  1. I predicted that Lynn might at least get a point last night from a close meeting but was surprised by the lack of fight later in the meeting. Kings Lynn just need to look out when the roobins visit on the 18th.
  2. Why do Swindon often give away points at the start of the meeting, the first four heats were diabolical, we cannot afford a start like that against any of the top teams, or if we get to the play offs, which I am not sure we will do, where the aggregate scores count. Is it the riders or is it the track, as after a lot of grading after heat 4 the roobins riders picked up. Rohan has certainly improved as has Nick, and Josh and Charles put in impressive rides later in the meeting. Kings Lynn only had one rider scoring well and that was NKI, and Nikolaj showed what he could do. Next week is important with away meetings at Coventry, Kings Lynn and Belle Vue, which if we want to stay in the play offs position we need to win at least two of those.
  3. A few reasons to go to this meeting tonight It should be a good meeting D Ward will be visiting After this meeting we do not have a home meeting till Aug 22 Weather looks to be ok.
  4. Orion has modified his air horn to sound like a big raspberry
  5. Just looking at the Swindon home scheduled meetings and I see we have got another 3 week gap between the meeting on the 4th and the next being the 22nd.
  6. Whichever way you look at it the people in charge of speedway should have run it in such a way that they and the lower levels of the sport gained some financial benefit from the World Championships and GPs etc.
  7. Not sure about the defeat, the lads from Somerset have been riding well in the last few days, and Sedgy has tweeted that he has found and sorted the problem he has had the last few meetings. With KL having some good riders it should be a good meeting.
  8. Kings Lynn come to Blunsdon this thursday and if the Robins hope to get to the play offs this is a meeting we must win. Swindon have Adam Roynon in place of the injured Stefan Nielsen and Kings Lynn have Lewis Kerr in place of Simon Lambert. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2737 When the Robins have had a break before we have taken time to get back to normal but we should be able to get 3 points in this one. The Stars have a strong line up and should possibly push us to get 1 point. One other bit of news is that Darcy Ward should be making a visit prior to heading over to Poland, so any Darcy tee shirts on show might be a nice gesture.
  9. In that case the fans need to approach the management and ask them for more information, if they are ignored then pick a naff meeting boycott it and just sit in the car park or outside the carpark area. What you need to ask yourselves is are the management even aware of how awful their communication of information and treatment of the fans is.
  10. Swindon used to mostly put out a meeting report two or three days before the meeting, but have been nearer the day of the meeting recently.
  11. You could also ask him if any money is available to run training at a track, with riding style, fitness, bike set ups etc for youngsters as well as those knocking on the door of the GB team .
  12. Remember a few of riders at Swindon doing the same, one could have been Jason.
  13. OK, so if no or very little money is fed down to the grass roots training etc from the SCB, or with what woofy says is happening re development of the youngsters no wonder we do not produce enough top class riders and any that are any good go abroad where the big earnings are.
  14. Darcy is planning to turn up at the meeting on Thursday http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2736
  15. Unfortunately you may be correct, but I have a couple of questions. Does the bspa receive any money from the GPs, SWC or other world wide competitions from the people who have been given the rights to run them. If not why not? In other sports some of the money from World Championships etc is fed back to the individual federations which can then be fed down to the National Squad and grass roots. It seems in Speedway that any large money earners have been given away. You can see from what Tai has stated what he has done and is prepared to do, but if nothing happens I can see him and others walking away from any GB competitions. Are the reasons about the lack of training, help and progress the same as why certain riders ultimately refused to ride for Team GB.
  16. There is another letter from the council asking basic questions which seems to confirm what a micky mouse plan re hedges and surrounding greenery on the site the developers have put in.
  17. There are plenty on the internet he could try http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime If starts are his problem you would have thought he would have tried something like this ages ago.
  18. Also the gesture he made on Sat when after winning, patting his Union Jack race jacket.
  19. It is the likes of Robert and the other young GB riders that need any help that can be offered if British Speedway wants to do better.
  20. The statement about the BSPA policy is very pathetic. Surely a refund policy should be the policy of the club not the bspa, the contract and conditions of entry is with the speedway club.
  21. Overall it would not mean more points but winning two heats instead of one deprives the other teams of those points.
  22. Excellent for the Robins fans who will be able to see an away win.
