  1. Track is finished ready for racing. Will be a little patchy for the first meeting with over a 100 tons of fresh shale going down. A massive thank you to Karl,Steve and Kevin for two hard days of graft. Spent all day Saturday drying the track out. Then on Sunday finished 3/4. In the after noon our young Polish rider did a few laps 25 in fact and gave it the thumbs up. Thank god we are having this weather if it was wet it would have been very hard to get it ready for next week. Glyn
  2. Everyone who has been to the track are saying that there will be so many more racing lines. This is what I wanted to do. To be able to go into turn three 4 riders side by side and no one crashing. Glyn
  3. It really is up to the weather. We have a few good days coming at the end of this week so fingers crossed the weatherman has got it right.. Glyn
  4. Lets hope the weather gives us break still 60ton of shale to go on. But went by Manchesters new track they have so much to do in 12 days and the weather is giving them little chance. We had snow here in Manchester all day now its raining. Had no shale on two turns Just mud everywhere. Glyn
  5. Wanted upright GM crankcases any condition.
  6. Track work has stopped till I can get 3/4 day window with out rain. I can then remove the mud and put in shale roll it to death squeezing out the water. Start drying out the rest. Glyn
  7. It will be ok to start the bike on and warm it up. I would not use old fuel to ride the bike . I have used old fuel lots of times just to start it and then change it to ride on. Glyn
  8. I think that could be the plan. DH wants it doing but not at the cost of loosing meetings. As I said its a weeks work with good weather. Glyn
  9. Hi, We have had so much rain over this winter its very difficult to get turns 3 and 4 finished. I am not going to dig up 1 and 2 and not be able to get it hard enough to race on. Its a weeks work to do if the weather is good . We have been on 3 and 4 now for 5 weeks. So what I can say is that it will be done when the weather allows us to do it. I put 40 ton of shale on 3/4 and now its like cement slurry. I have another 40 ton to put on but I fear I may have to take most of the wet stuff off at the moment its so wet I can't even pick it up in the tractor bucket. Its like trying to pick up water. Glyn
  10. Re Track. Bends 3 and 4 are now awaiting the curb to go in then the top surface shale to finish. We have had a lot of rain. So we will put the curb in hopefully start next weekend. Bends 1 and 2 will start when this current weather improves. The last thing I want is to have both ends to soft to go racing on. So as I said as soon as the weather picks up we will be on it. Glyn
  11. Just to say a big thank you to Co promotor Dave Darcy who's transport company have paid for the track mods. The cost is in excess of £6000. Thanks Dave.
  12. Big Al . Same drainage as before I just moved them a tad..lol
  13. Marky.... All 4 turns are being done. 3 and 4 are now ready for the top shale. As most of you know the new track at Manchester have had shale ordered for months and with the weather the way its been Breedon can only store so much shale under cover. No one wants to lay wet shale. Turns one and two will be next when the shale is available. (DRY) Hope this answers some questions.
  14. All I am saying is that we could get a pitch on there, but the centre is very up and down. Its never going to happen so don't worry about it.
  15. We could get a pitch on the centre green 45 x 90 meters it just fits.
  16. Been reading the posts and thought I would put this on. Find out the size details of a football pitch. Did you know that not all pitches are the same size? The length of a pitch must be between 100 yards (90m) and 130 yards (120m) and the width not less than 50 yards (45m) and not more than 100 yards (90m). Leicester is 46 meters across.

  23. I was looking at an old tape of a meeting at Reading from the 60's. The tractor was out after heats 3,6,9,12 and then during the second half. So we have got better. Then the bikes moved little dirt now they move about 20ton of shale per meeting to the out side. The tracks are graded for safety and for better racing. If we didn't grade you would be saying that the track is badly prepared and more riders would be injured. Glyn
  24. Start time was delayed due to the crowd still lined up out side. Seriously!
