If you use a lot of clay you need good drainage. Poole has no drainage at all.

The shale going on a Poole is proper stuff not cheap rubbish. Its a speedway blend to our specification . The other 10% is limestone 6mm to dust. Glyn

Now that the weather has been a little better and things are drying out nicely I am laying down some new shale for next weeks meeting. This new material is a blend of clay and shale 70/20 20% being the clay content. This should change everything and get the racing lines back after a meeting or two to mix it up with the current surface. Glyn

Just to set the record straight . I did not speak to any sponsors last night. The track is still soft in parts so it very difficult to water on such a warm and windy day.

Thanks Starman I couldn't be there today as I had a previous engagement prior to getting the track job. Looks like it held up well I will be there tomorrow afternoon to put back into shape. Before the rain comes on Thursday night Friday morning. Glyn

I would like to thank all the track staff, they put the air fence up yesterday which was a massive job in the conditions. The track held up ok. Needs a week of good weather to harden the surface up. The guys helping yesterday were great, a lot of knowledge so they were telling me where there are small problems with the surface that appear during a meeting. The rakers are there week in week out and see things with the track that most don't see, so working with them will be good. Glyn.

Its not from Breadon. I don't know if I will be doing the track all season. Matt has a few things to sort out first. But I would like the job.

The other tracks have my number and I have no axe to with any off them. Ask me I will tell them.

They supplied the new base shale which was a 60/40 mix with is about 150mm deep and compacted. Gave a great base to work from.

We have found a supplier of red shale who will mix it to what ever mix you want.

To TSC1. If you know the facts could please share them with me as I don't have a clue. There was no argument or any thing like that. I was just told Job over end of. Glyn

It may come as a surprise to some but given the opportunity, I would be back. I have no hard feelings towards the new management. They have their reasons I guess for doing what they did though I have no clue what they are. I love Leicester, I enjoyed my time there, and was hoping I would be continuing to prepare the track this season as I felt the changes we made would make the racing so much better and that the fans would be getting the race track they deserve and have waited for. To me, it has always been about the track as at the end of the day, that is the stage that the riders entertain the fans on. Glyn

David has a lot of good racing left in him. Hope he gets a chance.

Just for the record we took 6 meters off the inside of turns 1 and 2 this is at the apex of the turn and the new length is 300.1 meters. Glyn

What happens when the Brits are faced with the same problem in Poland.

The track work is not finished. Still a bit to do . Drains need to be finished off, the track surface needs to harden up. We can't get any shale for 6 weeks as the clay pits have a water problem.So we are trying to find an other supplier. But all in all its 90% finished and the airfence is up. A great job and very good day from the volunteers . So with a bit of good weather this week and some shale we are hoping to be ready very soon. Glyn

No misunderstanding, that was the situation when Keith Chapman (BSPA) was going to be running the speedway. The New management have since asked me to return and I was more than happy to accept. There are some pics on the FB page. Glyn
