I always thought they were one of the same , even so, I know they're law unto themselves. -
King's Lynn vs Leicester KO Cup 2nd leg 16-05-2018
g13webb replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is not the way forward, Organisation and planning is paramount to the success of any business, Our Speedway goes from one problem to another. We never seem to look at the obvious and oppose common sense everytime. The PLRC run this Wednesday was another terrible decision. It took up a FRN when other clubs could have used to re-arrange a cancelled meeting, (we've had plenty this year) . If there were to be any cancelled meetings, they usually come at the start of the season or late on, planning spares dates is not difficult. What we don't need is FRN being wasted on running PLRC when it could have fitted in at the end of the season. Come Sept, four teams will have finished their season . One of those clubs could have done with one big meeting before it closed... Why run it now and take up a valuable date. That doesn't alter next weeks clash with Leicester, its just another example of the way the BSPA think...... Once they made that decision to run on Wednesdays our schedule was shot to ribbons. Buster says it will only marginally impose on us and that Niels will only miss a few meetings, (one miss is too many), but he doesn't talk of the other riders, not only in our team but riders in the teams we race against . Planning to run a FRN on a day that clashed with a priority country was always a recipe for a disaster . But don't worry, at least Ipswich and Sheffield are OK...... -

Each year I wait the results of the AGM, wondering what decisions they have done this time. Needless to say my confidence in them is not that good. When an organisation is so determined to keep everything a secret, one can only be suspicious. It seems the BSPA is run on similar lines to the Stone Masons, where information is restricted to the chosen few. They are known to make decisions purposely to protect the movement. Where this similarity falls down is that the BSPA need the public participation, whereas the Stone Masons don't. The BSPA have a big problem understanding that without the supporters there will be no BSPA..... This FRN on a Wednesday was probably the worse decision I can remember.... Guaranteed to lose more supporters than it gains... -
King's Lynn vs Leicester KO Cup 2nd leg 16-05-2018

When speaking to Buster about the Chairmanship of the BSPA, he said he would complete his term of office and then he would move over and let someone else have all the problems. No doubt he's had enough of the 'Old Boys Brigade..'. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink..... Just about sums up the BSPA . -
It will be interesting to see how next week pans out. How much information we are told and how many fans are put off from going.......

King's Lynn vs Leicester KO Cup 2nd leg 16-05-2018

Once the BSPA agreed to run on Wednesdays, this was always going to be the case. Teams like Leicester and Lynn, by their inclusion of Danish riders would always suffer the most. I cant believe the mentality of a committee that would agree to run on Wednesdays, knowing full well the Danes have priority on that day. To compound the situation, the Stars now have 4 Danish riders in their team. This could always be a stumbling block if we continue racing Wednesday meetings.. Also, because we have these FRN now, the chances of adequate replacement are slim. 2 other matches on that same night, leaving only Wolves or Belle Vue riders would be the only options available . So, by allowing the clubs to choose their race night, the BSPA has destroyed any chance of the Premiership running as a sustainable option. They've made a real 'Pigs Ear' of the whole mess, just to satisfy CL teams who race on Thursday. Once the UK had been given the priority on Thursdays, that had to be our FRN. Those clubs still wanting to retain those Thursdays should have been told it was a Premiership FRD. Either they race in the PL or choose another day. NB A few days back , I and a few others, were discussing the idea of the Stars doing well, and that each time we sense we could be in with a shout , something crops up, rules get changed, someone gets injured, too swarth our chances. it was said it happens everytime. A poster from Swindon even said they felt the same when they went years without success, but keep faith and it will come. It seems our chances this year could be destroyed before it has even begun. This will be our third home meeting of the season, and the second without a full team. What chances have we got to succeed when we cant even guarantee what the team will be..... -
King's Lynn vs Leicester KO Cup 2nd leg 16-05-2018

I never once thought Ty Proctor was a gamble. I always had belief he would do very well and so far my thoughts have been vindicated. Only injuries have restricted his progress in the past. If he get a clear run, I'm sure he will be a terrific team player.... No Worries. Pity about Rose decision to stand down, MPT will grow in that position, Andersen will also improve, leaving Niels the one big question mark to date. Form is only temporary , whereas Class is usual permanent, so hoping Niels will recover his once dominant form.... -
I see there is a get out clause saying this schedule was subject to change. Once they see Wolves only have one showing, I'm sure it will be altered. Most of the clubs have 2 showings and that indicates there has been some thought put in. No doubt it will be remedied.....

