Have to agree with you there, There's no doubting his ability, but always feel he's tries too hard and is an accident waiting to happen. I have seen him scoring big points at Lynn but also seen him score very little. I see him as a rider who needs to take the opportunity he has been given. Probably riding with a good team on a decent track, coupled with a strong spirit might be all he needs to kick start his career as a top rider. Garrity wouldn't have been my choice, but with options thin on the ground, he could be the missing piece of the jig-saw...

With the demise of the support the sport once enjoyed , we need to examine the reasons why the attraction is not there anymore. It was always thought and implemented that all teams were to be as equal as possible, where competition was uppermost in every supporter's mind. Once a team was originally selected they were usually there for the duration of the season when changes were few and far between. It created a bond within the team and also generated a connection with the fans. This use to be very important and encouraged fans to go each week. Most riders had fan clubs where an acknowledgement as he rode round to the start worked wonders for self esteem, both for the rider and the fans.. Going back to the title of the thread, No it is not against the rules of the league, to have many changes but it sure is against the reasons why the sport was so successful. Individuals like Matt Ford has twisted every rule in the book for the benefit of Poole speedway. Its not for me to judge him for the damage that has been done, but the reason it happened, and the same reason why it is still happening, is that BSPA, is made up with people who have always been wrap up in its own importance, rather than the sport in general...

Leicester v Kings Lynn Monday July 16th

Nice weather, closest team to go away too, with plenty of time on my hands I would have usually have gone to this meeting, (as like like previous years), but when we can sit at home with a beer and watch BV riding at the NSS afraid there's no contest...... -

That's no excuse ! Years ago when there was no social media we got far more news from our local paper than what we do now from the internet. For just a small amount of input from the club it would be so easy to post all information the fans want to know and the effort would be rewarded 100 times, but if the truth be known, they cant be bothered.... Probably, more organised then most , My calender has all the fixtures pencilled in, so was fully aware of the Stars schedule. but I had no knowledge of the teams, merely guesswork. As with other teams I was waiting news of a replacement for Kerr , but I should have known better what the outcome would be. So please don't try and justify KLS inadequacies, We are not asking for the world, just t be kept informed.... Is that expecting too much ???? -

I haven't posted much of late, as always being accused of negativity, but Jesus Christ, can the communication and enthusiasm from the club get much worse. All this talk in the off season about new body's being brought in to move the club forward, what has happened to everything. There is no interest, no motivation, no nothing, its as if they are not bothered. This must be the biggest turnoff period I can remember for a long time.. If they cant be bothered to inform fans of forth coming meetings then you cant blame them fans who turn their backs. They only have themselves to blame. NB. Many congratulations to Robert winning the other night . A truly wonderful achievement . Pity the KLS don't take a leaf out of your book and be more pro-active for a change... -

Again you are missing the point, I was comparing Klindt score against those of the rest of the team. Such was the advantage of having a strong reserve, any team would have profited likewise had they had the same.... In all of my years , jealousy has never been one of my straits. In fact I believe jealousy is such a juvenile behaviour, that its probably more in keeping with those who think it..... -

