Probably the reason Simon Stead and Swindon have parted company, after so many years, could be the abuse and disgust shown by SOME of their supporters when he was going through a bad period. Going to Lynn, he knows he'll be appreciated and the supporters won't be calling for his head when things don't go right. As for being in the GB team, he achieved the status before, what stopping him doing it again.....

Looking back to last night it was an enjoyable meeting, I think next year they will have to look for a bigger room, the place was packed out, to the point where you had a job to see anything and had to rely on your ears…. I think the Chapmans and Rob Lyons have done a brilliant job in securing this team. But to do it in such a short time as this is admirable. All these riders in this new team perform really well at Saddlebow road, and I can imagine the Stars being in contention for honours next year. There will be some worried promoters out there this morning, as the Stars have laid down a marker for the strength of teams in next years Elite league. I look forward with optimism, Who knows, the 47 year wait might be coming an end…..

There's no difference, Niels doesn't want to ride for the Panthers....... The reasons are irrelevant... You can have Janowski back, at least Simon Stead will ride with his heart.
-
If the clubs can't agree, Stars can always go to arbitration, like last year when the precedent was set by Poole.......
-
It isn't about money. Niels wants to ride where his heart is, somewhere where he's appreciated. Somewhere he is respected as a top rider....
-
Best one so far, but could Kozza fit in with that..
-
The first person on the list must surely be Neils, and named capt as well........ He's the one you can rely on.......
-
They say the meeting is on Wednesday 28th Nov according to the Stars website, but in todays SS they say it's on Monday 26th. Could it be we are having a replay on wednesday.....

I have no qualms as far as the Chapmans are concerned. It’s the state of the sport that really deflates my thoughts. It doesn’t seem important what riders are racing any more. The league, The BSPA, the whole thing, is a shambles. My enthusiasm has just about given out, to the point of, What’s the point???

I think if we go with that team, you'll need to change your handle (name) to 'weneedmorepointstomakesplayoffs'
-
You haven't named the job sharing No 1 rider with Rory.......
-
And there was me, getting all excited, been waiting 46 years for the Stars to win the BIG One and you go and spoil it...... .
-
It get better each day. Bring it on.......

Like this one as well. has a strong resemblance of 2011, when we got to the play-off. Like Neils, Kenneth, and Rory as heat leaders, Mateusz Szczepaniak will only get better, Lasse and Eklof are good youngster, my only concern would be Danial. But on a 5.37 he has to be a good choice.

I felt there was something missing with some of the team’s performances last year, whether that was down to Rob Lyons, I don’t know. He has always shown he’s more then capable, and equal to most Team Managers. But there seem to be spirit missing and the attitude was not always evident. Probably it was the riders, who knows, but when Rob was questioned he hinted he had had enough. I just hope he has changed his mind and is on board next year. Yeah, another good team. But I am convinced Rory will be in there somewhere. As much as I would like to see Pedersen in the Stars colours again, I am in no doubt he‘ll be FAR too expensive. Would like to see Kozza back in though.

Well he has now..... In 2011 he was a very good Heat leader and finished in the top 10 of the league averages. Becaused he was overshadowed by Kenneth Bjerre, people seem to forget how good he was. This year he has been superb and exceeded all that was expected of him. Next year will be the icing on the cake riding in the SGP's. No I don't expect him to win, or even be in the top half dozen, but he will go out there and perform. His bikes will be quick and he'll make a lot of gates. For the so called favourites, Niels will be someone they won't relish. Thats not a bad team, as good as I've seen so far. Obviously a bit of tinkering here and there, but generally pretty good.

