I wish I was as confident as you about that.......

i will be much happier when Poole annouce their final rider. I wonder why the delay !! Could it be that it's not so automatic as some seem to think. Could it be the last name was someone like Batch, or even Lambert, which would really screw any aspirations that the Stars fans may have. They have enough points to play with ?? Matt Ford is a lot of things but stupid he is not. No doubt, allowing Holder to go would have to be compensated. But surely Lyons isn't stupid enough to fall into that trap of letting his Star asset go ... Could be a long week.....

If the Lynn team included Holder, Batch and Lambert as heat leader, that would be equal to anything in the league. To have them in the races at the business end of the meeting would make Lynn very formidably. The Second strings of Porsing, Huckenbeck and Rose will be comparative with any of the teams named so far. Porsing and Huck. are both very capable and will only get better. Their averages are low but their talent is high. I see no reason why they both won't improve their average significantly. Giving them the opportunity on fast bikes they will surprise a lot of people... Lewis Rose was always going to come good. Sharp gater, smooth style, all he needed was an injury free run. After 3 years of troubles, last year he showed the progress we had all expected. Elevated into the team proper he still scored valued points and achieved a creditable average from his 1-5 position.. I see no reason why this form wont continue . I'm not silly enough to predict success from the off, but at least this year we should be in with a shout for those Play-Off places from the start, and that's something we haven't been able to do for a few years now....

Some of the comments appearing on these pages are unreal. Posters questioning the status of Chris Holder as if he was mear club racer. Chris Holder is a World Class rider, probably ranked in the top 5 of the world. There are few equal to his talent, and KK and Andersen don't come into that category. Ok he may have struggled with his form early on last year, but didn't he come back really strong. Considering the physical and mental problems he's had to endure in recent years I would suggest he has recovered remarkably well. I for one think Matt Ford has dropped a real clanger. With Chris Doyle recovering from a bad injury, No NKI, No Zagar, No AJ, I see Holder being top spot and filling his boots every meeting. There's an old saying: 'You don't kill the Goose that lays a Golden Egg' and that's what Ford has done by getting rid of him.....
-
The only reason Holder has this high average is because of the 1.4 calculating process. It is obvious his score will reduce because of that. Riding last year at No1 he averaged 8.90 against a far harder standard and format then he will in 2017. He will again be one of the top rider competing and I have no doubt he will finish the season with a higher score than last year. We have been fortunate and privileged these past few years to watch one of the sports great riders in NKI, In Holder we will have the chance to see one of the few riders able to replace the hole Niels has left......

A good article in the SS this morning from Armando Castagna explaining the rules that the Polish Speedway have initiated. He went on to say the authorities have not broken any rules, and that the riders would have to had signed a contract in agreeing with the 3 Club Rule. Putting aside the 2 top paying leagues namely Poland and Sweden, most of the Danes will ride their Danish home league making the total of 3. But riders like Holder and the other Aussies have a more open options, making it possible to ride in our league... Have heard a few whispers that Holden is destine to ride for the Stars..... Fingers crossed this is correct....

I was aware of some restrictions, but I suspect that's more than enough opportunity......

Considering the location of the Leicester track, probably the noise factor could come into play if the club wanted to practise during the day.!!! Am just trying to evaluate the situation, but am hoping, Leicester gets all the help they require to make it a going concern.

With each team that is announced for 2017, it is quite a relief that the riders, a lot of supporters have earmarked for the Stars quad are still available, giving us plenty of reasons to be optimistic and enthusiastic about our hopes for the coming year. The location, Holder chooses to ride, really holds the key for many teams. Of the 3 remaining, namely Belle Vue, Leicester and Kings Lynn they can all offer him top status to lead the team . Thinking about the track, Airport and facilities then BV must come high on the list. If he wants a real challenge then Leicester really does need a talisman to lead from the front and encourage the team forward. But if he wants to ride for a solid club with their own track then it will be Lynn. there are not many track abouts that are open everyday to practice and getting the bike set up for the meetings in Europe. All Clubs will have to meet his financial demands, but am hoping the track availability will swing it... Although I had hoped he would come to Lynn, my original thought was Somerset. Now they have announced their side, my next fear is BV. Fingers crossed...