Too true, I feel these fixed race night (FRN) idea is about 10 yrs too late. This should have been introduced to help and assist the schedule of those top riders when they rode over here, not wait till they had all gone before implementing the idea. But as like most things the BSPA do, the FRN has now been done solely to safeguard the promoters, giving them the opportunity to sign the riders for both leagues.. The main reason clubs like Ipswich and Sheffield refused to join the Premiership was that their teams are made up of riders doing both leagues... The only people to benefit from FRN are the riders..... -
King's Lynn vs Leicester KO Cup 2nd leg 16-05-2018

Having done a remarkable job to keep it close in the first leg, i am fairly confident we can complete the job in the 2nd leg. Having won both our home meetings by a bigger margin than we need to do, we are more than capable of getting into the next round. Leicester cannot be under estimated, especial with Danes KB & HA leading them from the front. Both are exceptional gaters and go well here at the AFA. Lambert and Niels will have there work cut-out to keep them intact. I see our advantage coming from riders lower down the order who have started the season well. I don't know when the new positioning order of the reserves come into play following the recent announcement of CMA . I believe this will project Kerr into the team proper, replacing either MPT or TJ. , but whichever rider is relegated to reserve should be able to score plenty of points against lesser opposition. Its a win -win situation. Hoping we have enough points clear before heats 13 and 15 , as I can imagine those heats could get quite tense.... -
What a nasty piece of work you really are. Unlike some on here I can see good, as well as bad in most sports, and speedway is no different , I base my opinions on both aspects. You, and your fellow fans, appear to only see the good and are blinded to anything else. Some of the rubbish you write is laughable in the extreme, Having followed the Stars for 53 years why would i want to put people off coming. I feel because i am one of the most experienced supporter i am well positioned to have a valued opinion. But all you seem happy to do is a one sided assault on everything I write. Because of this continue stream of abuse, I have reported your behaviour to the forum bosses. I've had enough of your perpetual mud slinging..... I can assure you I am not the Village idiot to which you referred me as.. I hope and assume this is the last I hear from you.... NB. As with everything else about you , you made fun implying that I made words up & it was something you ate. Well 'opinionate' is a current word, and can be found if you looked hard enough. : American Psychological Association (APA): opinionate. (n.d.). Online Etymology Dictionary. Believe me I want to, but there's always an angle why we didn't go.. be it Cancellations, or Riders missing, even times when feeling ill. But as much as I love watching and smelling the bikes, principals still have to be considered...

Probably, it was once the be-all in life, but them days are long gone, I spend more time now, winding people on the forum.

Listen to yourself. you appear to back Lambert in everything he does, but the fact remains he let the team down, he let the fans down , but most of all he let himself down. Blame can be apportioned to whatever, but the facts were he was the only one who didn't get back. Ask yourself a question, had this been a world final, would he have left his travel arrangements in the space of a solidary window. I don't think so..... Most of the other 21 riders travelled back Sunday night, and they had plenty of options had their plane been delayed... Pity Lambert didn't do the same.....

Thanks for those kind words, and yes I do have a genuine opinion . I speak as I feel . I try to be constructive when criticizing but no doubt, others will only see it as wrong if its different to theirs.. . I don't have a problem with that. ... You Sir, are something else. You wouldn't know the difference between 'Moan' and an 'Opinion' if it hit you on the head. Because of previous comments aimed towards me I have kept a eye on your input to this forum. I have yet to see anything constructive from you, all you appear to do is opinionate against others. So I don't put any value in your comments at all . As for the negative bile, I suggest you know more about that than I do............ It was my intention to go to Leicester last night, thinking we stood a good chance of beating them. We have started the season well, Because of the lack of meetings this year, I was keen to go to see a tight match. When news came that Lambert would be missing, I changed my plans and stayed at home enjoying the warm weather with a garden BBQ instead. I wasn't prepared to travel the 80 odd mile trip to witness a match we had no chance of winning. In saying that i always thought the team would battle and do their best, but without our top man it was a no win situation.. I don't regret not going, I thought we would be like lambs to the slaughter,. How wrong i was. Full credit to each of them who battled to the end to keep the tie alive. I never imagined they could do that. Just imagine what we would have achieved had Lambert made it back .

Checking the Polish match results from Sunday 6th May, 22 riders competed there and were planned to race in the UK on Monday. Of them 22 ,only Lambert failed too arrive. His plane may have been delayed/cancelled , but cutting his timing that tight, one has to question his priorities . Why is it the Lynn Stars are always the ones to suffer...

Talking as a once family man, once a bedtime deadline has been set, parents know the schedule. If they go to a Speedway meeting and don't get back till later, the chances are , they won't be going again because of the lateness getting back. We're not talking of a specific meeting or the next meeting, we're talking about all the meetings that follow, thinking that will all be of the same. It's not the 15mins that makes a difference, but the attitude given towards the finishing time of the meeting and how it's achieved.

One has to ask, how come Lambert cant get back from Polish meeting, when there were others who did. Sam Masters rode in the same meeting on Sunday but arrived back in plenty of time for Wolves 's 12noon meeting with Belle Vue... There were plenty of riders who raced in Poland yesterday and are down to compete in the UK today, Is Lambert the only one caught up in the late flights ???? I find that very strange. The Stars missing their best inform rider... He has in effect ruined Lynn chances in the KO cup this year.... What a shambles...
