  1. I have no problem with riders missing meetings when they're injuried, but its when the rider picks and chooses the meetings he's misses I have a problem with. We heard loud and clear that Robert had broken his wrist and will probably miss the SWC. From that statement, we would have assumed he would miss both of Lynn's meetings this week. understandably. My view would be to miss the SWC and concentrate getting fully fit ASAP. But when we hear he went to ride in Sweden on Tuesday, we can only assume the wrist is not broken and he is not as bad as first told, which is good... But why was the announcement made in the first instance.... Some say ' we had nothing to race for on Monday' was irrelevant. but you cant pick and choice which meetings you race. By riding on Tuesday, he really let his team mates at Lynn down Monday night...... You expect better than that from your Captain......
  2. The tracks at Kings Lynn and Poole are a world apart. OK, they are both usually 'Gate and Go' but compared to the ruts at Wimbourn Rd , the AFA is a Mill-Pond. The only problem we have is the crap shale that Buster uses.... Probably this being a World stage, Buster will excel himself and provide a racing surface we all know the track is capable of supplying...... Steve Worrall usually go very well and only recently score double figures in BV win over KL. There should be no worries about Steve in the team...
  3. We stand little or no chance of winning the SWC, so why risk further damage for the sake of unimportant meetings..... Surely Lambert would be better to rest up and let the wrist heal, than enduring to persevere and making the injury worse. Had this been the Final or an special meeting I would understand. Riders like Woffy and Hancock can't even be bothered and they're fit.. I suggests he stays by the pool with his girlfriend, like he posted on the Social Media and gets fit...
  4. Not being there it's hard to makes comments of any relevance except by the scores. This must go down as a good result for the Stars as it was much closer affair then I imagined. Something about this fixture in that we always go there with riders missing. Whether this is down to luck or bad luck who knows, but just for once, it would be interesting to see a match where both teams were at full strength. Pleased for the Wolves fans that this was a closely fought match, and it was only toward the end that Wolves pushed home their advantage. To me nothing is worse then looking at a foregone conclusion... Batch and Rose scored well, as did Jorgensen . RR and Ayres done their bit , but from a former World Champion , you don't expect 3 NS... Shame that, he never has liked that track.,
  5. As a neutral, I thoroughly enjoyed tonights meeting. I never thought it would be a classic, but close scores kept it interesting. From all the teams I have seen this year, Belle Vue have impressed me the most. Led by Capt. Cook and ably assisted by Bjerre, they seem to have most heats covered and are a hard tem to beat. Poole, although weakened by injuries, were always 2nd best. The 2 young Aussie served them well but they were missing KK and last night HA The team will improve when them two are back and will be in the reckoning when it counts. What a shame they have to race on that track. It's an accident waiting to happen. Each time they race I pray nobody gets hurt. The times riders were shutting off or having to control a bouncing front wheel was alarming.....
  6. The fact that there is no thread for the second leg of the KO cup, probably indicates that Wolves are as enthusiastic about this match as we are..
  7. Every man and his dog knows Rose is not in Lamberts class. There're not many riders of his age who are. The fact that you want to compare them is in deed a compliment to Lewis Rose . Probably if you compared Rose with someone of lesser talent, you'd realise just how important Rose is to the Stars.... It would be of similar comparison if you compared Lambert with the likes of Dudek or Smarzlik
  8. I appreciate that. If you read my post I did say 'Kicking on to 9', which is in affect a good 8. There are a lot of riders on 7 half that are no considered anywhere near Lambert talent.... This is not a persecution of Lambert, merely stating a comparison, when someone (Tellboy) said Rose wasn't that special.....
  9. Exactly, When I look at the two riders I would've thought their skill difference was more than the 2 pts it.it. Someone of Lambert;s standing. potential and experience, is somewhat disappointing at only 7.46. Whereas Rose at 5.33 is not bad. I expected the gap to be far bigger. Lambert should be kicking on to 9 at least.
  10. Think you're a bit unfair. Rose, late starter, has done well. Had he stopped at Lynn he would have progressed far better than being pushed to pastures new. His luck with accident has been atrocious , but he is still fighting and progressing. A solid gater and a grafter who would be an asset to any team, You want to remember, they're no easy points in this league especially riding as a second string.,,, Quick Note!!! If Lambert could gate as good as Rose, he would double his points overnight....
  11. My sentiments exactly. I don't have anything against Wolves, but it hurts so much, that a sport I have loved for so long is run by numpties who haven't got a clue. They couldn't make a bigger mess of things if they tried... The supporters continue to drift away and the BSPA show no signs of addressing the obvious issues. Like you say, the situation described above, merely highlights the mess this sport is in...
  12. Last time I went I watched, John Louie, ........ sorry, Chris Louie and Gollob and Richardson. Brilliant meeting...
  13. Take Lambert away from Lynn and the gate will be half. You'll be amazed of the number of people who go solely to watch Robert's races from the back.....