Poole, having a rider of Klindt quality at reserve was always going to be the telling factor. The Leicester track is tailor made for a gater like Klindt He was always going to have extra rides and score loads of points. I was surprised the Lions were in contention as long as they were. Take away Klindt haul and the rest of Poole side were pretty ordinary, so Leicester shouldn't feel too disappointed. The one obvious deduction to come from this meeting was that the Lions reserves are desperately weak and are in need strengthening. Have always thought it would be better to have at least one strong reserves at the expense of points higher up in the team.... -
KIDS GO FREE AT SUMMER SPEEDWAY!
g13webb replied to Dave1964's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely , kids (children) are the future of ant sport, although they have to be accompanied by an responsible adult when younger, it is the setting of the seed which is the most important part. Once they have acquired the attraction, there are always a way of getting there. The desire is the most important part. -
R/R is a facility to be used by a team occasionally as a last resort. not used as a permanent replacement. With 3 meetings to run in July it would be silly to use R/R. It does nobody any favours. It prolongs the meeting when allowing a rider extra time between races, it puts extra pressure on riders doing extra rides, if another rider in the team has a fall , then the team are up the creek without a paddle. At a time when the sport needs every help it can get, what you don't want is fans waiting around doing the extended breaks and the same riders in many races. R/R is a major put-off.
-
Cant imagine the fans will turn up in their hundreds if Buster don't come up with decent replacements. Fans go each week to support their team and hope they are successful, but to expect them to turn up when they haven't a hope of success would be a different proposition. Again hit by injuries, it seems the Stars are always up against it. This year we had the nucleolus of a good team, only to be deprived of riders when meetings clashed. If we give up this opportunity now, just because of an injury to Kerr, we may as well ask 'What's the point'.
-
I see Glasgow have acted quickly to replace the injured Kerr. No doubt there are many riders abroad who could fill a place , but like you say he'll have to have deeper pockets. Obviously it depends on how important the promotions see it ...….. For us to stand any chance of reaching them Play-offs we need replacements now, failure to do that would signal their intentions loud and clear.......
-
What a wonderful world you live in, If the club were to promote their meetings and inform the fans of forth coming information, there would never be any rumours, cos everyone would know... the problems only exist because of the lack lustred approach of the management, and fans like you who think they do no wrong.... I suggest you look at both sides of the argument NB: Well impressed with Buster's announcement of re-admission from the Leicester match. The fact he has gone way beyond that he is responsible for, shows he is being more than FAIR....

Kings Lynn v Leicester Lions 4/7/2018
g13webb replied to justathought's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I stand corrected. obviously he was not up to date with all the many rule changes. You say the new system is fairer, you'll have to forgive me for not agreeing with you . Under the new system the supporter never gains and loses out everytime a meeting is called off. Years ago the supporters were appreciated and treated as a valued commodity, not anymore. You don't have to think very hard to see why the numbers are dwindling fast.. Of those many fans who had been waiting for hours before leaving , I cant imagine they'll be too keen to come again when they learn they will only receive a small adjustment from their initial £18.00 they forked out... NB : Pleased to see Rob Godfrey made the correct decision and refunded the full amount for a meeting called off after 2 races. As a supporter I wouldn't have expected anything less... -

I was informed that if the meeting is called off before the completion of heat 6 then full reimbursement or subsequent admission is paid out...... He may have got this wrong, but usually he pretty clued up on these things.... Looking back to last night on how late they ran that race, it all adds up to that being the case..... -

g13webb replied to justathought's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Call me cynical, but that re-run of heat 6 was of the utmost importance. Had the meeting been abandoned when Kerr had his accident , it would have meant a full refund to each and every spectator. But even though the time was 10-20pm, the ht6 rerun was eventually raced , The difference of that race alters the responsibility to the club significantly, they now only have to re-pay a small portion of any re-admission. Now the ball is firmly in the promotion's court, Did the fans stand-about for 2 hours, giving the club the opportunity to rip them off, or will the club re-emburse them all for their willingness to stop behind to see more racing.... No doubt we will all wait for the answer...… -

No doubt it was in Buster's interest to continue, so we can assume he made a case of that point to the ref. Whereas had he wanted the meeting to end he could have made the point of the missing Medic/ Ambulance, and the Ref would have had no option but to abandon the meeting... The Ref can only make decisions on what he is told, but when you consider he deemed Kerr responsible for the HT 6 accident and excluded him, I wonder just what was in the Ref's mind all night... -
Kings Lynn v Leicester Lions 4/7/2018

