  1. With all Schlein's grovelling and backing of his Aussie pals of late, imagine how he's going to explain a good score on a track that is so bad. so hopefully he continue his barren run and blame it all on a badly prepared track. These comments Schlein has made in support of Holder and Batch has left a real bad taste in my mouth. When Rory was badly injured, no club or individuals did more for him than Kings Lynn Stars . They gifted him a testimonial , they put on a pay night with the fans and the collections were never ending. What a pity he don't remember these important facts, rather than lower his persona to that of the other whinging Aussies...,
  2. In principle I think the double header is a good idea. but in practise its not always good business. Because the time tends to get dragged out, double headers are best done on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Starting at the same time (7-30pm) makes it a late night. The ref will need to keep it rolling, with hold-ups kept to a minimum. It is expected Wolves will use RR for Masters and that can easily add 10-15 mins to a schedule when rider take consecutive rides... Everything will always need to fall I place to complete a meeting in 90 mins. 10min interval and track grading, will mean starting the second match at 9-30. the earliest finish will be gone 11pm. All the time used for re-runs, accidents , R/R fence repairs will only add to that time. We only need the sun to show its head and the schedule will be shot to bits.. On soon as its gets late, people will start to leave. Raising the admission to £25, although understandable, is a cost some cant afford, so I'm not convinced it is a good idea. I understand the logic but am weary of the success. I would have thought a 7pm would have been far more suitable start time in view of the program. I've lost count of the number of meetings I've attended, but I can count the ones finished in 2 hours on one hand. Whatever time it starts it's going to be a long night.....

Edit: Posted this on the wrong thread. Have since copied to Lynn v Wolves Double header....
  4. I'm all for riders having their say, and if the track was suspect then the riders have the right to refuse to ride. But it needs to be done as a group decision. Single riders can't be allowed to dictate if and when they ride... After a group decision it was decided to carry on with the meeting. Chris lost all his respect for the way he acted. He could have voiced his concern and continued his riding. Nobody was asking him to do himself harm. There were only 2 accidents that night....... Nobody else stuck up for Holder and agreed with him... Following on from the previous nights success at Poole, this was the biggest crowd of the season. All paying good money to see the Stars do the double over their fieriest of rivals. The last thing they wanted to see was their top men pull out of the meeting. Any chance of success disappeared with Holder and Batch's attitude... Not once has Holder mentioned the fans or apologised to them, all he is concerned about is his arguments with Buster. Like I said, he has lost all my respect, If he rides in UK again then so be it, but he wont be getting any of my money.....
  5. Cometh the hour, cometh the man....... Tonight Robert Lambert was majestic, never have I seen him so dominant. From the gate or from the back, it made little difference. His pass on King in heat 10 was so reminiscent of Michael Lee in his prime, tracking the rider in front at speed, following his high line before straightening up quicker to get he drive pass when only inches away, Brilliant. A awesome performance. This should be the marker that Lambert is judged by. No more low scores, he is capable of double figures every time round AFA.... This was a tremendous team performance, Led by Lambert and ably supported by THJ, each of our riders wanted to do their bit. MPT was always involved. last from the tapes in each race, but the speed he generated, one has to ask what gearing he was using??? Must be frustrating to manage but brilliant to watch.... After the first few heats, this was racing as it should be. Every interviewed rider was complimentary of the track. Each gave it a real go. The scores don't tell all the story, there were positional changes in most heats. In heat 14, we were 5-1 down, then 4-2 up, then 3-3, followed by a 5-1 up and eventually a 3-3. All riders were covered by the proverbial blanket. Heat 10 another exceptional race when Jorgensen could have finished second only to be placed 4th such was the closeness of the racing.... The only disappointment was the size of the crowd. No doubt when word gets about the quality of the racing, those stay at home fans will return. Brilliant Night, terrific racing, even the result went our way... Lets have more of the same Buster.....
