First of all a massive WELL DONE to Woffy for winning the World Championship again. He was the consistent standout performer this year and thoroughly deserved to win. Wow, what a meeting....Most organisations leave the best till last, and BSI done just that in keeping Torun till the end of the season . Just shows what superb speedway and brilliant excitement can be dished up when everything is right. Really does put those purpose made tracks to shame..... Me in my dream world, when thinking of our own purpose stadium being built in Manchester, we can have a similar venue, where every meeting will be special..... But in the real world there's no guarantee the track will work the same way..... If I was in charge of building our new showpiece, I'd take a team of surveyors over to Poland, to reprecate every detail of that track. It is that perfect. It is the only track when missing the gate doesn't matter. You will always have a chance of winning. If our new showpiece can serve up speedway, half as good as we saw last night, I'll be well chuffed...... We've already had enough Gate and Go tracks to last a lifetime.....

Depends whose asking?? He ought to be a 7 or 7.5 at least, but no doubt Matt could wangle him on a 4. And the BSPA would say well done that man......
-
I agree about having another big hitter in the team, and unfortunately that is where KB was. You can guarantee Rory will be in there somewhere..... and I cant see there's room for both him and KB........ AJ would be a wonderful acquisition, no doubt every club would want him....

Poole Vs The Aces For The Title
g13webb replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What is it with some referees that they love to cause controversy . There are a few good ones, but unfortunately they are out numbered by the poor ones. Its the same with every sport and the best ones are those who do their job quietly and efficiently. Everyman and his dog saw Newman having problems with his goggles, and the Ref. SHOULD have sorted it even without the need of a protest. The fact he let it go was mindless. a desertion of duty. To give an excuse like he did just highlights his uselessness. Once the race had finished and recorded, the offence was gone. Poole didn't cheat, just another example of them benefitting from bad decisions.... The result has to stand....... End of..... -

You're way off there. In the first pick, the numbers of available riders was much less than that. When it was eventually our turn, we choose the best rider of those that remained. Struggling like he had, he then decided to pack the sport up soon after. That shows how insecure he felt of his own ability..... The reason we then waited to name a replacement, was because there was little else to choose between the riders left on the list. We even thought of using Stokes from our NL team, but he would have been way out of his depth. When Morris returned from injury it was decided to chance him, hoping he would show some form.... but bearing in mind his own club decided against using him, the odds where really stacked against us being successful. -

Steady on now, No need to go overboard...... You and a lot of others seem to forget the underhanded way the season started in Poole's favour, If it wasn't for the hypothetical ruling of placing last years FTR in order of their PL average. Newman (being the best rider last year) would have been top of the list in tier A, therefore making Poole have last choice of tier 2 riders. I cant imagine Poole would have won the championship if their 2nd tier rider was Ashley Morris for example... especially if Newman had suffered the same fate, like Kerr has done..... For those who have forgotten, their wasn't enough tier 2 riders to go round, and as last pick, we had to wait until someone became available... Sure leaves a bad taste in ones mouth, especially as Starke has been so instrumental of Poole's success. But its good to put things into prospective... I wonder what straits, the draft riders will take next year ?????? -

I love this sort and the last thing I wanted, was too see Poole wining the Championship again. I have a long memory and cannot forgive or forget all the shunts, and damage Ford has done to our sport, in a divine belief, he can do as he likes in pursuit of success . I despise that man and all his followers with a vengeance. That said, I am not naive, to realise, that there are many genuine speedway followers among the thousands who support Poole, and to them I say well done. I have nothing but praise for the riders who go out and perform each week. People on here will have notice I constantly rave after Janowski. What a talented rider and also a perfect gentleman. Again I congratulate all the riders for putting on a wonderful final, both at BV as well as Poole. I also acknowledge that Poole always have a strong team with that winning mentality, and in that instance, probably more teams should follow their lead. I would like nothing more than to win that blasted title, so it that case I envy you. I'll finish by giving all those genuine Poole people, a massive WELL DONE .. PS One day it might be our turn, but don't hold your breath........ -
Whatever Has Happened To Coventry's Appeal?

I had been thinking that our sport can't get much worse than it is at present, but I was wrong...... As this shows it just gets more deceitful by the day..... Terrible outcome..... They're all Gutless wonders, afraid to stand up and be counted.... You watch My Back !!!!!!! -

