2017 - 1 Or 2 Fixed Race Nights And When?
A ORLOV replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Some foreign riders may just want to do part of a season, anyway it is not to get top riders the idea is to strengthen the teams rather than the dumbing down that takes place most years. It also allows clubs to put them back in a position to fight for a playoff spot if they can afford it and if the right riders are willing to be signed up. -

I like the idea of a window at which point any club can strengthen their team up to the highest average in the league. -
Thanks and now for an insite into a sport that is on every ones mind, synchronised swimming
-
With all the rain due wed and thurs I doubt if many tracks can take heavy machinery

Yet I am sure Rosco mentioned fri, which is strange with GPs on the sat and some practicing taking place on fridays. The fri may have now changed since Poland has announced fri night meetings. -

That was what we kept being told, but the council have still not yet signed off the planning consent. -

It is difficult to work out the size from the pictures seen, but it seems to have decent wide sweeping bends. Anyway it should not matter with Rohan as it is unlikely it will be ready in 2016. -

I think the meeting on the 25th at Poole is at midday and Somerset is in the evening so no clash there -

Cannot recall seeing him ride but will hope Rohan can get somewhere near what Dak was capable of. -

Would like to see either Ryan Douglas or Todd Kurtz if not Rohan. -

That is a blow but understandable, if not another Aussie may have to change my picture again. Rosco may have to get his leathers out, and lose a bit of weight. -
No he would not, you have him.

You have listed the reasons why a rider would want a retainer if signing as a squad member stops them riding for another team if offered a meeting or series of meetings. I suppose the odd rider may be prepared to sign up to those conditions without a payment. I have no idea where the extra money would come from apart from the clubs expecting to get extra fans because of the standard of rider they include in the team, an example of this was that the number of fans went up when Darcy rode for Swindon. Not sure how the squad riders abroad are retained if they do not get a ride and are offered a position or meeting with another club.
-
I doubt if the riders will have mechanics on call, equipment in the uk and keep themselves available for a meeting for nothing.
-
If they have got any sense anything but still pick up their squad retainer cheque.

More news on the stadium and what a surprise that they are claiming that with a two month wait for the council to approve it and then a five or six month build that the stadium will not be ready for eight months, ie next Sep or Oct. Most people have predicted this timescale months ago. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/14264357.New_Robins_stadium_unlikely_for_this_season/?ref=mr&lp=10 -

The Curious Case Of The Invisible Chairman.
A ORLOV replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Swindon does race on a thursday when there is no dog racing and Poole on a wednesday, but Swindon has greyhound racing on monday afternoons, and as per my post, can restrict track prep for a sky meeting which is usually monday, not a major issue unless it rains heavily on the monday afternoon, and who knows what single or couple of days the league may race on in the future. -
The Curious Case Of The Invisible Chairman.
A ORLOV replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Which is why one race day in the uk will not be ideal as many tracks share with dog racing which takes place on nearly every day if the week and with those with meetings in the afternoon track preparation on race day can be limited. -
