  1. Who when he clicked his fingers, disappeared and has not been seen since.
  2. I would imagine you would make more money betting on each round.
  3. Try here http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/ticketoffice
  4. Good, used to watch Kyle ride 2nd halves at Swindon, a tidy rider.
  5. The BSI are responsible for agreeing the amounts paid to the FIM, which it then passes on to the venues. If an alternative organisation runs its own World Championship the amounts asked from the venues could reduce, amounts paid to riders increased and to get the federations on side, make a payment to them as well. If you keep all parties happy they are more likely to support and stay with you. As Polski Zuzel has posted certain venues in Poland are refusing to pay what BSI wants. Others may be willing to pay what is asked but if an alternative cheaper option is available they may switch. BSI has become too greedy and any organisation that is more efficient than one charging too much and provide an almost identical product will win out in the end. £1.5 million is paid to the FIM, money that if shared around a bit could encourage riders, federations and venues to go with a new organisation. Even the F1 midget had to reduce his charges for tv showing F1 GP in a couple of Countries because they refused to pay what he was asking.
  6. Brilliant video Steve. Tai is certainly getting the sport of Speedway more widely recognized.
  7. Part of this point was commented on earlier. Why should one sport pay anything to the FIM, who it appears do not to put any of the fees charged back into the sport. Another organisation could run a World Championship, pay the riders more, the federations more and still make money. BSI and the FIM have got themselves into this situation with One Sport who may now decide to set up a rival World Championship and other competitions. If they share the money around in a more acceptable way the riders and National Federations might prefer this. The above is not ideal but if it happens BSI and the FIM have only got themselves to blame.
  8. So if an organisation set up and ran its own World Championship and offered to pay the National Federations this 1.5 million per year , what stops the Federations waving good by to the FIM. The National Federations might then feed this money down to the clubs and feeder training schemes.
  9. It was mentioned earlier that BSI have the rights for the World Championship for a number of years, someone must have sold those rights. I cannot imagine they let BSI run the championship and collect the tv rights for free. I did not say that British Speedway gets anything from BSI. As I have said before and your post confirms it, there are too many organisations involved in running speedway, no wonder the sport is in a mess.
  10. No it is not ok, unless arranged by prior agreement in the contract, but a club would not agree to that arrangement. The club would then dump the rider or sue him for breach of contract. Not seen as a valid competition by who, the SCB, and any other organisation that gets a "fee" from BSI . The riders have the option to ride in the SEC and ignore British Speedway if not allowed to ride. Fans are complaining that many of the top riders do not ride here, If the SEC attracts the top riders that are here even they will disappear.from the league racing. The SCB do enact the rules of the BSPA, and havn't they done a good job.
  11. The SCB is a third party to the contract between the rider and club, all be it the governing body for speedway in the uk. If The club has knowledge of and are happy for a rider to ride in the SEC what has it got to do with the SCB. The club would have to accept that they may be a rider short for any clash of meetings or they have the option not to sign that rider. Not an ideal situation but that is up to the club. If all the top riders in the UK opt for the SEC what is the SCB going to do then. The result of the FIM action will force riders to choose between the competitions, but if the majority of the top riders opt for the SEC the SEC may then set up a World Championship in addition to the European one. This stand could result in a complete split of speedway where riders, clubs, or national federations break away from the FIM. If you or anyone else wanted to start up a competition that would be up to them. The riders would then decide if they want to take part. It is up to the clubs they sign for to accept any prior contract. If the club is not happy with that prior contract they do not sign them. The one major issue here is that the SGP and the SEC could both run with riders in both competitions, but the actions being taken may cause a major break up of the sport, which is not good.
  12. I am against a rider being fined or banned if they miss a meeting because of a contract to ride elsewhere. If the organisation they sign for second is aware of the prior contract and accepts it that should be the end of the matter. What I object to is a third organisation that appears to contribute nothing or very little to British Speedway imposing a ban.
  13. I am not worried if we have both competitions or not, what is of concern is that a rider can be fined or banned by an organisation that only seems to take money out of the sport and contributes very little. Last year Hans was banned for a period, even though he announced that he would be in the SEC before the league season started. If a lot of riders in the league this year partake in the SEC the league could see more riders missing from meetings and giving our league a miss next year.
  14. If you live in the South it may be coming by canoe.
  15. If all the top riders from those countries did ride in an outside championship and faced a ban what would stop the federations of those countries ignoring the FIM and running there own meetings.
  16. I have no idea what organisations control the sport but there seems to be too many, some of which seem to have conflicting interests and will this decision lead to the same situation when K Packer put two fingers up to the authorities and changed cricket. At the end of the day the riders have the power and if many leave the GP and ride in the SEC can any sanctions be imposed on them re their league or international racing. As Ghostwalker comments court actions may be taken up if riders are penalized for riding in both the GP and SEC. If the fim bans riders who ride in the SEC from riding in the GPs then they may split the sport and would One Sport set up its own World Championship. Do BSI give any money to the bodies that control the sport in each country ? If not they may find that any help and support for them disappeares.
  17. Anybody got a taser gun Phil could borrow which he fires at Bomber when the tapes go up, that would make him want to get away quicker from the line.
  18. First GB team selection by Rosco to race against Rest of the World in Ben Fund on March 9th http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/11004209.Rosco_names_first_GB_team/
  19. It does seem strange that there seems to be no mention of this meeting on the club website.
  20. Try this, a fuller image. https://twitter.com/Chris_Holder23/status/430670378512285696/photo/1/large
  21. Halifaxtiger/SCB I know Ben is passionate about riding and I have also had general conversations with him, but both on sky and in the pits he talks about what he is going to do but then often does not do it. This is why I have never taken to him. I hope he can increase his average and is able to become a rider that the GB manager would often pick. I then might change my mind.
  22. I fully understand all that Matt, lets just see what happens before or when a defined number of houses are occupied. I did mention in my post "but I wait to see".