When Jonathon Chapman announced the Stars team before Christmas last year, my one reservation was the top end strength and therefore the lack of ability we needed to win our matches at home. Our only hope was that Neils, Mads and Magic would up their game to true heat leader status. Unfortunately that hasn’t been the case and only Neils raised his game sufficient enough to become a true No.1 Our track at the Norfolk Arena is that good and fair, all our opponents like racing here and raise their game when they visit us. Consequently, our home matches are harder to win then almost every other track in the league. If we can’t win our home matches then we stand no chance of being successful. So to combat this we have to have a strong trio of riders to compete with the quality of our visitors. Most teams have good leaders, Holder, Ward and Kasparzak; Anderson, Batchelor & Kildemand; Lindgrem, Woffinden & Wells; Bjerre, Sundstrom & Jensen; Harris, Nicholls & Kennet (All these riders go well at Lynn). So when talking of good second strings and strong reserves, they won’t win us many matches at home against the quality of riders I’ve mentioned. THREE strong heat leaders is a necessity, even to a point where the rest of the team is made up to suit the limit. The Elite league is so configured that it suits teams with a strong top end. Be it T/R or the heats 12 to 15. It’s the strong top-end teams that benefit the most. If we go down the same road this year with a solid team with little top end strength, we will do no better then we have this year. I just hope Jonathon and Buster are aware of this.

I would imagine that Niels will be one of the most sought-after riders in British Speedway. He must be a promoters dream. He's realiable, he's consistantly good; he's pleasent and likeable, but most of all he gives everything to the club. i appreciate he's an Panther's asset, but in this day and age he can have a choice who he wishes to ride for. there must be a list as long as his arm of the clubs that want him. I just hope he picks the Kings Lynn Stars....
-
As previously posted, I believe we need 3 good heat leaders to be strong at home. That said, I also believe Magic is more then capable of being the third of them three. Yes, he’s been inconsistent. Yes, he didn’t bother sometimes. Yes, his attitude is questionable. But when he’s on song he’s awesome. For someone so young, he has an immense talent. Smooth, daring, forceful, he has it all. Some of his moves this year were sheer quality. He was the best team rider in the squad by a mile. You can’t teach someone that quality. It comes from within. Now that he's not in the U21 next year, my one hope is that we show him, how much we want him back, he'll repay us with the standard of riding he is capable of. There are hundreds of riders who would put more effort into their racing each week, but there’s not many out there as good as Magic Janowski……..

Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
g13webb replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's such a shame the meeting of this stature, will be remembered for this instance of the Ref decision. There has been 363 commnets about it on this thread, yet on the Holder- World Champion thread there are only 50 posts, and most of them is about other things. Like I said shame.. cos' Chris Holder really did deserve that World Championship. -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision

I have no doubt this thread will run on and on. Both sides of the argument feel they are both justified. No one will ever changed what happened. Chris Holder is a worthy World Champion. Had this situation had happened in any other race, any other meeting, Holder would have been excluded. and that tells me what was right and what is wrong. Its a pity that the event governed the rules whereas it should be the rules govern the event. The ref took the easy option. -

I've seen Pederson get excluded for a lot less then that. And the meeting would 've finished no different, even if the ref done his job properly. -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision

Strange, but all these posts on this thread are so predictable. There are those fans that see it as it happened, and there are the others that can never have anything said against Holder for whatever he does. For my tu’pennies worth, I thought Holder was very fortunate not to be excluded. After picking gate one, he will always get clamped on the line if, he was slow out, irregardless of who is next to him. Having Pederson next to him it was foreseen what would happen. Had Holder have picked gates 3 or 4 he would have had a better chance if he had missed the gate. He only needed a top two finish and his bike was well quick. The race: Pederson had the jump way before the corner, and Holder could and should have eased up, but no, he was aware of what he did and should have been excluded. The Ref: bottled it. He made the decision thinking that he was deciding the world championship. But No-Way would Pederson have won the next two races. He just wasn’t quick enough. So because of the inability of the Referee we have loads of pages arguing (discussions) about nothing. At the end of it all, Chris Holder was rightfully crowned World Champion, not just for last night, but also for consistently performing better then the rest, all year. So may I offer my congratulations to Chris Holder, a deserved World Champion. -
Chris Holder World Champion
g13webb replied to T.N.T.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Congratulation to Chris Holder. Although, consistant, very quick, and always in with a shout, i thought fortunes favoured him tonight. i think this will signal the start of the younger generation, taking over and winning the top prize from now on. Next year will see the younger riders like, Ward, Vaculik; Sayfutdinov; Lindback; M J J, joining Holder at the front, and the older ones, following Crumpy and calling it a day. -
Riders such as those need to be outlawed. We talk of small crowds and viability of the sport.. How are we expected to get the crowds back when there are riders milking it for all they can get and give little back in return.