  14. Every team goes out to get a squad of able riders, But the sport shouldn't be governed by rider on stupid averages. This year has been a joke from start to finish. All riders were given FT's (fictitious averages) and for Wolves to have benefited by over 4 points from them is outrageous. We were told that those FT were for team section only, Not to be run half a season. No team in their right mind would have agreed to Elite riders being multiply by 1.4 if they knew it was to run so long. Now that the points are out All teams should be on a reasonable level, that everyone can achieve. Not having one (Wolves) 4pts clear of the rest. Everyone could see these problems from the start , all except the BSPA rule makers.
  15. The team limit could be raise to 44 pts ( this would allow all the other teams space to improve) and instruct Wolves that any changes they make would have to come down to that limit..... Like you say, scrap the swap option, whilst the team is above that limit... Either that or keep the limit to 50 pts......... At least everyone would be classed as equal... Its rules like this that kill the sport. Rules should be there to assist the lower clubs not penalise them. Our rules are arse about face. It's the top teams that should be the ones penalised and the lower clubs get the help... ........
  16. That comment contradicts every idea of fairness. Teams like Rye House; Leicester and Swindon are at a such disadvantage. This is the reason why these figures should have been sorted months ago and not wait until all had competed in 4H4A. All this waiting has done is accentuate the differences of those teams who have ridden more than others... And I thought all rules were made to benefit Poole, Seems now its Wolves who are the benefactors.....
  17. Yeah , I like that. I agree with your comments about Holder and Rose and with Robert and Huck. However I'm of the impression Troy would rather concentrate on himself and seems to recent any partner outscoring him. Then it would be added pressure for Jorgensen to perform as we want him too.
  18. What I mean by a quality No.7 is someone who is keen and talented. and wants to learn from riding with experience riders... something like Dan Bewley or Jack Smith... I'm' not expecting an established rider but someone who is destined for the top league. His No1 priority is he has to be able to gate. Josh Bailey was always up against it when last out of the gate. I thought Jake Knight equipped himself quite well against Wolves and is worth persevering with..... Rather do that then bring it guests of other teams....
  19. Personally I don't like the Team Managers take on meetings where he glorifies the positives. I would much prefer the 'Say it like it was approach' Yesterday he went on how wonderful the team effort was to claw back into contention when we were so far adrift, . but the fact was, we had been truly hammered. Our positives from this meeting were few, and accounted for 2 brilliant 5-1 heats. But listening to Dale, you would think we did really well. The only reason we were in contention at the end was for stupid double points rule. Probably if the riders were listening to this assessment, they probably thought they did well...... I still believe there is not much wrong with the Lynn team. They need to perform better, as individuals and as a team. With the exception of Lambert, all the riders could be classed as decent gaters. We shouldn't fear anyone especially on home soil. We desperately need a 'Schlein' as captain or manager, someone to encourage, advise and motivate the team. We don't seem to have that enthusiasm any more and simply going through the motion.. The view from the terraces is that the team don't wake up until the chips are down, so surely this can be seen in the pits..... I'll go along with that. I'd had seen Jorgensen before and had been impressed. Against BV he was thrown in the deep end, but didn't disgrace himself. I thought he was unlucky to be excluded from his second ride, but it was his forceful attitude that got him into contention. I'm in no doubt he will be a tremendous asset to the Stars team. Give him a few meetings to get accustomed and he will be a solid second string with Huckenbeck, with Rose relegated to the top reserve. All we need is a quality No.7 and a 'Kick up the Arse' for the rest... To supply only 4 race winners was criminal.......
  20. I have probably stuck up for Buster more than most and always gave him the benefit of any doubt. He has made no secret that him acquiring the Chairmanship of the BSPA has diminished his priority for Kings Lynn and now he is there through necessity rather than love. I appreciated it is his business and needs to be run on solid footing, but nobody is asking him to be foolishly spending good money after bad is not the way to go. However, in this business, the promoter has to speculate to accumulate if he is to succeed. Is it coincidental that the top teams of Wolves, Belle Vue and Poole have all made big changes in their quest to win, knowing a winning side is supported more than a losing one. In these recent times we were in desperate need of changes. There were rider available but the Stars bosses thought differently. They would rather continue as they are, hoping the fans aren't that concerned. At least we now know we will not be challenging for honours, and whether we reach the play-off is irrelevant. No doubt the fans will continue to drift away, they have had enough of these penny pinching ideas, but more than that, they are fed up being taken for a ride. Such a sad story.........