  6. I'll take that now. . This match will not be easy, especially with Somerset guests Grajczonek and Heeps. As we saw last week they go really well round AFA. For us to succeed we will need all riders scoring goods points. Probably this is the meeting when all the work and changes bear fruit, when team effort comes to the fore, and the top riders lead from the front. The big difference between this year and the ones previous, is we don't have someone like Neils winning in heats 13 and 15. For a team to be successful we have to regularly provide winners to those heats. I think the time is now right for Robert to step up to the plate and be that man.... Whether we win or lose tonight, will no doubt rest on Roberts shoulders. Being Capt. and No1 is all very well, its a privilege positon, the leader and pinnacle of the team, so its only right he is the person to win those important heats..... If he can, we will win, and if he don't then we will lose..... Whether it was Terry Betts, Michael Lee, John Louis, Richard Knight, Mark Loram, Jason Crump or Niels Kristian Iversen, when they were Captain, they all had to step up to that plate. I have no doubt Robert is more than capable of doing this on a regular basis...... His time has come....... PS. A big advantage for the Stars is that Jim Lynch is the Lions Team Manager, and we all saw his decision making on Monday night.!!!
  7. I don't think any match is easy anymore and this will be as difficult as ever. Judging by their performance on the tele last night, the Lions are more than capable of winning at the AFA. I would like to think we could end our barren spell by winning this match but it won't be easy. The new European U19 champion, Robert Lambert should receive a warm welcome. Wouldn't it be nice if he could celebrate with a maximum tonight...
  8. An enjoyable meeting, where the only winner was POOLE ..... As for Jim Lynch, TM don't get an easier decisions than that....... So bloody obvious.....
  9. When I heard this meeting was cancelled, I just assumed it was Buster's fault.
  10. Appreciate the information. Hopefully his form will continue on from Belle Vue.....
  11. I find that an irrelevant question. That's the main issue with decision making of this sport. The thought is not about which Team, all thoughts should be directed to the whole concept.....
  12. Unfortuantely the BSPA never seem strong enough to reinvent the sport for what it is. We make plans to suit Clubs and Riders without any thought of sustainability of the sport or of the fans. We need to sort out the British scene to suit the British people, when hopefully the fans will be able to connect with the teams. Looking at the riders who partake, we only have a handful of the top riders left, so losing them would not be a great lost. We don't have enough riders, which see too many double-uppers doing the rounds. Yes its a good payday for the riders but does little for the sport, with fixture clashes and guests. So we reduce the teams to 5 or 6 members instead. Lets look at one league run on a North V South basis. These two leagues to run on specific days North on Sun, Mon & Tues; South on Wed, Thurs & Fri ( purely for demonstrating purpose) . then there could be D/U but only as a last resort.. Fixtures to be more regular ( every week) Hopefully this would generate more local derbies: ( Peterborough, Ipswich, Rye House, Kings Lynn) where fans would more likely travel to away meetings... End of season Play-off would bring both divisions together. Am trying to look at the situation logically. We cannot complete with the likes of Poland and Sweden so why try? This could be the last chance to get the sport back on a level footing.......
  13. After all the trials and tribulation this track had, it is gratifying to know the end product is one of excellence. When there is a blank canvas and a blank cheque it is little wonder the venue is as good as can be. If we could have similar creations for others clubs our speedway could/would be far better. It is rewarding to hear good comments about the usability of the track and the 2 main men who oversee the design want to walk about with their heads held high.... Inwardly, I thought we could do well, like most other teams have done. We have seen may changes this year in personnel, We don't have the big hitters any more but we have tremendous spirit within the club and that, sometimes is far more important . Recent philosophy how I judge teams and their chances of success, is to evaluate each riders ability to score 6 points each. If each can do that the chances are, someone will exceed that enough to get the remaining points required for a win. Last night was a good highlight of that thinking. All but one rider achieved the 6 pts target. As much as I like to reach the play-off's, I think is will be a bridge too far. Seeing the team fight for every point is far more enjoyable than watching one sided meetings. It was pleasing to see Porsing in the points last night and hope his confidence increases as the meeting come thick and fast. I don't hold out much hope at Wolves on Monday, but rest assure we will fight for each point. Leicester next week will be the big one. Having not won for sometime this is a mountain we can climb,
  14. 100% agree.. But in this case, 12 riders, and the referee thought the track was fit to race. So the point in question, is not directed to the track being unfit, but to the riders who were unfit,,, Full Stop!!
