  1. Jason Doyle involved in another big crash in Poland, taken off in Ambulance but has tweeted nothing broken but feels beaten up again. His actual words were balls gone flat now feel like I has been run over by a truck. Will need to wait and hear if ok by thursday and if he needs a softer seat on his bike.
  2. This was mentioned in General Topics a few days ago. Reports back are that there are no problems. Just tried it again and system is fine. Remember to use speedwayupdates.proboards.com and not other versions http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/ Edit - Forgot to mention it seems to be an IE problem.
  3. The planning dept at the council have been questioned and they seem to be as frustrated as are the fans. Justin Tomlinson the MP and T Russell would be the ones to email with questions
  4. In the GPs I support Doyle and Kildemand, both Swindon, in the same way I used to support Leigh Adams over any Brit. But I also want Woofie to do well and will support him if the other two are not in the final. Ideal GP result Doyle, Kildemand, Woffie in any sequence in any GP. The World Cup is a bit more difficult because Swindon probably has a couple of riders in the Aus team. I support both Aus and England.
  5. Now that he will be at no. 2 or 4 for this meeting he will be racing against our Australian young guns so he will need to be on his guard .
  6. No he is going to sit out the meeting following accident last night, just tweeted his shoulder needs resting.
  7. At the track last night they mentioned that the gates would be open at 2.30.
  8. They ought to as there is no guarantee the new one will be available or ready by March 17
  9. I am aware that that picture is not 100% correct thanks, but this picture was better than trying to explain it, I cannot find an exact picture and the one shown gives an indication of the vicinity of where it should be.
  10. As others have said a processional meeting with some strung out races. Was surprised that KL were not closer but ironically the difference in the score was the difference in the reserves scores, this new system is not working. It was very pleasing seeing Justin getting 17 points but whoever Swindon has in the tier 1 reserve position they will usually score well, sometimes at the expense of a heat leader and sometimes not. Tonight also saw an improvement from Stefan in the way he fought for his place in his races and his overall score. Jason and Nick rode well as did NKI and Mads for Kings Lynn. I hope that Rohan and Robert are ok after there crashes.
  11. Because the new stadium is slightly smaller and as it is right against the road it takes up less room and allows the developer to build more houses. The stadium next to the road also acts as a noise barrier between the main road and the houses. Originally the idiots had a plan with the houses between the main road and the speedway stadium. It would have saved a lot of hassle and concern if they just left the stadium where it is and just demolished the stands and rebuilt them but this method may have caused a lot of problems while the build was going on.
  12. Thanks Danny, had not seen that map anywhere, have moved copy to Swindon Stadium Thread. Re weather for the meeting tonight, just a few drops of rain but weather has been fine, it is now clouding over a bit. Re A419 roadworks, road or lane closures after 8pm, can only find one just north of Oxford road but no indication if north or south lane. Just keep an eye out for any signs you see around Latton as road works website is not that clear about roadworks on the A419 going north after the meeting.
  13. A better image of the site and position of the new stadium, thanks Danny
  14. I thought it was quite funny when I think it was Tai picked up a spade to work on the start gate before his race.
  15. He might of meant the planning etc but I can assure you there is no sign of any work when I last looked on the 5th May. If there is anyone who is going tonight able to take a photo of the proposed site could you please post it on here.
  16. Neither, certain "know alls" who have mates that know what is happening keep saying it has started or is just about to start are talking cr#p. The only thing that appears to have happened is that the contractors have cut down some scrub and trees, this was done before the nesting season, and a massive heap of dirt has been moved from other parts of the housing site and dumped in one corner of the car park.
  17. Or after heat 15 Weather nice and sunny for a while now but possible rain shower around 8pm. This needs to go ahead so we can get above Wolves in the league table
  18. Weather lovely and sunny at the moment but needs to be kept an eye on, as SS says speedway should be ok.
  19. Kings Lynn visit the Abbey with some ex Robins in their team. We did not get the full amount of rain forecast for today so the track should be ok. Troy is riding for Lynn for the first time this season and will no doubt want to show us what we are missing. Lewis rode well for Swindon last year and like Troy will want to do well. Mads always gets a good welcome back. NKI should have some good races against our heat leaders. The main change for Swindon is that Rohan is back in the 1 - 5 at number 3, with Nick at 4, so a strong pairing and Justin moves to reserve. I can only see a Roobins win but Kings Lynn are capable of getting a point. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2681
  20. Cannot see this going ahead unless southern Kings Lynn has a lot of luck as rain is forecast through till 11pm. With all the rain due in Swindon today tomorrows meeting at Swindon may also be called off due to a water logged track, just need to check the website in the morning.
  21. Correct, I sometimes think some on here need to ride a bike over ruts in line with the racing and a lump of concrete at 90 degrees to the track, or they can try riding a motorbike over a speed hump in the road at 60 mph .
  22. That is a shame but not a surprise, am now waiting to see if KL Swindon will also get called off with all the rain about.
  23. I remember reading but cannot find the report from a department in the council where it stated that they would recommend that the stadium could not go ahead because of the parking issues. Presumably it could go ahead for the dog racing as they get very few spectators, it is only the speedway that will have a spectator number issue re the amount of parking.
