  1. Can't see what all the fuss is about: We all know Poole will do whatever they like, believing it to be a winning mentality, when in fact its just blatant cheating..... Tell me? What's the difference between Hans Andersen not riding for (Swindon 2013) and Magic not riding now.???? Swindon had to use a PL 6 pointer, and so should Poole. Anything different is WRONG...... Wrong for the other clubs, Wrong for all the fans, Wrong for Belle Vue, and Wrong for the Sport. ....
  2. Surely it would be more productive for Wolves to have a better quality guest for Freddie and use RR for Musielak.
  3. And to think there were posters on here who have labelled the Lynn track as boring. Last night brought a new definition to the word BORING. A truly terrible meeting. Pleased Mr Nasty won, at least he will be happy.....
  4. I'm all for giving people the time to rectify problems. in the hope of showing their true potential. I think at Lynn, we have the nucleolus of a top side. Our heat leaders are equal or better than anything in the league. Of our second strings, Lambert has come on a bundle and will improve further as the season goes on. And Kerr at reserve is again equal to other riders. So far this season 2 riders have been struggling. First Morris, Because of the crocked way the drafts were graded, Lynn were destined to have the last pick, so the choices were limited. Ashley is recovering from a horrific accident last year and will need time. He was never going to set the world alight straight away, so it was always a gradual process. He has the basis of a solid FTR. His gating is above average, but his equipment seems slow. Watching him ride at Leicester was impressive. not only with the points he scored but also the way he mixed it with other riders. I believe he still has a problem with the Lynn track where he finds it hard to score points, but we should persevere he will come good...... Porsing's problem is consistency. It all very well driving about in Posh cars, and living in the fast lane, but you have to do the business on the track. 2 months into the season and he has been very disappointing. Could count the good races on your hand. At time he looks very quick and other very slow. Sometimes he gates and goes, other times he's well adrift at the back. He has to realise the second strings is a very competitive group where there are a lot of decent riders. If he cant average 6 points a meeting against picked opposition then it's time to change.. He has to buck his ideas up, and do whatever it takes..... How much time should he be given.....
  5. Wouldn't read too much into that Sidney. I think all SWC Managers had to pick 10 riders to form a squad, and for Rosco that must have been hard. Some of the riders he has named are no doubt earmarked for the future but are a million miles away at this time. Pity that Scotty don't want to ride, especially how he's going this year. Without him, the options are pretty thin on the ground. Woffy and Bomber are certs to ride, with the other 2 coming from whose who ride in the Premier League, which is not the ideal platform to prepare for world class opposition. Perm any 2 from 3, from King, Cook and Lambert is my thoughts. Bearing in mind the event is at Lynn, then Lambert merits inclusion.
  6. Using a draft rider as a guest for a heat leader, would surely contradict the main idea, of introducing FTR into the league in the first place. If that is allowed, then the whole principal of teams using FTR with protective races would be destroyed......
  7. Those figures don't indicate the times he team rides and secures bonus points. For some one so young, his awareness for his partner is amazing...
  8. This is not the foregone conclusion you seem to think. The Stars are more than capable of competing on most tracks and getting some reward. And as been seen before, we have riders who can win races there. Everything depends on the day, How each team perform. My thoughts are directed to a close home win, with the Stars nicking a point....
  9. Probably the statistic don't highlight the fact, but I reckon Robert Lambert must be one of the most improved riders in the league this year. A big step up from last year.......
  10. Took particular notice of the track and riding lines last night, and yes, having taken on the comments regards the raceability of the track, it was clear some of the old lines don't exsist any more. On the rear occasion when riders went out wide, such is the depth of shale they were left out to dry. Twice Niels ventured to the outside run and both times lost out. Not being a track man I only see the problems and don't know the answers. But like everyone has already noticed, the Track, once regarded as one of the best, is fast becoming a gater's paradise.
  11. I think Monday away to Wolves should be a indication of how Morris is performing. Riding on a track he likes and knows well, should give a truer picture of where he actually is. Seeing him at Leicester last week , he showed a lot more ability than what he does at Lynn. Probably, he has a problem with the Lynn track. Whatever the reason, he needs to up his game, especially at home. Looking at the averages in the SS, he is the lowest in the league.......
  12. As always, enjoyed the speedway night out. I think the final 5-1 gave some, the 10point win, a false belief it was a close meeting. Had Kenneth made the gate it would have been a far bigger margin of defeat. The truth being the result was never in doubt and had the STARS needed to get something from the last heat, then Niels and Lambert would have been involved. The majority of the races were FTG but created some tight battles.... Lambert tonight was awesome. Three times he missed the gate, but each time he came through for impressive wins. Freddie was the only person to beat him and he was made to work really had hard. Rory, KB and Kerr were always dominant , Niels worked hard for little reward, but time is running out for Porsing and Morris. Between their 7 races they came last 6 times and scored a total of 1 point. Its all very well saying they're improving but its points that matters, and they are not producing the goods. I thought Wolves put on a good show. there were some hard first corners and some decent battles. As expected most of their riders scored points, Freddie and Wells being the pick of the bunch. Howarth was a rubbish guest, but whether RR would have won any points I'm not convinced. Obviously it would have re-coupe a few points but I still think it would have been a home win.
