A fairly decent win last night for the Tigs! Being the greedy guy I am we should of had all 4 points though! There was an "accident blackspot" where turn 1 meets turn 2! It caught many a rider out and caused a couple of very nasty crashes, thankfully most people walked away from. Just a note to the home fans, we were cheering the boys getting a 1-5 not the rider that had fell off!!!!! I was very impressed with the track & facilities, would also like to thank the promotion for organising the cold weather to make us feel at home. Richard Lawson looked great and I was impressed with Theo, looked really quick. Some of the referee's decisions were baffling. How he excluded Dmitri when he had gated, was leading as he was about to exit turn 2 and a Scorpions rider took him out(unintentionally is beyond me. Finally on to the centre green rant from the promoter. He said he gave Glasgow permission to speak to David Howe not expecting David to agree to to ride for Glasgow. Then when Glasgow arranged a deal he asked us not to use a guest for James Sargeant. The Glasgow representative said "i'll see what the boss says". The boss obviously wanted to field the strongest team possible so we got a guest which was within the rules. There was no "gentlemans agreement" from what I heard. So when does giving permission to speak to a rider let you make decisions on the rest of the opposing team? Really didn't see what his point was. It is great that he wanted to inform the fans of the happenings but it came across as a bitter man whining!

That wasn't pretty yesterday. The Monarchs deservedly won the meeting. Good to see a decent travelling support through too. If this weekend doesn't whet the appetite for Scottish speedway nothing will. Waiting patiently to see what ridiculous ruling the BSPA come up with to block our new signing. #conflictofinterest

My observations from Newcastle 1) track was rank rotten 2) the ref was inconsistent (didn't have any great bearing on the score but it annoyed me) 3) the tractors were on the track more than the bikes 4) we were let down by a rider who is scoring way below his average 5) hearing "Super Steve Worrall" is particularly annoying 6) some riders need to learn how to get round tight, narrow tracks

So in this instance Richard was a well behaved boy so the race continued and he didn't need to go on the naughty step!!

This is in the context of a racing incident. The machine examiner is responsible for faulty or illegal parts of equipment or machinery & the referee must see if each rider has a dirt deflector on.

The phrase "excluded as being the cause of the stoppage" comes in to play. If there is no stoppage......................

Not really similar at all but I'm bored in work so i'll bite!!! The clash between Richard & Jason was an unfortunate one! RL obviously never meant to knock the chain off. It is the epitome of a racing incident. It is difficult to call. no one came off and the race wasn't stopped.

The incident was almost identical to one a few heats earlier when Compton passed him at the same point and he came off!!! Obviously gets a bit panicky when riders are close to him!!

The Smugs from the East have a habit of that too!!!

Friday night racing in the EL sound good to anyone?

Never "the pole's" fault in a million years! Level pegging going into the corner! Bates lost it! The aftermath was almost as good as the Mayweather fight the other week!

It was a TR disaster! I' d rather a disaster with two riders wanting the best for their team rather than Branford "I turned as hard as I could" & Riss' effort. Also Richard getting brought back in 13 seems to of escaped your all seeing eye! On top of all that we had an NL guest who rode like 00Wolbert did for the majority of last year!! Think we done alright

Masters will probably go through the card undefeated. Cook won't drop many points either. The key men for us will be Dmitri & Kozza. Not holding out much hope for points from Philips(I hope I'm wrong). Looking forward to a good night with all my friends from the East. Lager & laughs are the order of the night!!!!

I seem to recall the snugs having a laugh at us Tigers for needing a tactical to win at Berwick! Needing a tactical and losing must be pretty grim then???? Cookie was great today also! Looking forward to his excuses!

I am very glad to be of some amusement to someone. If you recall Glasgow's plight of the last few years the board members were asked to contribute, as they did and that is why we have a club today. When the (now old)promotion came in two years ago they stated that they did not want the begging bowl to be passed around!! The current situation is great for all involved though I have witnessed both envy and admiration from my friends through there in the East. Your success has come at a cost to the fans and to the owner of Workington speedway(that is how far you begging bowl got round to). The promotion just seem to threaten to shut the club down, let the fans pay to run it then take the plaudits. The extra pound to sit in the stand is desperate though. Can't see Berwick hitting more than 35 tonight

17 quid to get in + another golden nugget to sit in the grandstand. scandalous. Another terrible viewing platform at the "Begging Bowl Arena"!!!

Why is it always about Glasgow? This is a Rye thread so is it not best to keep it that way?

The benefit of an asset is so your club doesn't get fined for having "too weak" an asset list like Glasgow did last year. The wisdom of the BSPA, fining a club struggling financially.

Could be a bit noisy with all the bikes behind you, how will you hear the PA system?

If the plans come through it should be a great place to watch the speedway. May fork out for hospitality too
