Rye House Vs Swindon 08.04.17

Hands up, I got that totally wrong. Thought RH would be better than that, Plus Swindon benefitted big time using RR. But well done to the Robins !!!! -

I don't think Swindon have enough race winners to trouble RH. Doyle and Morris need to win all their races to be in with a shout, and I cant see them doing that. Comfortable RH win... -

I think this is a good time to ride against Poole, with them starting the season quiet shakey . For this reason I can see Leicester capalising on their good start with another close win. If Poole go home with a bonus point then they shoud be pleased... Gone are the days when Poole results were foregone conclusions, and that has to be good..... -
Plus against Belle Vue the following week. All will give a much clearer picture of their capability..

King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership

Back in the 70's there were 12 different entry points all able to take the admission. Now, the cost are much more of an issue where added security is a major concern,. But saying that, if people got there early enough there would be no problem..... -

Swindon V Belle Vue. 06/04/17.

I also think Swindon are up against it with this meeting. They need to firing on all cylinders to stand any chance of success here. BV have this solid look that can provide many match winners. It wouldn't surprise me if BV go home with all 4 points.. -
There's no need to be personal. I have never commented on a replacement, This wasn't the point of a discussion. My point was I thought he Riss was unlucky to be disqualified in the way he was, and that the Ref could have used his digression better in a contest that was very tight. The points that Riss lost, could have made a massive bearing in the overall result... You trying to turn it into something its not, is not necessary

I bet they're plenty of 'Daft riders' who don't know all the rules..... But no doubt the Ref will put that right...... -
You say Riss should have known better, but do you really believe he thought going round the edge of the starting gate was the same as going across the centre green and was indeed an disqualification. offence.. I very much doubt it. As in all sports, sometimes teams don't get the result some deserve and many reasons can be attributed. In this instance when the 2 teams were separated by a single point, even the smallest discrepancies has massive implications..
-
That just highlights how pedantic how sport has become. The reason the rule was first introduced was for H&S issues when riders nipping ACROSS the centre green either to get to the Tapes on time, or when taking a short cut back to the pits when the races were finished... The incident at Wolves when Riss was excluded was for neither of them reasons, but it gave the ref the opportunity to use his digression. What a pity he saw it the way he did. Sometimes, common sense should come into play rather than being the Kill-joy all the time. Just a thought to all those posters who think Riss exclusion was correct, do you honestly believe , going round the end of the start gate warrants disqualification... And you wonder why fans don't come anymore....

Interesting one this !! Althhough I see RH winning, I sure Swindon will ask a few questions. RH have a good solid team, all capable of winning races whereas Swindon rely too heavily of Doyle and Morris. I think those two will keeps the score close but they can't ride in every race. RH to team ride to victory... Predict : RH by 8 -
I dont think there will be a lot in this, home or away. Poole are not the dominate force as of other years. and BV usually travel well, so I will be most surprised if there are more than a few points, either way. The return at BV could be much the same. the NSS is a place where most races are close and exciting, so Poole should be thereabouts.. I believe the result of the 2 meetings will be close and exciting. That's the way it needs to be to bring back all those supporters the sport once enjoyed.....

Confucius always said ' you can always find an excuse when you are looking for one', so whose fault it is becomes irrelevant The fact remains that the Promotion and Fans have different ideas. The fans want a quick efficient meeting with little or no delays, whereas the promotions want as many hold-up as possible to enabling to milk the length of the occasion. The answer has to be some-form of go between of the two. The problem though, is that the fans will only take so much. whence they reach the point of enough, then it becomes too late... I hope common sense prevails and that point is never reached...
-
Obviously its not clear enough, Do you think Riss would have done that if he realised he was not allowed to ? Surely he's not stupid...... No doubt he will not do it again, but probably it should have been explained how serious offence it was, instead of assuming he knew... In instances, like you say, the Ref needs to make a decision of who fell off first, Usually that's a good indication ....
-
What are the specific rules?? Did he cross the Centre Green? or did he just go on the edge? are the rules explicit enough? These are all relevant points,, But does the penalty fit the crime? Why it is always the fans who pay for the misdemeanour ???..... . Why not deduct a point from his score, instead, but don't takeaway from the fans the opportunity to see him race.... . That's what they pay to come and watch..
-
What about; the ridiculous exclusion of Riss for putting a wheel on the centre green when going round the tapes?? or did you forget about that.....
-
It appears to be these silly, stupid rules rescued Wolves last night. From all accounts Leicester deserved to have won, But as normal, it was the sport that shot it self in the foot again. When these rules were talked about and later initiated, so it be possible for the crowds to applaud the rider after a race had finished, Not for the referee to use it as a massive stick to alter results.. Surely Ref do have common sense........ Sometimes Ridiculous situation... Wolves saved by a stupid rule.....
-
One day even the BSPA will eventually realise that. The whole sport has been shouting this for years.
-
We'll see .. You don't win 6 out of 7 rides, finishing second in a SGP without being a class rider. Sometimes his attitude is questionable, but never his ability..

King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership

I cant see this being anything other than a comfortable home win. Probably had this been later in the season, and riders in the groove probably the Rebels would benefit more than now when everybody is chomping at the bit to get the season going . I think our top 3 will be too strong......Rohan Tungate, Paul Starke, Charles Wright, Patrick Hougaard and Josh Grajczonek can all ride the AFA well, but nowhere near the level of Holder, Lambert nor Batchelor . I think this will be a bridge too far... at the moment anyway.... -
Form is only temporary, whereas Class is more permanent. Batch and Bjerre have always been class performers, Sometimes confidence deserts them and form falters but the ability is always there.. The trouble with some posters, they tend to write them off to quickly......
