  1. I seem to recall that during a chat with Tai after a win he mentioned he was giving the other riders information about the set up he was using, so possibly yes.
  2. Correct, when you look at the scores last night in the SWC the three riders apart from Tai just needed to score another couple of points each and we would have been pushing Poland for the win. Danny, Craig, Robert and a few of the younger Brits like the Worralls, etc we have coming through should all have more training opportunities and international meetings and be encouraged to ride on the continent. Even in the UK we should have a few under 21 or 23 meetings against say Australia as they all ride in the UK anyway, then a few more meetings abroad against the Poles and Danes. I know it is tough with the schedules but time needs to be made for training and these type of meetings.
  3. Utube comments on GB Team by Rosco http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.30981
  4. Would agree re the ref, there was definitely one brilliant start which was ok but was called back
  5. This refers to Rob B as well. OK was not aware of that, in which case I cancel my comment on the Joker and TS, thanks. Bloody rules.
  6. Well done Derwent, thanks Robbie for running the comp.
  7. Good meeting and what a surprise in GB getting silver when we only really had one decent rider. It was a pity that KIng and Cook only woke up towards the end of the meeting. This meeting showed that any decent up and coming riders need to ride abroad to get more experience against the likes of the Polish riders. They did ok but could have done a lot better. What I do not understand is why Rosco used Tai as a TS and Joker at the same time rather than as a Joker in his programed ride then as a TS later, we could have had 3 more points. We cannot keep relying on Tai all the time and our younger riders need to get more international experience against the top riders from other nations. Apart from the moans well done on getting an unexpected Silver.
  8. Wolves - Coventry is not now on sky, next meeting appears to be Cov - Swindon on 8th.
  9. A hard decision as Brady earnt a place in the top four last night but who would be as good as him if the reserve was needed again tonight.
  10. Poland K Kasprzak P Dudek Sweden A Jonsson A Linback Australia J Doyle S Masters GB T Woffindon D King Good luck to all those in the comp.
  11. Now with two Swindon riders riding for Aus will find it more difficult deciding who to shout for if it is close between GB and Australia.
  12. The meeting on monday at Wolves is not now on sky, no idea why.
  13. Can anyone confirm if Mark Lemon when picking the riders for heats 16 to 20 initially put Jason in 19 and Brady in 20 or had I had too much to drink.
  14. Race off - one and only post Denmark NKI MJ Jensen Aus J Doyle M Frick Russia E Sayfutdinov G Laguta USA R Fisher B Janniro
  15. There is no rain forecast for sat but being Manchester that could change.
  16. If Greg is not riding that will pee off any American supporters who have planned to go Belle Vue tonight
  17. How can they know, most of the teams are not confirmed yet, Russia and Australia could all bring in riders that did not ride last Sat or Tues. With reference to the host nation being seeded through to the final, I agree with those that say they should only be seeded through to the run off and two teams should go through from the run off.
  18. The Stadium is owned by GI and used primarily for dog racing, speedway rents it to run speedway. They have no problem with numbers of fans for dogs as they only get a few there and could run it for dogs only if it came to it. What I cannot find anywhere is any concerns from the greyhound owners.
  19. Public transport for people living in Swindon is not helpful either as it is not cheap, inconvenient, and not the way most people want to travel. Just imagine a rained off meeting and having to queue in the car park in the rain waiting for a bus, then getting from the bus to your car.
  20. Clubs have ex riders living in Australia who talent spot at local meetings and then talk to the likes of Matt, Rosco and others as well as Australian riders that are already over here that get to hear of good youngsters. We have had a few Australian youngsters join Swindon, some of whom were recommended and others who came over on spec and put themselves about. Poole also seem to have a continual supply of Australian youngsters. I bet Matt has already signed up Chris Holders son
  21. Land around the site has been used before for temporary parking, when we had about 15,000 turn up for an International, England - USA I think, the speedway got the farmer across the road to open up his fields and hundreds of cars parked there. Also in those days the Speedway used to have an arrangement with the bus company to run buses from about 4 different points in the town. These days the local buses stop about 9pm so people can use them to get to speedway but have a long walk into North Swindon to get a bus back into town after the meetings. More Robins fans these days travel in from Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and even Bristol and Reading, public transport is no good for any of them, then you have the fans from the away team who are not going to want to drive past the stadium to find a carpark in the middle of Swindon, then a bus back to the stadium. There are places to park around the new site with a 10 min walk to the stadium but the planners do not want to encourage anyone to park in them. I also understand that arrangements have been made for parking over and above the ludicrous number shown in the plans, which are close to the stadium, but so far no details of this has been published. GI have also put plans in to modify and build around Poole Speedway, I wonder if Matt is aware of the history so far of the Swindon Stadium fiasco. Unfortunately like Swindon they do not own the stadium.
  22. I see Darcy Ward is back in the UK for a short while, he will visit Poole and Swindon Speedway and probably Belle Vue if able to.
