A ORLOV replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As could the organisers of The World Cup who might be looking to take it elsewhere, so the management of BV need to pull their fingers out and get the PR right for once and get someone in who can organise how the club should be doing things. -

Unlikely as the forecast seems to show rain all day and getting heavier in the evening -
Last season the SSS website was not very good at all in showing correct information.

Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
A ORLOV replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Jason Doyle in an article in the adver has stated that the league needs to move to one night a week racing, he thinks that some of the top riders will return. I am not sure about this as it is the cost of some of these top riders that is a major problem and not just the availability. This would mean that we only have half the number of present meetings unless most EL clubs also have a PL or NL club which runs in the week when we are away. There is still the issue of only one available night when many clubs do not own the stadium they use. I still reckon that when a bottom of the league team visit or the weather is iffy and there is a good meeting on sky, many fans will stay at home and watch the one on the tv. -

We do have other good riders Iisa, just wish we had the return meeting after we had had a few more at Swindon. -

And with a team that does not have meetings that clash with Swindons. Hope he and all the other riders get something sorted out asap. -

BV have released a statement saying that they will be making a statement about refunds when they have received advice. They have also admitted that the track was not fit for purpose. This last statement possibly leaves the club open to claims for more than the ticket price. -

Come to Swindon on the sunday, cannot promise a last heat decider as we may be way ahead on points by then. -
I blame Starmans dog for it, what a stupid place to bury a bone
-
That was funny, also a bit dangerous, but all the riders managed to ride round it.

If that is the case it is a shame that more clubs do not use that facility to promote their club and the sport. -

Do not think that is quite right, it was mentioned a couple of days ago that clubs are not allowed to put clips of races on their websites without going through all the rigmarole of getting permission from go speed etc. I do agree with your last para, anything that entices people to attend is needed. -

Looking at those conditions for the non flying of drones: over or within 150 mtrs of a congested area over or near a public meeting of more than 1000 people being within 50 mtrs of buildings etc If you filmed from more than 50 mtrs away I would think none of the above would apply to Eastbourne Speedway. Those conditions could apply to other speedway tracks. -
Pictures of many clubs teams appear on their websites, and in the press, within hours of them being taken, so the non showing of them is down to the people running the website. Apologise if you were being sarcastic re go-speed.

I wonder if there is a sign outside of or at the turnstiles at the club informing people that they are not allowed to film any part of the meeting. What are Eastbourne going to do if someone uses a drone from outside the stadium to record and broadcast anything. The people in charge of British speedway do almost nothing to promote the sport, does it not sink in that the showing of an odd race on social media may entice people to visit a track and watch it. -

Friday will be a tester as we will have not raced against an EL club so a more realistic meeting will be Sunday. -
That is the point I made on Sat SS, if the track not being good was known beforehand who knows what the courts would award costs for.

More importantly will any Wolves fans travel to it or would they wait until a few meetings have been held there. -
If Gordon was stupid enough to allow a third party, and by the sound of it a non speedway third party, to build and lay the track then does not test it he deserves all the flack he is getting. Laying a track is a specialist job that even some of the curators that have been doing it for years do not always get right due to the weather or material which is too dry or wet, who in their right mind would leave a job like that to a contractor.

Looking at the reports from people who attended the state of the track was not the only problem. This was another case of the people in charge either not organising everything properly or ignoring others who are telling them things are not right. No way should this meeting have gone ahead without a proper test event having taken place beforehand. I accept the timescale was screwed but the management should have cancelled the event.
