Unfortunately smaller than the great track we have at the moment.
-
Cannot remember where I saw one but the new stadium is to the south east of the spectator entrance to the stadium ( bend one) of the present stadium, between the present stadium and the duel carriageway A419. As you drive into the car park keep left and the new stadium will be in front of you.

One is not Jerran Hart is he?
-
That would have been a good move for Somerset and the meetings at Swindon would have been really good.
-
I just hope that the staff at Swindon either have an input or actually build the new track when it is built. It is a specialist job and ideally should be done or supervised by someone who knows what they are doing.
-
That is great but it appears that MCC are announcing the details, if so why?, do they now own the club.
-
Would think so as nothing to the contrary has been mentioned

We keep getting reports from different people about work about to start or progressing and have had now for about three years now so am not expecting a great deal until it actually happens. Individuals report on what they see when they pass or actually visit the site for which I, and I am sure others, are grateful . Fixture lists say 5pm.
-
Well that will be a blow if not held as I was looking forward to that meeting.
-
Thanks for the report, the "workers" were probably all having another meeting in McDonalds.
-
When we have the practice and meet the riders on March 23rd anybody who goes will be able to see if there is any new stadium progress or not.
-
We held a World Cup eliminator meeting at Swindon, would they have needed an FIM certificate for that? I am sure that if Cardiff can get an FIM certificate Swindon which is much bigger can.
-
Agree, at Swindon there is no public transport for youngsters to get home from the stadium after the meeting. When I started going to speedway many youngsters had old cars they used for getting them and their mates around, these days they are too expensive to insure and run.
-
Practice and meet the riders Thursday March 23rd 5.30.

Speedway And The National Press
A ORLOV replied to Skid Sprocket's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Used to look at ceefax or teletext on the tv for the speedway results but they have not shown them for a few years now. -
Would any club want him as so far he seems to have not been that good here.
-
It did on the original plans but then the position of the new stadium was moved so there is now no overlap, the biggest issue will be the space for fans to park, if a lot turn up for a big meeting, as the new stadium is in some of the present car park, which is why it should have ideally been built between the end of one season and the start of the next.
-
I tend to agree if they carry on like they have to date.
-
Thanks for that report ER, I also see that the weather forecast for Feb is not good, and if true there may not be much more progress .
-
I wonder if we will continue to hear the moans when the value of the euro goes below what it was worth at the date of the referendum.
-
They had a meeting at Swindon when they had about 30+ heats and the riders for the next heat were out on the track before the four from the previous heat had left it. If someone went to the loo they missed three heats, so it can be done if the weather is very cold or there is a threat of rain. I would prefer the meeting to crack on and then run a second half if the demand warrants it.
-
When it is bl##dy cold, and it often is at Swindon Stadium, the meeting needs to be rushed through as there is nothing worse than standing around in the cold wind watching the gardening going on or restarts because one rider got away at the tapes. As far as toilet visits or wanting to get a cup of tea staff can pop off to the loo, a couple at a time, when the tractors carry out their racing

There is a thread in News and Discussion but no one has reported any work either on there or here recently.

Guesswork

One slightly better decision this year is the start of the season being in April rather than March, so hopefully slightly warmer weather for the first meeting on April 6th. Just surprised there is no friendly practice meeting prior to the start of the main meetings.
