  1. I thought the inclusion of JBA was a misprint until I checked the averages. He will play a big part on Sunday. I just hope we are close enough after Friday's meeting.
  2. Good idea. And for some more common sense, Have the Fours & PLRC on a Saturday night(preferably an EL track) to attract more fans!!
  3. Sadly, your geographical position should be the least of your worries.
  4. To be beaten by a team with a wobbler at number 2 and Greenwood at reserve at home is nothing short of shambolic! Poor show from a few riders today! Thank goodness Brady didn't take too well to the track or it could of been embarrassing! Richie Worral should be expecting a fine through the door. Turning left on someone who is almost by you is shocking, the move in heat 14 was worse! He'll never make it pay like they!!!
  5. What do you think the "real reasons" were then?
  6. i'll bite. He was treated perfectly well at glasgow. His attutude & his inconsistency was his downfall @ Glasgow. When vastly experienced guys are saying that he doesn't listen to the advice they give there is a problem. . I wish him all the best. He is a very talented young man.
  7. If Tom Perry was available I'd give him a place! Guested for is a couple of times and looked decent!
  8. If there was more dirt on the track surely it is the riders job to "ride to the conditions". It certainly wasn't the worst prepared I have ever seen the place! It was the same for both sets of riders. Some adapted some didn't!
  9. Did I say it was ALL the tracks fault? Two out of three riders done pretty well!! How many good meetings have you seen at Berwick? Even the meetings we have won have been rotten! Tonight was the worst I have seen it there!
  10. The most surreal thing about tonight was that is wasn't freezing cold! £15 to get in and stand in a stadium is pretty expensive when there is no entertainment! Track was an absolute disgrace! Only disappointed with one Glasgow riders performance! The captain is allowed an off night every now and again! Richard and Nick put in decent scores, didn't expect much from David the two reserves were simply out their depth! Liam Carr went from looking like a wobbler last night to a superstar tonight! Wouldn't like to be watching the bikes go round there every week!!
  11. Do the new promotion not need to work with experienced promoters for a year to understand fully how to run a speedway club? I'm pretty sure Alan Dick stayed on board for the ill-fated Red Revolution
  12. Accept my apologies. I made an assumption the you were a Scorpion's fan.
  13. Favour? Would it not of been worse forcing your all time highest points scorer to sit on the sidelines? As for bullying, one of your fans ran over to us wanting a fight! Real nice welcome!
  14. If the Glasgow promotion are not putting the strongest team out possible they are cheating the fans! This is all "moral high ground" nonsensse! Promoters of other teams have got absolutely no right to dictate how teams visiting their track should line up! First of all not wanting David to ride there then not wanting us to have a guest for James! Get a grip & move on.
  15. This is an interesting post! Why are you talking of bans? Scunthorpe gave Glasgow permission to talk to David. I don't understand this point. Explain "bending over backwards" so we could sign David please? We had permission to speak to David and we agreed a deal. All above board! Are you saying the rule book can be superseded if it suits certain teams? Ridiculous!
  16. All I see here is that Glasgow did not agree to not using a guest. This was well within their entitlement. And more alarmingly, you wanted a team to show up with a weakened team. Speedway fans would much rather watch a close meeting with good racing and get beat than watching a landslide. I understand you have to take care of your own interests but trying to dictate the other team is not on. Even worse than that it seems you are claiming to of done us some sort of favour. If Glasgow were not playing by the rules then the declaration of the team shouldn't of been approved. However, we were playing within the rules. Your good self thinking we owe you something for abiding by the rules is mental. This episode is an example of why we need independent people in the ruling body. Not people who can think "how will this affect my team" or "you can sign him but he can't ride against us" or "if they sign him they might win the league"!
  17. Shock horror, a Monarch jumping on the anti-Glasgow bandwagon! Your meeting reports are more than enough! Glasgow have done nothing wrong or illegal here so stop the stirring!!
  18. A fairly decent win last night for the Tigs! Being the greedy guy I am we should of had all 4 points though! There was an "accident blackspot" where turn 1 meets turn 2! It caught many a rider out and caused a couple of very nasty crashes, thankfully most people walked away from. Just a note to the home fans, we were cheering the boys getting a 1-5 not the rider that had fell off!!!!! I was very impressed with the track & facilities, would also like to thank the promotion for organising the cold weather to make us feel at home. Richard Lawson looked great and I was impressed with Theo, looked really quick. Some of the referee's decisions were baffling. How he excluded Dmitri when he had gated, was leading as he was about to exit turn 2 and a Scorpions rider took him out(unintentionally is beyond me. Finally on to the centre green rant from the promoter. He said he gave Glasgow permission to speak to David Howe not expecting David to agree to to ride for Glasgow. Then when Glasgow arranged a deal he asked us not to use a guest for James Sargeant. The Glasgow representative said "i'll see what the boss says". The boss obviously wanted to field the strongest team possible so we got a guest which was within the rules. There was no "gentlemans agreement" from what I heard. So when does giving permission to speak to a rider let you make decisions on the rest of the opposing team? Really didn't see what his point was. It is great that he wanted to inform the fans of the happenings but it came across as a bitter man whining!
  19. That wasn't pretty yesterday. The Monarchs deservedly won the meeting. Good to see a decent travelling support through too. If this weekend doesn't whet the appetite for Scottish speedway nothing will. Waiting patiently to see what ridiculous ruling the BSPA come up with to block our new signing. #conflictofinterest
  20. My observations from Newcastle 1) track was rank rotten 2) the ref was inconsistent (didn't have any great bearing on the score but it annoyed me) 3) the tractors were on the track more than the bikes 4) we were let down by a rider who is scoring way below his average 5) hearing "Super Steve Worrall" is particularly annoying 6) some riders need to learn how to get round tight, narrow tracks
  21. So in this instance Richard was a well behaved boy so the race continued and he didn't need to go on the naughty step!!
  22. This is in the context of a racing incident. The machine examiner is responsible for faulty or illegal parts of equipment or machinery & the referee must see if each rider has a dirt deflector on.
  23. The phrase "excluded as being the cause of the stoppage" comes in to play. If there is no stoppage......................
