  1. All true. But the original post was just about the type of front cover being used. I too dislike them and would much prefer a return to the use of a single photo related to this week's events rather than photo-shopped image that is just becomingso 'samey' week after week.
  2. I read the Star article on this today and realised just how much they miss their Managing Editor. The article detailed the shambles that the promoters have created with ridiculous variations in regulations across the leagues; but without any enciteful, critical comment that would doubtless have come from Mr. Rising. Shame.
  3. You'd have to be the world's greatest optimist to even think for a single moment that there is anything 'temporary' about this. This is just the beginning; we are in this for the long haul.
  4. It makes you question whether in the act of becoming a Speedway Promoter do these numpties forget all and disengage their brains from remembering what it is to be an actual supporter paying at the gate ? How often is a drawn match likely to be a reflection of a hard fought match that in the end we usually say 'a draw was a fair result' or 'It would be a shame for anyone to have lost tonight'. How often is a drawn match a 'bad result' that needs to be modified by an extra race ? And that after a nominated heat 15 anyway. And with the match points reflecting the away team's success at running so close as well. And a different crappy point scoring for that one race.
  5. Because with just six teams (Two under the same control) you only need 3 or 4 idiots in the Premiership to have a majority to make daft changes for themselves. The sanity within the Championship must keep the nutters at bay.
  6. And it's the dispicable 4-3-2-0 scoring to contrive a definite result. A draw is often a very good and fair result especially for an away side, achieved with a full 7 riders (hopefully). So now it's just down to which team has just the best top two only and the justice/joy of a hard fought draw is lost. Ridiculous to change it. Boils my p!ss.
  7. You jest... But actually I bet there would be a massive take up just to watch the play offs only at the end of the season ... Is this part of a well thought out 'strategy' or just something they have not yet twigged ?
  8. NO one AFAIK ever mentioned 'total target audience' ... Except you. I was just talking about that particular element as mentioned in SS by the people involved, and expanded on by others here.
  9. A lot of fantastical wishful thinking being employed here to justify the operating model they have chosen. Most people remain very 'their team' orientated. That is why so many do not migrate to their next nearest track when 'theirs' closes. If you were a Swindon, Reading or Coventry fan and were amenable to watching teams that were not your own, then the option to go elsewhere was there. And those that did, and continue to do so, may find this good news. Saves travelling. But the so-called target audience are those that didn't want that at all, and were lost to the sport because 'their' team closed; they will remain lost as there is nothing new here that resurrects their dead team for them to be enticed back. Just a load of matches between teams that do not have their interest at all.
  10. No. Bill is at the NSS every meeting.
  11. Just bookmark the news page and start there every time. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/latest-news/
  12. No. That is not what is planned. 30 matches in total (including playoff) and all tracks getting a couple homes at least. So most clubs will just have 2-4 away matches covered.
  13. Well, this SHOULD be positive news. But the devil will be in the detail. Doing all the play off is good. But other matches may be much less enticing; if they have to get a couple from each track in no matter what. No information yet on how this will affect clubs with their own streaming platforms. I happily paid to what several Glasgow meetings last year and was looking to do many more from them this year.
  14. I seem to remember a Speedway rider called Stan Stevens. Am I befuddled ?
  15. Company/Association AGMs are neither traditional or untraditional. They are just AGMs. With specific functions to be carried out. Other General meetings are possible. They are NOT AGMs.
  16. Did they pay someone to write this hogwash ? No AGM.... both teams have until the AGM to declare. Idiots.
  17. It still is a ridiculous system. But Russia were rightful winners AND GB are rightful winners.
  18. I am afraid PC, for all his brilliance in the track, seems to have turned into quite a sour tempered old man.
  19. No. That makes no sense at all. The U21 guy could come in to any race without needing to 'cheat' at all.