  15. Having just finished reading the whole 48 pages of this thread, it becomes so apparent of the different sides and opinions posted. Most of the posts / poster condemn Holder actions 100% and feel he was totally wrong in his actions . There are some who try to justify his behaviour trying to blame others, but they are mostly Poole supporters who only sees the real world through the blue tints... There has never been an authoritive support for Holder or Batch from any quarters, so therefore one has to assumed, they feel they acted inappropriately. This sad state of affairs was only caused by the attitude of two men, thinking they were above reprise. The damaged it has caused is mindful. Apart from losing the services of two of our top riders it has also destroyed people belief in the sport. There can be NO justification of their actions These are just 2 selfish riders who have come over here to learn their trade, propelled them to world status, and then Kick us down when we didn't comply to their ideas. No whatever repercussions they receive, you can rest assured they deserved it... I don't believe all Aussies have the same selfish pattern as these two, but there're a few more out there, You don't need to look very far....
  16. In this world there are people who do, and there are those who don't. In all walks of life, there are far more of those who don't, who just sit on their arses and judge those who are prepared to get up and do the job. Thankfully Buster is one of those who does. He's a worker, he's a grafter who is prepared to get his hands dirty.. He is in a no win situation whatever he does, because punters will always blame the boss man. when events don't go the way they were expected.. The BSPA must be the most self centred organisation on the face of the earth. All the members do is look after their own interest.. Sod the sport what about my club??????? Buster is like a breath of fresh air. in the sense he is prepared to take on the committee and fight for what's right. No he don't get everything right, but his heart is in the right place. I cant think of anyone better in the BSPA who could, or want this job. Having read some of the rubbish the ' SpeedwayFanatic,' has posted, how he has the cheek to start a thread castigating the effort of Buster Chapman, to me is an insult. You may not like some of the things he does but Buster Chapman does more for British Speedway than anyone else in this country., If 'SpeedwayFanatic', has based his opinion totally on the 'Folder and Thatch' situation, than your even a bigger fool than I took you for.,
  17. What is it with clowns like you two? You really are amongst the thickest people around. You post such utter crap without an ounce of sensibility, and actually like each other posts. Truly amazing....... Thank god all Poole supporter aren't like you. Meeting people like you would turn me off speedway for good.......
  18. Had hoped to go to this meeting, but unfortunately I have to be else where. As with all meetings at NSN this should be exciting racing. Don't expect we will get much change but hope we put up a decent fight. No doubt a big learning curve for some....
  19. I have always been a Porsing admirer thinking he could be a decent rider, but this year he seem to have gone backwards. He has one good meeting then 6 bad ones. Having looked at the recording a few times , Porsing worries me. He persistently messed up each gate, and was struggling from that point.. He appeared to have enough speed, but showed a reluctance to engage, as if he lacked confidence. He looks to have a few issues, be it the grippy track, or maybe its his machinery, probably lacking self-belief, coming back as he has, but something was not right... I've seen all his meetings at Lynn, and when he's on the ball, there is no finer sight round the AFA. Riding at Reserve should be a massive confidence boost for him where he should dominate races... But I need to see far more evidence than I did against the Rebels. Porsing's form fluctuates more than any other rider I've seen. One minute, he's faster than most and the next he's the slowest. We don't expect him to be a 9pts heat leader, but we expect more than 2 third places he got against Somerset. A regular 6/7 point haul would be just perfect...... And he's more than capable of doing that......
  20. In the job of Chairman of the BSPA, Buster is making a lot of enemies . Specking out about Peterborough at the weekend was senseless, but it was spoken from the heart. Buster puts his whole being to push British Speedway. Sometimes he gets it wrong. But he has to be commended for what he did against those two whinging Aussies. who used their obvious ability to ransom situations for their own benefit without a single thought of the fans nor the clubs. Had they been left unpunished they would have run amok for the rest of the season, dictating results to whoever they wanted. Batchelor's 2 performances against Leicester in the space of a week highlights this point. One he was the perfect guest for Swindon, and the other was letting down his own depleted team, and it would have continued. The man had/has no integrity, just a selfish streak that dictates his whole life. Whoever he rides for next year has my best wishes .. You will need it.. Holder is more complex, I don't believe Chris Holder is a bad person, but his head is shot to bits....His inner demons has all but destroyed the rider he once was. With all the problems that has happened in recent years it is little wonder he has lost direction. Poole not wanting him was the final straw. Recent results on the track have suffered. His machinery hasn't been the dominate factor they always were, his points scoring had been a let down. In his head, rather than buckle down and address the issues, he is blaming everything else but, At Lynn he had the opportunity for afresh start. We had taken him in with no question of his obvious talent. We didn't expect miracles, we would have given him all the time in the world. But it wasn't what he wanted.. He wanted to be back a Poole doing as he had always done. He looked upon Lynn as a noose round his neck, and had no connection with Club or the Fans. His actions on that dreaded Thursday shows all those feelings:- His love for Poole; Dislike for the grippy track; His contempt for the Lynn club and supporters; Not facing up to his responsibilities, and they are not the attitude of a top bloke. His punishment is only what he deserved ...... If Chris does ride next year, I hope Poole sign him and that he can find some restbite in that situation. It's shameful the way his life has deteriated like it has.. I don't think he is a bad person. ..... No doubt, one day he'll come back to Lynn and ride like the wind scoring maximum points, ...... I won't have a problem with that.... .........I wish him well.....
