d/u rider - RR only. Someone did not see this coming did they.

Interesting schedule published by Sky for July. July 3rd Birmingham Swindon July 29th Eastbourne Birmingham I know we have the World Cup July 13th - 20th, but presumably other meetings scheduled are yet to be decided. I hope they will show another PL meeting, and there are a few top of the EL table meetings to choose from. . -
