  1. If these foreign riders sign up to the new contracts in Poland there is the probability they will not ride here anyway.
  2. So the answer is do not sign up any that want that sort of increase, it will weaken the league initially but it will strengthen up later. The alternative is pay their demands, put up the entry price to pay for them and watch the fan numbers drop a lot and more clubs go to the wall .
  3. If the powers that be expand the training schemes etc we can concentrate on British riders and only those from abroad that want to ride here. I am not too worried if riders from europe decide not to ride here. If like many of the Australians who base themselves in the UK any earnings from abroad while the £ is low will be a bonus. Anyway by next March the exchange rate will have changed and may be back up, it just needs one of the many factors that determine the value of the £ to change.
  4. How many more times do people have to be told, the riders are self employed nobody owns them.
  5. If some think the eu is so great maybe they should move there.
  6. The pound has dropped, so what, it makes exporting a lot easier. It has dropped before and gone back up again and the same will happen again, most of the drop in the value is caused by the money marketeers and not sound economics. There was a period a couple of years ago when the £ was worth one euro but that did not last long. As the eu implodes the euro will drop in value. Anyway have booked a couple of foreign holidays and am going off for a few months to enjoy myself. As far as speedway goes, as mentioned by Sidney and others we had a National league meeting between Swindon select and Kent, it was fine, not EL standard but plenty of action. I would like to see the top riders but I can do that watching the GPs, if they are going to cost too much they can stay abroad. Lets develop British riders and let any that do not want to stay here go abroad.
  7. Mentioned by Rosco, but thanks for earlier news anyway.
  8. Not sure if it is for next year but Stefan Neilsen has been taken up as a full Swindon asset.
  9. Yes and usually it is a pain in the rear end. They should have built the track somewhere else , would love a track like that at Swindon.
  10. Cheeky b, will have to wait for the carrier pigeons to bring the news .
  11. So you claim for costs as well, but you may need to confirm you have tried all other routes first. This is what is annoying, the cost of time and effort in claiming a refund. If more people claimed these costs the stadium might start paying out on the night.
  12. That is strange as there is nothing at all on Swindon or Stefans websites at the moment
  13. If you actually want food you may have to go a bit further afield .
  14. A great shame as he was heading the series and had a good chance of being the World Champion in Melbourne.
  15. Terrible accident that was not his fault, but feel for him having done so well all year only to have this happen prior to the last GP.
  16. I would think one of the first things that will happen is when they get the people for the market and dogs to park in the carpark next to the road and the area to be worked on fenced off, anyway thanks for popping up and reporting.
  17. I tend to agree but am waiting to see what he has done by the end of 2017.
  18. And if they want to ride over here they cannot get a work visa.
  19. And both have the option to amend the contract to suit their needs at the start of the season or not sign it and walk away.
  20. I seem to remember that some of the riders get large signing on fees as well.
  21. The riders are self employed and sign a contract to ride for a club. If the club wants to put a restriction in its contract it is up to the rider to accept or not accept it. I doubt It is illegal to put that clause in the contract but they may need to pay a hell of a lot for a riders exclusivity.
  22. If Poland does bring in this idea that they will only take on riders who limit themselves to riding in two leagues then possibly three or four of these riders will not be in the EL, unless they tell Poland where to go.