  21. Watching the recording on the box I thought it came across quite well. Don't like the black colour of the shale but most riders said it was good and smooth to race on. I thought the riders showing a few more racing lines, and this created excitement, but it also showed how import a good start was. Once in front and not making a mistake, it was hard to see them losing the lead, even though some made a damn good effort. Nice to see all the effort each rider was making in trying to win, rather than going through the motions and thus cheating the fans. Every race was of the utmost importance and each could have gone either way. Like I say disappointed we lost, but thoroughly enjoyed a tight a competitive match... I feel we will continue to struggle to win matches until we learn to gate better. Lewis Kerr showed he had lost none of his gating ability scoring an impressive 12 pts. How we could have done with that last night.,,,,,,,,,
  22. Well I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting, didn't like the losing bit, but it was always going to be close.. The fact it was in the mix till the very end created more atmosphere and excitement. Somerset rode well and desrved their success, especially considering they were only a 5 man team. It could have been different but that the way the cookie crumbles sometimes... Still early days with better to come from the new boys. Robert will improve when feeling fit, THJ needs more time , and Huckenbeck was majestic running to get that solidary point. MPT and Auty have more to give. Jorgensen was immense, our Star rider without doubt. My main concern is Porsing. Such an enigma in that he should be so much better. Rode like an utter novice and should do so much better. Nobody would believe he been at Lynn 4 yrs , or that he scored double figures most weeks abroad. if he can't do better than that, I'm afraid he's got to go. Had he scored 5 pts tonight could have been the difference from winning and losing....... We are programmed to ride 5 meetings in the next 10 day period. Somerset at home was deemed to be the easiest of those meetings. Riding how we did last night shows how weak we really are. To be competitive we need all 7 riders to be on song. Unless that happens, then this could be the start of a bad sequence . At least that will make Folder and Thatch happy.....
  23. What is it with that you always try to take the high ground when referring to my posts. I live in the real world and take on the situations as they are, not as you would like them to be.. What happened at Leicester this weekend were caused by many reasons, but done by a specific rider wanting to race in Poland, as was the case at Peterborough. Peterborough were put in, a no win situation. By releasing Jack from the 4 team meeting they have retained a workable relationship with Jack. Had they refused, the chances being Jack would probably have decided against riding for them next year. This way bath parties are happy and can go forward. All the crap about making a stand against Polish Speedway is pathetic. we will always lose out to their financial implications. We need to make our own rules that safeguards British Speedway. we want to make them transparent and sustainable . We don't want to fall over ourselves, but we need to comply with their schedule. We need to appreciate where we are in the picking order. We are not strong enough to fight them so we construct a program where we can fit into their existence. We need to get our own house in order before we start going to war with other countries...If we do as you suggest and fight against them, we will lose the riders, the clubs and the sport.........
  24. I'm not particularly bother what time the meeting starts, as long as it starts at the time announced. Another pet hate of mine is when they say, we're going to delay the start as there are still people trying to get in.......... Tuff, Get here earlier, Most people get there in plenty of time, why should we be made to wait , because others couldn't be bothered.... I get so annoyed. For two pins I would leave without even seeing the meeting.... It is wrong to panelise those who comply for the sake of those who cant be bothered....
  25. Full details available on their Website: http://www.kingslynnstars.co/news.php?extend.30502.1 As predicted, a full team with all new riders present. I'm under no illusion of the task ahead and see Somerset as worthy opponents. Hope we see a close and exciting meeting with Stars getting all the points.... Not over confident though..... If your watching this on the BT Sport, I'm be the one sitting down in the Royal Box, with the Grey hair...... Will probably be wearing me glasses........
