Gazc replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Any Glasgow fan attending tonight will have the right to come on here and tell it how it is , good , bad or indifferent think it will be the middle one for me but you live in hope. -
That is how a good team go about there business we should take note of how to do it.

Don't think any blame can be levelled at anyone , it is that time of the season that teams are trying to get meetings on when possible to beat cut off dates. -
Nobody said Summers did D/Up it was more a general conversation on the subject that riders going that extra mile for there team is less frequent as they ride for multi teams, It is not as important to them as the next pay day is the next day. Aaron is the exception rather than the rule this season but both him & Richard have been found wanting away from Glasgow on too many occasions this season.
-
Exactly and something has to give as the fans are being treated to a shoddy product because of it.
-
They are not reliable away from there comfort zone at Glasgow. This has been confirmed on too many occasions this season and has cost us further away points.

The average has to go up it cannot stay in it's diluted state that it is currently in , Ideally it should be a 45pt limit but 42.5 would at least mean the league isn't diminished anymore in terms of quality. Averages really should only be used for team positions and a rider draft should be used to build teams, the current system is prohibitive in building and keeping a team that any particular promotion would want. -
I would probably get into bother if I gave you my opinion on that touchy subject.
-
And there is a lot of thinking to be done. Well done on the victory which would probably have been more emphatic had Wright been riding.
-
Quality always comes good on good machinery, the problem is getting him on good machinery consistently.

We are fast becoming the team that are experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory , Nike in heat 8 was a turning point hope nothing too serious but heats 11 & 12 were deciding factors also as you say with the reserves. Our rivals are winning consistently away from home and gathering momentum whilst we have managed to toss wins away at Workington & now tonight simply put we are just not good enough to win this league as it stands. All we need is the excuses to come out now how we had bad luck etc., etc. and we will bounce back or now is the time to produce the goods , the soundbites are so predictable but ultimately we are an ok team but just not a good one. And a big well done to the Bears on the fightback. We should have put a Sheffield race bib on Richard and we might have won, or maybe not. Newcastle on Sunday was marked down as a rare away trip for me this season but why waste the guts of £150 to watch another away capitulation, will be giving it a miss now as bar one or two it would be a waste of my hard earned and you have to feel sorry for those that travelled tonight to watch another inept performance.

I thought it was a very reasoned response and one that firmly hits the nail on the head. You lot appear to be still hurting from something of your own making after all this time. Must be sore.
-
Nice to see you wanting Richard to score heavily very decent of you. Or you may want to edit what you really meant.

Can race as many nights no restrictions apart from the 10pm curfew. Although from a good neighbour point of view this Would be unlikely to happen. -
We haven't a pot to p*ss in nobody tell you.

This maybe a novelty but I think for the first time I agree with something you have said. But don't get carried away it won't last.

The injured rider is always the priority , whilst nobody is happy with the wait last night I am sure 99% were fully understanding of the situation. Getting NHS cover in Possil on a Saturday night was never going to be plain sailing, and I don't even know if this was a consideration when changing race day. But it is what it is this happens in speedway but thankfully not very often just glad to hear Jack is ok. -

Spoon burners only do one sporting event a day. Suppose it wasn't giro week right enough and a Leith postcode rules out a crisis loan. -
No sour grapes Sheffield are the form team and deserve any success they get . it is using guests from your main contenders that make the sport look amateurish , as I say no other sport would do this but it is what it is for now. As for the 20th don't think we will get close this time but you never know.
-
The Lawson guesting for the Tigers of Sheffield has been discussed because it directly involves our club and will have an impact on us as a club , but it is the sport in general that appears to be going down the pan with supporters getting fed up with mickey mouse rules. In what other sport would this scenario crop up none is the answer but just to reply to some of your points raised. Taking the Biscuit / Small Narrow minded - You should start looking a little closer to home before accusing anyone else of this. And in case you hadn't noticed a title quest is something we all set out to win at the beginning we are passing comment on a forum that we feel shouldn't have happened. Earning Potential - Fully understand this but a line must be drawn between money and doing what is right for HIS club , to be honest it is not as if Richard is short of meeting's. Deliberately ask a rider to underperform - Nobody mentioned or even considered this bar you again look a little closer to home with that one. And finally yes we are aware of the play off criteria but your pompous attitude shines through yet again. So on reflection it is the Sport and the silly rules that is the issue and we have highlighted this as another example of how stupid it is. Not Sheffield's fault they are doing what is right for them it is the integrity of this sport which is fast going down the tubes with the guest rules . R/R , D/up , D/down that gets sillier every season. Anyway divert the 20 boxes somewhere not far from us I am sure they will need them before us.

Yep he certainly has and now his performances and scoring will be scrutinised. He has probably helped another team finish above the team that pays his wages.

I am sure he does certainly helped move Sheffield to title favourites. I have a feeling you may see more of him next season. -
Just highlights how stupid this sport can be, no point in signing riders just pick whoever you want. What this can of worms opens is if Richard doesn't perform when his own team visit Redcar I am sure assumptions will be made. Think most fan's are just getting fed up with the whole scenario. In what other sport can your asset ride for your main rival and help them pull even further clear from his own team, it is just beyond farcical now.
