  1. Just need Auntie Doris or anyone who passes the stadium to report on any progress of the building of the speedway track preferably with photos. Not too fussed about the stadium itself, the site can be seen from the road leading to the present stadium from the traffic lights.
  2. Unfortunately that is correct. During one period of time I used to read and take to bits, in order to find loopholes, in other peoples and companies patents. Matt seems to do the same with the bspa rule book, which is how he is able to continually beat all the other promoters when signing riders, building teams and replacing riders. It seems that the bspa are not capable of writing precise detailed rules, which leave loopholes anyone could drive a juggernaut through. You have only to look at some of the spelling and grammar used on tweets and communications etc by certain promoters to see why they are not capable of writing a clear and precise rule book. I have no idea if they write the rules or get someone in to do it.
  3. But the rule quoted above does not state that. It should have the words the wheel should be stationary and not be spinning from the time the green light goes on till the tapes rise. The use of every word, positioning of every comma and the grammar used can change the meaning of what is printed. This is not to say there is another rule not quoted that states the tyre cannot be warmed by spinning it on the surface.
  4. Congratulations Red Flag and thanks R&R for running the comp.
  5. It is going to be difficult to work out which riders, apart from Jason, return next year as they have all been inconsistent, even Charles who scored 3 at Swindon on thursday, 9 last night at Lakeside and 17 tonight at Workington. Rohan was on the point of being dropped but then started scoring. You can bet one of those we leave out will then fly next year and come back and get a max at Swindon for some other team.
  6. If a fan bought a ticket and was given a season ticket holders seat number then that is the problem of the management and no one would have the legal right to move them. They would have to compensate whoever could not use that seat.
  7. Is it that drink ?, does it gives you wind which gives extra propulsion forward ?
  8. Rohan looks to be ok as the rule states the back wheel should be in contact with the track surface at which point the start marshall signals to the ref. 1. It does not state the rear wheel should be stationary 2. The wheel, even when spinning is in contact with the surface 3. The rule does not state that the wheel cannot start spinning between the start marshall signalling to the ref and the rising of the tapes. If you are going to have rules they need to e 100% clear and unambiguous. F1 teams have groups of people going over the rules with a magnifying glass and lawyer and find loopholes that they can use to their advantage. Matt does the same but to a lesser degree and I understand takes the rule book to bed with him each night and studies each line before he goes to sleep.
  9. That image is a wolf not a tasmanian devil Just imagine turning up for a sell out and finding your seat had been sold to someone else, there would be trouble.
  10. Well Rosco has mentioned in the write up that he will talk with Jason and there will likely be a big shake up for next year. I would only have Jason and possibly Rohan from this year in next years team, providing Rohan doubles up with a PL club that has a small track.
  11. Just seen a picture of the track on @RobinsUpdates twitter, looks a bit wet and slimey.
  12. It would be interesting to know how many people Lakeside have ready to put out and then take off any track covers if that is what they are planning to do, people may then realise what a major job it is.
  13. And if I remember correctly certain riders in the winning team were not invited or able to attend a celebratory meeting, shocking.
  14. It has been predicted for a while that Matt would pull another rabbit out of a hat, the injury to Hans has helped but who on earth has determined the average that Linback is on. Those that determine such things have put another question mark against their ability to run the sport properly, but one must give credit to Matt for finding another loophole in the rules.
  15. Sky have screwed up having the meetings on a wed as subject to who gets through it limits who can ride away on the wed. If Swindon get through then whoever picks them will have to ride at home first which be very interesting if Wolves pick them as it seems that they cannot race on a wed either. Reminds one of someone not being able to organise a pi## up in a brewery.
  16. You normally get a good meeting when the racing is close, there is a reasonable amount of overtaking and the result is unpredictable with the bonus of a last heat decider. I enjoyed it as I did the NL meeting last week as the above happened, you do not need GP superstars half a lap ahead to have a good meeting. I will accept and surprised there was not a small price reduction. The numbers were down on last week, I would say about 400.
  17. Have no idea, someone has asked the question on twitter but I have not seen an answer.
  18. I will take a megaphone and run around, but am getting a bit concerned at lack of posts.
  19. Did anyone at the track complain, was anyone offended, I doubt it. OK he slipped up and used a word that some pc people complain about.
  20. So a club has to pay a few riders to be on standby for a meeting that may not take place, also the team line up needs to be posted with the bspa in advance of the meeting taking place. Many EL riders ride abroad at the weekend and many PL riders race for their own clubs. Five out of the seven Swindon riders also ride for other clubs, a lot of whom race on a Sat.