  13. Should be a comfortable home win. I always prefer a team to use guests instead of the RR as it always slows the meeting down with longer breaks between races. But the trick being is to get adequate riders to fill the breach. Giving riders like Freddie, Karlsson, Wells an extra ride would have been more productive than using Howarth as a guest, so in this case an easier meeting for the Stars to win........... This could seriously be a totally one sided affair..........Shame that,
  14. Thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining meeting. Well impressed with the 'banked ' track that produced some fast and decent racing. Some quality passes from the many racing lines. Was that a fair representation of the normal crowd ? , or was that just because the camera were there, either way, good crowd added to the occasion. Thought Glasgow looked strong and will surely figure in the chase for honours, Whereas Sheffield looked stretched after all their problems, and will surely slip down from their lofty league position. Good meeting that should be remembered for the quality served up and not for that idiot, Bates's behaviour. made himself look a prize tool. If he behaves like that, one has to question why did Wolves pick, to have him in their side. He may be able to ride a bike, but with that attitude, he's going no-where.
  15. Congratulations to Denmark on winning the SEC Best pairs Competition, Congratulation also, to the BSPA for highlighting our total inadequacies of any organisation skills. I have no doubt that, when GB were offered a place (wild card entry) in the last round, they jumped at the opportunity without really thinking of the implications. They immediately assumed Woffy would be available, plus one other (Cookie), with Lambert as a reserve.. Sorted....... Book the tickets..... When Cookie got injured, No worries, we'll put Lambert in the team proper.... Job sorted. .... But someone forgot to contact Woffy to confirm his availability. When he was informed, he had to refuse because of prior commitments with Polish Speedway, (See the explanation on the SCB website). So ,as with so many things before, this again was just another shambles. So at the ninth hour the BSPA had no option other than to get WHOEVER to ride under the GB banner and Rory stepped into the breach. ( Thank you Rory, to him this was just another guest appearance) This selection had nothing to do with nationality, or licence country, it was purely getting Team GB out of a hole. Christ, Why didn't they pair Lambert up with Hancock and called themselves 'Union States' At least that way the BSPA would've save some dignity, the event wasn't even affiliated, but we still managed to mess up......
  16. According to his twitter posting, he says he feels as if he's been hit by a bus but should be OK after a bit of a rest.............. Fingers crossed.......
  17. I had no issue with Poole safeguarding Newman. That was expected, same as us with Lewis Kerr. The false ranking of Newman, Not only allowed Poole to retain your 1st choice, (Newman), but also gave you second pick of the second tier rider. Whether you choose right or wrong is irrelevant . At least you had a choice .
  18. The whole scenario of the selection process was laughable. It left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, everyone, except Poole that is... How the leagues top FTR , Kyle Newman was only ranked 6th , was beyond everyone imagination..
  19. Probably a predictable result, but one would have expected more from Batch and Zagar. Both difficult to predict at times. Batchelor could be still troubled by injury, whereas Zagar has problems with his motivation. To get into the Play-offs, you look to win at home and get a points or so away, so in this case both teams managed this. Come the end of the season, I have no doubt both these teams will be in the reckoning. The only cast iron bet at the moment is Coventry will definitely be one. The others, three could be any, permed from five . Talking about Rory and guesting for other teams. Don't have a problem with that, although it could be detrimental to their own club, But once the 4 teams in the PO have been decided, I feel it is wrong that riders can guest for other PO teams. It takes mockery to a new level..
  20. Obviously disappointed the Speedway was cancelled. Can understand the logic of the decision, and the sensibility involved. But can't help thinking come Sept and October time, we will probably be thankful for a windy night keeping the rain at bay....... Just pleased we got our weekly speedway dose, away at Leicester on Monday last......
  21. If the Aces can go to Poole and come away with a draw, I'm sure they have the capability to create a problem or two at Swindon. Still, I believe Swindon will win, but it won't be as one sided as some seem to think. It wouldn't surprise me if the Aces take a point......
  22. That's a bummer, we'll have to watch Messi and Suarez instead.. It'll probably give Leicester more time to assemble a full team......... No worries....
  23. Was surprised at this 'Evacuation procedure test' I thought it was just a exercise to empty the stadium quickly because they wanted to shut up shop. No problems though......
  24. Apart from Doyle, Fiske, Auty, and Lambert last night, the effort from the other three left a bit to be desired. I expected more from those riders. Its seems a shame that a club like Leicester who have fought hard to get speedway back should attract riders who are obviously not prepared to give it their all... Sincerely hope the fortunes can be changed around and the club continues to get stronger..........
  25. You want to read some of the crap you write. ...... You even contradict yourself. My original point: Chris Holder is ranked within the top 10 riders of the World. Regardless of his current average he is never a 2nd string. Now, if he can be classed like that, then something has to be wrong with the rules..... Others have seen the point I was trying to make,............. Shame that you couldn't ....