Had it been anyone else then, Yes they COULD do that. But as its effects Poole, then it will be swept under the carpet. Again another inefficient refereeing decision that inhibits the sport.. Hard to knock Newman as he was a bit special. Takes me think back to last years AGM when he was declared as the 7th best FTR in the league (what a joke!!), just so Poole could have first choice of Starke. That scam, sure came home to roost last night...... Wonder what form of rider order will be employed next year, ??? Got really fed up with Tatum telling the ref what to do..... Thought BV shot themselves in the foot. The 2 reserves and Fricke weren't good enough for a final, but their top riders got it back to level. Poole's HL's weren't very good either, but their Reserve's and the Ref, got them out of jail. Wonder what shunt, Ford will pull in the 2nd Leg?????? -
Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
g13webb replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Betts, Turner , Hellsen wasn't a true reflection on the HL standard of clubs in the British League. They were one of the poorest selections and hence we never won much anything....... Michael Lee came on the scene soon afterwards, and made a tremendous difference. Still didn't win the league though, but the entertainment was magically... -
A challenge? No just common sense... Never have I read such rubbish from deluded posters as I have on this subject. You come on here preaching the gospel according to Saint Matt Ford, as though he is the greatest person to walk this earth. So let me assure you, he is no saint in my eyes. Because of his previous history and stunts he pulled, he is a person I dislike intensely. He don’t give a damn about the sport or the people he offends. His only concern is Matt Ford and Poole speedway. Sod anyone else who gets in his way. This latest stunt is amazing, in that the BSPA and the MC have allowed it to happen. A Speedway Rider is not like any other profession, he is self-employed and his sole aim is to ride bikes. The replacement rules are quite explicit, and everyone expects riders to race every match, that is with the exception of when injured or incapacitated. That’s how it has always been. For Poole to be given a facility to use a guest when his rider is not injured, will now set a president for the future and riders will be able to withdraw from any meeting they don’t feel up to. Yeah, I know he was given a ‘Doctor’s Certificate’, but they’re 10 a penny and mean nothing. When I go to our local Surgery, there’s a list inside the door of all the costings of various certificates. The simple plain one from the Doctor cost £18.50, and industrial one costs £35.00. It’s purely a money spinner and means nothing. I wonder how long it will be before we hear, Sorry fans, ‘Rider A’ had a real bad Headache, and the Doctor advised him not to fly, But don’t worry we have someone else, ‘Rider B’ taking his place in the team. Before long, teams will be able to field who they like, and whatever fans left, will have no connection with them at all. Thank Matt Ford for that…… The said accident to North Sen. is unfortunate, and I feel for the family. But if Ford wanted to show compassion, he could have rested Dakota and brought in a PL 6pointers for the 2nd leg against Coventry’s depleted side. Everyone would have applauded him for his gesture. But this is Matt Ford we are talking about. He has no compassion, he cares nothing of how Dakota was feeling. All Matt Ford was concerned about was his lack of scoring in the first leg. Bringing in Kennett was corrupt and bent the rules, from what they were intended, but it added illegal strength to the side. This point was highlighted when…. Mildo, the puppet that he is, was asked ‘Would Kennett be riding in the final’ he replied we haven’t decided yet, Not we will wait to see how North is feeling…… Any rider, Dakota North included, will always want to ride a bike. They know nothing else. It becomes second nature to them. Every rider who experiences problems will tell you they need to get back on the bike SAP. If North had received bad news, he would have wanted to ride, just to get away from the traumas inside his head. Make no mistake, Ford did what Ford wanted and had nothing to do with the feeling of Dakota. He was used merely as an excuse….. A speedway supporter of many years, I have the utmost respect for all riders, including those at Poole. It is a wonderful sport that creates much excitement. Poole was once a genuine club that everyone respected, but not anymore. Ford has seen to that. Every other speedway supporter in the land feels the same way towards them, and they can’t all be wrong. We have been called Idiots, we have been called Jealous, in fact we have been called many uncouth names. But it doesn’t matter. It’s such a pity that Fords disciples can see no further than the end of their noses, because they would then all see the wrongs he contently does… I don’t tar all the Poole supporters with the same brush……… But they’re a bloody lot I do…

Well done to the Aces, who thoroughly deserved their success. They rode like a team, who had jelled together, and performed like is was the most important race of the year. Swindon, what a let down. I sense, there are too many under currants going on we can't see, The performances of Batch and Killer were disgraceful, a real let-down for any team, let alone in a POSF. Rosco doesn't seem to have any control or to care much of what is going on. All you hear from him is lame excuses. A real shame really for the Swindon fans. Every team wants to be successful, and when that time comes, the fans want to see that effort from the riders. Defeat is hard to take, but can be accepted far easier when they can see the team as tried. When some, just roll over as if it meant nothing, then you have to question your own logic about going......
-
What I find so annoying, Poole are the best equipped side in the Elite league and would usually win most 2 leg matches against anybody. Looking at the quality of their riders, they are far better than any other team and as Mildo says they have tremendous strength in depth. Every imaginable piece of luck always goes their way. Coventry with injured riders will struggle to contain the Pirates at Wimbourn Road, and Poole could have so easily covered North absence with RR. and still win. Bending the rues to ensure success destroys everything. I for one couldn't give a T--- now who wins. As per usual Ford and his BSPA compatriots have F-----d up again.
-
What I find most disconcerting, is all the home posters on here, going overboard trying to convince us , and themselves, Poole has done nothing wrong. We all know that had North be in the form of his life and scoring double figures every meeting, he would be riding in the 2nd leg. Ford wouldn't allow him to be missing, regardless of the issues. The facts remain that Ford is utilising a loophole in the rules to better his team. In cheating the rules, cheating the sport and cheating the fans, he is undermining everything the season has stood for. The biggest concern to me, is that the BSPA and MC do nothing about it...... No wonder the sports in the gutter........
-
For the genuine fans of Poole Pirates, I feel for you. Time and again Matt Ford pulls these stunts thinking only of bending the rules for success, He is not aware that it destroys people interest in the sport. The MC must take some responsibility for their reluctance see through these many scams. Winning doesn't mean anything if you have to cheat to achieve it. Allowing Poole to pull these stunts, makes a mockery of the whole sport, and deems any success as worthless....

