And acting for the overall benefit of the sport even if it means one or two clubs, who cannot or will not adapt, go to the wall.
-
More team news hopefully coming this week
-
Unfortunately a few cannot see that hyderd, they all need to improve the sport together otherwise they will wake up one year and have nothing to do on a wed evening.
-
It would be if all the other clubs either went Championship League or packed it in, then Poole would have no one to race against.
-
That is the trouble Rosco and others must be having with the low team total, which way do they go, strong top couple and weak reserves or a variable balance throughout the team. If Jason was not so good a slightly lower average number 1 would give more strength in depth, time will tell which teams have gone the right way and who has picked riders that have improved.

Lots of people use Swindon as holiday and visitor centre, they use it as it has easy access to the Cotswolds, Bath, Oxford etc and many surrounding attractions.
-
There are more exciting things to do in Swindon and Swindon is a dump. This was as an alternative option to Poole, but I tend to agree it has become a bit naff in the last ten or twenty years.
-
Have been down for the speedway but would rather go to Bournemouth for a day out where there are things to do.
-
That is because there is nothing else to do in Poole
-
Looking at that list Adam Ellis looks good for Swindon
-
Only because Poole were not in the top ten, so to please you SCB may need to do one most 1 - 5s
-
Possibly but if the team are not doing well fans start picking and choosing which meetings to go to anyway. As seen last year the numbers were way down when the opposition is not very good. A lot will depend if this year they can schedule the meetings better, I do not mind missing the odd week but when it got to two or three weeks I am sure others found other things to do rather than speedway on a thursday, especially if the weather was iffy.
-
Kings Lynn seem to have done and benefited from the reserves it has created. But those fans can go to meetings in the week or weeks of gaps when the main team is not riding, look how many weeks this year we had no racing. There may be the odd clash but that would be better than what we had this year.
-
That would be a good idea but the bspa only allow 2 riders from the same team to d/u, also have asked if there is still a rule that a Premier promoter cannot also be a promoter of a Championship team. I am still wondering if we will have a NL team with Stefan and Darryl in it, in which case someone like D Ritchings could be our number 7 and Stefan a replacement rider if needed.

Agree the delays often ruin the night, especially when it is freezing: With riders at the start mucking about: A false start should have a 1 min to start time put on straight away The gates to the pits should not be opened and mechanics not allowed to come out to refuel the bike etc Gaps between races should be reduced Put on a second half if fans want to stay longer, this would help youngsters etc. Apart from fence or airbag renewal or rider injury a 15 heat meeting should only take about 90 mins.
-
Yes which is why I stated earlier that we could possibly have 6 so you are right about the two leagues of almost the same riders.
-
And not a patch with the income they get from their derbies with Edinburgh.
-
I know it might be difficult for Nick but he stated that one of the problems he had this year was the lack of rides he was having which was causing his stagnation, this was also the issue with Justin who needed more rides. An alternative would be that he can get rides in other countries but that can be expensive to set up with the equipment, transport and mechanics needed.
-
Oh well that means we are likely to have 6 d/u then, which could be interesting when we have a fri night away meeting.
-
Thank you for that explanation. May I ask another question, am I correct in thinking one promotion cannot have both a Premier and Championship Club as having both riding at the same track surely would really help the progress of riders from the lower leagues. Sorry to ask this open question on the Cov thread.
-
Would agree, surely most of the reserves would need to earn money in the lower leagues as well as the Premier, then with lots of Championship riders now having moved up, they also need the rides and money from the lower league, or get a part time job.
-
Just waiting to see one or two more riders but I agree with you, a decent line up so far.
-
Looking at the last meeting at Somerset against Redcar David beat both Josh and Rohan in a couple of races so he seems to be ok.
-
But if there is a burger van outside of the track he sometimes tries to visit it during a race.