You 're a bit adrift of what was being said. We known what the format (2017) is, we were discussing the option of having Holder on board for that season. My response was talking of the format to be use in (2018) and nobody knows that yet......... Please keep up if you wish to post an opinion
-
Nobody knows of the format or the rules for next year. The only reason Holder has a high average is because of the loading put on Elite riders. I think it is wrong of you to tar all riders with the same brush. Having been dropped this year I cant imagine Holder would be too keen on helping Matt Ford out as you say. Holder needs to earn a living wage and will score plenty of points.... I'm of no doubt that if he rides in the Premier next year he will be one of the top riders....... No worries.......
-
The signing of a strong No1 is paramount and Holder fits the bill perfectly. This would come at a financial cost of some stature. This being the case then other positions in the team will have to be adjusted accordingly. No doubt Rose would be a much cheaper option than Hansen, but not so much of a gamble, so bearing in mind the No1 importance, Rose inclusion seems quite a safe bet... At the end of last season, when talking with Batch, he said I'll see you all next year. he continued that he still has some boxes to tick!!! So from that I gathered he intends to ride here next year. I appreciate nothing is cast iron facts but if your intention is here than we are half way to a contract.... Speedway at Lynn wouldn't be the same without Robert Lambert. He needs Lynn as much as Lynn need him. This should be the year when he cements himself as a true NO 1 in the sport. With the right attitude and equipment, he could become unbeatable, and next year when Poole will want Holder back, we would already have a perfect replacement. If we can get those three, plus the 2 already mentioned, then adding Holder and a new reserve to the mix we would have a strong team, that others would be aware of and a top 4 place could be achievable.
-
I may be wrong, but I don't see it that way !! Incorporating Lawson in, on a high 8.22 average, undermines the good work of bringing in Porsing and Huckenbeck on much lower scores.. Michelsen would be an option, but a far bigger risk than using Rose, who in my opinion is a cert team member.... The big question mark still remains , who will be our No1.?? The naming of Somerset team on Monday might answer a few question. It will take a few riders out of the shop window, if nothing else.
-
Now you're being too transparent. We're talking about the BSPA here, nothing is that simple..... I've always had this feeling that rules are worded so they create loopholes... Buster is doing OK and hopefully he will eradicate these issues, but Rome wasn't built in a day...
-
I suppose you will want him to run the meetings as well. It's so easy to sit back and do nothing. The track work is a menial task in view of the situation at Leicester. Lets get the place up and running first before we start moaning about the shape of the track.....
-
If there were more people like Buster involved with this sport, we would be in a far better position than we are at present....
-
Am I wrong in thinking positive. With young Holder signing for the Panthers, it wouldn't be much more of an issue if both, he and his brother, were based in this area. Thinking along those lines I am more confident now that Chris could be our new No 1 .... Fingers Crossed
-
Hope, is sometimes all we have to hang on to, but It appears our prayers have been answered. Thank you you to all those involved... Onwards and upwards.....
-
In these dark and unfortunate days we see, when talking about this sport, it is nice that one team does it right. You can alway rely on Poole to field a decent team and as per normal they will provide the bench mark all others teams have to match..... My heart goes out to all the Bees supporters, who have been one of the longest surviving clubs, operating from the same venue for more years I care to remember. What a shame that the situation has descended into this chaos, especially when we need as many clubs as possible to keep this sport alive. Thinking of all the Bees Supporters...and hope an answer can be found soon....
-
A good, expected signing. Talented Danish rider who will improve. More than capable of reaching WSC status.... I expect him to go well.....
-
No doubt they placed Liverpool as the best place....... It is said they have a lot of bridges to build..... When I read the Sun, I even question the date ?????

As much as I wish everyone the best when doing a new job, the bombshell Buster has dropped is massive. Buster was everything to the smooth running of Kings Lynn Stars. He was the Owner, the Decision maker, the Finance Manager, he was the man who made all those decisions base on his ability and affordability of them. its all very well handing over the promotions to Rob Lyon but would that include all his financial responsibility that goes with it... or will Rob have to go to Buster everytime for a direct answer. After all most people don't want to deal with the Organ Grinder... Not only will they want straight answers but they also want confidence when dealing with big monies with people and businesses.. Rob Lyon may have been a successful Team Manager, but being a Promoter is and entirely different proposition. Like I say I wish him well I was pleased when Buster got the BSPA Chairman's job, thinking he was the man to take the sport forward....... But if I'd known it would have resulted in losing him at Lynn then I wish he hadn't been successful.... This has cost Lynn big time........

After the information that the Stars will be announcing their first rider this week, each day is treated with optimism that this is the day. But true to previous it was always expected to be the last day of the week. So Friday is the day, but who will be the first named rider? Will they take the easy option and choose one that we all assume will be riding? or will they go for a rider who was questionable whether he stayed or goes.? .. I don't expect we will get the name of a major signing, they will want to keep that under wraps till the Supporters meeting, But it needs to be someone of high importance to show other teams our intentions, plus keeping the fans interested. My guess, and hoping, it will be Robert Lambert