I don't take too much notice of Tatum, him being so bias towards Poole. Wouldn't surprise me if he was Poole's no1 supporter. As for the 2 semi's I think it would be wrong to criticise BV for the way they performed this week, Brandon may have been more exciting, but only because two teams turned up to fight, whereas Monday, Swindon were so disappointing. I don't see it being obvious as to who would be favourite to win the final. Lets not forget, Poole selected Coventry in the semi's, believing they were the easiest option. so they won't be keen to go to KL in the final....... Still all to play for.... .
-
Well... really enjoyed that 1st leg. That's how speedway meetings should be every week. Riders giving their all, the scores going one way then the other, a big crowd generating exciting atmosphere. reminds me of the good ole days.. . Some riders didn't score the points they would have like, but you couldn't fault their effort. North will never ride harder and not score. Brilliant effort. Although most races were won from the gate, the meeting had these special races scattered amongst them to keep everyone happy. Garrity's ride in ht 5 was epic. Most of the riders played their part, non more so than Hans Andersen. Rubbished on many occasions by Bee's fans this year, he came to the table when it mattered. A truly majestic performance that has kept Coventry in the match. Poole are still favourites to go through. but after this tight finish of the 1st leg, it wont be as plain sailing as they would have liked.
-
Now that's feasible.......
-
A wet track is a great leveller, and therefore will be to Poole's advantage. There are be many variants that could push the result either way. Injuries to riders, input from the guests, Team managers, but at the end of the day I believe it will be very close and could go to the last heat. I think Poole start as favourites but I have no doubt that Coventry are more than capable of beating them home and away..... Key rider clashes: Bomber against Magic... Garrity against Newman..... each of their points will have a big bearing on the outcome of this match. Prediction: Coventry 48 - Poole 42.

A strange comment this. Last year, riding for the Stars, he was one of the top 2nd group FTR in the league, A good gater, solid team man, and a rider who was learning fast from those around him. He was a rider we desperately wanted to keep. Such are these supplementary rules, aimed at club fairness, Lewis's progress was disrupted and forced to ride elsewhere. Surely, in this day of age, Riders should have say as to where they want to ride and not be subject to this dictatory approach. The move to Swindon hasn't done Rose any favours. Hopefully we can have him back next year, whence he can recapture his obvious talent .
-
Thinking out loud as I often do, I'm fearing that the return of both Rory and Kerr to the team could be the defining decisions that dictates the outcome of next season for the Lynn Stars.......As much as I feel for both riders and want them to fully recover from their misfortunes, to include them both into a team could be a massive gamble. It would be wrong of the team to endure the added pressure of them in the quest of being successful. Probably, it would be best to put any aspirations of winning that elusive title, on hold for another year, giving both, them and the Club time to get back on track of building that league winning team.......

Posf1 - Belle Vue Aces Vs Swindon Robins, 14 Sep 2015

Why is all this nastiness and discretion aimed at Zagar?. He is one of the good guys and has performed admirably all season. We want to attract more riders of his calibre into our league, and questioning his injuries or commitment is not doing anybody any favours..... If Belle Vue had the choice of a fit Zagar or a guest, they would choose Zagar every time...... -

I agree, an excellent performance.... Call me sceptical, but I always feel there could be a few Secret Agents about. Even now, forgetting Darcy at Swindon, and Milik at Lynn, Josh at Belle Vue is well placed to be called a upon, if the need be necessary... Just hope Josh proves me wrong and scores well in the Final, and puts that Monkey to bed......... -
Wrong again......... .. I'm not a Grumpy git, far from it. enjoying a retiring life..... 'Screamer' pointed out what you actually meant, but no doubt there were a few who would have thought you were referring to me. But no worries, these things happen. If our paths ever cross, I'll be more than happy to buy you a drink and show there's no ill feelings ..... .... Cheers...