Not the best speedway meeting I have been too, the track looked grippy and fast, and offered little overtaken. a real a gate a go exercise. Apparently the new ref in the box didn't do anybody any favours . Kenneth Bjerre and Lambert were both quickly dialled in and looked fastest of all. Proctor had battled in all his 4 races, and Jasper Andersen beat an opponent in each of his first two rides. but it wasn't pretty. Then came the dreaded ht6. Hans got the drop from the gate, entering the first bend he nudges Neils, who in turn pushes Lewis wide, He has nowhere to go other than hit the fence full speed. He bounced back onto the track like a rag doll. It was a bad crash. it brought back memories of his accident that almost ruined his career at the showground. The length of time the ambulance was standing on the track indicated it was serious. Everybody there was aware of this. Nobody likes to see anybody get hurt, but its part of the game. My thoughts go out to Lewis ( NB:and Jasper) for a speedy recovery. From that point on, the meeting was dead in the water. Of cause the meeting cant continue without the proper attendants and equipment, The time has gone 9 before the ambulance left the track, at best its going to be another hour before we can continue. With 10 heats still to run , that would make it a 11.30 finish on a school night, and that's ridiculous, besides isn't there a curfew on weeknights?? Waiting around for the ambulance to return did nobody any favours. Buster should have called an end to proceedings then. he was wrong to expect fans to wait around for 2 hours , not knowing when or if the meeting might continue.. Once the announcement was made about trying to locate a another ambulance service, I decided to leave. It was now 9.30 and I had waited around long enough. When walking back to the Car-park there were many who shared the same view with a steady stream leaving. Buster didn't do himself any favours tonight. No doubt his actions were governed by the finances of it all. NB: I wasn't aware of Jasper's accident till this morning. . . . -

MTP is now in the team proper at No3.. his RR can only be taken by Kerr, Proctor and Andersen. Imagine Proctor will have 7 rides -
All this so called fuss could so easily be avoided by the club if they kept the fans upto date. Most of us waited till Monday , whence the Website is usually updated , but this week was much later. A small comment on the social media could have eliminated any confusion. Having been treated badly in the past, you cant blame the fans for being sceptical. Bearing in mind how many times this year we have been missing star riders, had I been a promoter, I would have shouted from the highest building that we have a strong team out against Leicester, hoping to being in extra fans to the meeting. But we as fans hear nothing. So please don't get on your self-righteous step and preach about a 'fuss over nothing' comment. These comments are usually made from dia hard fans who have been taken for a ride too many times...
-
Yet again the fans have been lied to, and led down the proverbial path. The fact we are only a day away from the meeting against Leicester and still no team announcement highlights how the promoters are thinking. I'll bet my bottom dollar its because they don't want to let on we have another weak team with riders missing.... The point being, if the promotions were upfront an kept the supporters up to date, I would still go to watch a losing match, but to be treated with such contempt, is the biggest put-off of the whole sorry existence. No way will I pay-out monies after being treated this way...

It would be interesting to heard the response you received from the BSPA from the discussions you had, Are they bothered of how the fans feel ??

Having been to a place I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy , followed by recovery in hospital and convalescent at home , it sure puts a different outlook on ones life... For one who thought speedway was more important than life , now realises nothing is as important then that. It really hits home when I read comments made about this sport, It saddened me to read about Rye House, and all the problems relating to FRN , but what changes. Every issue with the way the sport operates are self inflicted, and whatever the fans think will not change a thing. Fans are treated with such contempt it is embarrassing. Their views are not heard, nor wanted.. I once lived for the day when the Stars would lift that Crown of Champions, But its not important anymore Win or lose it has no value. Rules are altered to suit the few and the masses can only follow. I will still go to watch and enjoy the spectacle of 4 men racing, but apart from that, the sport has nothing else to give …. NB: I hope Rye House receives the help they desperately need, but I cant see it happening. The whole sport is governed by 'Sod you / I'm alright' philosophy and will not alter their ways to help other clubs. Here lies the biggest problem...

The predictable bit is right, At least he tells it like it is . You others on here, equally predictable that watch matches with their eyes shut , and then glorify it, in defeat. Let face it , What started out to be an optimistic season, has descended into a total farce. We are now position at the bottom of the league, where we belong. What a pity the Promoters don't understand the dire situation the club is in and get it sorted. Personally I'm fed up with all the excuses....