  21. After our Belle Vue performance It really does highlight our inadequacies. I thought as a team, we would be better by now and the riders would performing at a level we all expected from them, but unfortunately that is not the case. As we have seen recently we don't cut the mustard when against the top teams. Here is my opinion of the season so far, and how our team has been performing.. Chris Holder: I was well chuffed when it was announced he would be replacing Niels this season. Thinking along the lines he was one of the few who was capable of replacing our star turn.. But things haven't turned out that way. I have great respect for Holder, who has been up against it from the start. He really tries and battles hard, but the results haven't been as he would hoped. He has had his personal problems, plus the settling in issues and his machinery not as it was, it all adds more pressure on Chris to fulfil his obligation. He is far from the dominant No 1 we had hoped for . Things can only get better... B- Robert Lambert: I remember seeing him score 21 pt max riding for the Young Stars at 15 years of age, and thought what a talent. I was blown away by someone so young and thoughts were of another Michael Lee for sure. Now 3 yrs down the road he hasn't made the heights I imagined. Yes I know he has figured in some amazing tussles and has a large fan base. But to me its all about scoring points. He doesn't do enough when against better opposition. He has only won 1 of his last 9 races at home, and that's not good enough. I would much rather see a rider scoring 12pts from the gate than 6pts from the back. Robert has it all, except that gating ability. Unless he can master that, he will never reach the level everyone want him to.. Time to step up. B- Troy Batchelor: As expected a far better season than last. His form is something like we once knew. An accomplished gater who in front goes very quick, Sometimes struggle to pass when behind. Always manages to have one bad ride per meeting. As the season progresses so does his form.. B+ Lewis Rose: I thought he would do well to continue with his present form in a league where second strings are becoming stronger. A decent gater and good team man, Lewis has scored some important points. Not blessed with the skills of others, he make up for that with grit and determination...Doing OK. B Nick Porsing: I expected far more than Nick has delivered. Has so much potential but usually it doesn't show. If he could step up and do what we all know he's capable of, there would be no talk of replacing him... Disappointing so far.. C. Tai Huckenbeck: He more than anybody has been a godsend. has exceeded far more than anyone expected and has been our saviour many times. Without doubt top rider so far... A+ Dale Allitt: I find it difficult to understand how anyone can make financial decision without having control of the purse strings, therefore Dale must have a difficult jobs sourcing new riders . Whether he's the right man for the job has still to be seen. B Hope this assessment has not offended anyone and is of my opinion only....
  22. If I didn't know any different , I would believe Buster is doing alll he can to really P--z people off. We started late, we had a 18min grading break after ht 6, then another 16min Interval / Grading break after ht 10.. Don't he realise people want to go home, they don't want to watch him driving that bloody tractor all night. When Twitter said Poole and Leicester had finished, we still had 4 races to run. Now if the track had been good, then probably we could except the delays. but when we consistently have this gate and go fiasco I don't see why we need so many delays.... The racing was poor too. apart from 2 or 3 exceptions most races were strung out and processional.. I must say speedway is not like it use to be.... Our team is poor when comparing it with the likes of Belle Vue. They like Wolves are light years ahead of us... With the exception of Huckenbeck they were better in every position. Ever race they had winners, If their HL (heat leader) faltered they had SS ( Second String) to step up. To provide only 4 race winners illustrates how poor we were. The fact we were within 1 point with only 1 race to go was down to the implementation of that stupid double point rule. Belle Vue were streets ahead and thoroughly deserved their success. It makes little sense challenging for them Play-off places when we perform like this. What is the point of competing a semi-final when we cant beat these teams on home soil.
  23. Up until mid 90's, when the Sugar Corporation owned most of the land. There where many Pine and Fern trees around the Railway lines, and circled their playing field. That helped to protect the Stadium from the rays from the sun. and as been said the sun was only a problem when it was real low.. Now the land has been sold off to various ideas and ventures, the trees have since gone and replaced with businesses Coupled to that, the speedway bikes of today are a different animal to what they used to be. Where once throttle control was everything, easing off never had the consequences it does today. The bikes are so much faster, and the competition far more equal , all elements that have to be a consideration. I don't suppose the dark colour of the shale offers any help either... Why not plan to start meetings at 7.45 prompt, with introductions and practises, with the first race at 8pm. That would eliminate most of the hold -ups... A good meeting director and referee , could easily catch that delay up, Last week against Wolves we had a track grade after heat 4, we had another after heat 8 (this went on for some 10 mins), We then had an interval after heat 10, A young boy sitting in front of us with his smart phone was keeping tabs on the meeting. He said Dad, that tractor has been going round for 26mins, If that was correct, that was longer than the racing took... What I'm trying to say if we need to delay the start because of the sun lets do it right and plan it, Set the meeting to a timetable, Grade track after ht4, take the interval after ht8 and plan to finish at the same time.... Don't have a track grade then 2 races later have an interval. If there is a hold-up let it incorporate the interval as well. Lets put more importance into the appreciation of the supporters... and not have them hanging around as of present....
  24. Not knowing the full story, but from the pictures on the television I was of the impression, Barker and Co were trying to pull a fast one (cheat) by using a Chris Harris tyre for the final. This would have been illegal. Surely, rather then give Barker time to change the tyre back, the Ref should have disqualified him......
