  1. I can debate with the the likes of you all day long it is not difficult , get your head out of your own ass.Did Cook say this? he might of implied that it was a great learning process being in the pits (ect) but please the speedway board don't try to insult us making out they are doing it for the good of the sport.Take a chill pill and don't act all superior Addio, your opinion is no better than anyone else's.
  2. Great to see Ash back i hope it is at reserve the main thing for him is to get back and get back in the swing good luck to him.
  3. I have changed my opinion a little over the years, the series now is in a great way and i do enjoy it.But for me the one off meetings were exciting and believe it or not apart from Jerzy generally the right riders won it.Ok sometimes in the wrong year (Briggs would of won in 72) Olsen unlucky) Nielsen unlucky but his class carried him through. For me to qualify on MERIT EVERYEAR is so different to now now there is a safety net to win a one off final was a different quality and mental strength needed. Now the series has moved on buggered our league up but it is a great product no doubt about that.
  4. Spot on, did Cook say it was great for these young lads to mix it with Tai? what a lap behind.I want all these young English lads to get a chance and if the sport was run right most of these lads would get PL spots i am all for it.Newcastle have done it with Lawson, Robertson, the Worrals,Kerr, Jacobs( who did well at Glasgow) Greenwood and Bates have mixed it at PL level and a few others have too.But don't take the piss out of the English fan they know this is spin i do so hope somebody like a Andy Smith,Sean Wilson comes out of the woodwork but there will be endless others who have a uphill struggle.
  5. Is Auty being moved down the order because later on in meetings the dirt drifts out which suits him? If he is on his game he will be no 1 again, i think if he gets back on track he can average 9.5/ to10 at Scunny can at least put a point on his average.
  6. Prepared he would be a steal on that average, saying that he is the prime example of a rider that the EL needs to forget about. To expensive does not give a sh.. about Britain forget the foreigners balance the books is the way to go.
  7. One of the best posts on this thread, i went to every meeting at the Abbey last year and i can with regret say most weeks you were lucky to see three or four decent races a night.Dragged out meetings, R/R, guests, D/uppers missing ( lack of meetings in which people got used to not going and spending there money on other things. At the end of the season i believed speedway had a chance to forget about Sky and revamp the EL again they have again shirked the real issues. What amazes me is that with the sport in the sh.. the fans have again not had any input on any of the decisions being made a big mistake in my view.Synikalle i can understand his frustration, but i hope he reconsiders his intention of not going in England again as he will miss the sport as i would if i stopped going.Fingers crossed i hope the changes work out, i will always support the sport i believe it is in your blood and for alot of people it becomes a habit which you have for life.
  8. I totally agree the GP riders should go the sport should of been brave and tried to start again without sky. And balance the books and pay only what they can afford also this myth about helping British youngsters is total rubbish.
  9. So would i Steve, is it to early for Ritchens? probably but he has beaten some of these NL boys who are deemed to move up it would again be great to have a local lad in the team.
  10. You could be right Mungo, wouldn't that be great, going back when i first started going in 1969. When the old second halves were here i thought it was great when the juniors mixed it with the big boys.Looking back a hell of alot of good career riders came through that way.I suppose the difference was it was alot slower then but never the less alot of juniors progressed why do you think ? since say the late 80s has the talent dried up.
  11. This is where you would see the big gulf in class , you might get a Andy Smith,or a Sean Wilson break through i reallly hope so.But you will have a few who disappear broken and skint along the way they're are some very good second strings out there who could have a field day i hope i am wrong though.
  12. . Cook for me is in no way international management material in my book, Adams is a legend in my eyes and i have total respect for the man.I would be surprised if he would take the job now as i believe this job has to be a ten year plan.Rossiter is my choice by quite a long way he has made mistakes like everyone but he has paid his dues.I hope he gets the job and maybe he gets a person who he picks alongside who he trusts and respects who could help him along the way a tough road ahead.
  13. . A really good post i agree with everything, the intention looks good but i cannot see how it can work. This idea i would of liked seen happen in the PL with national league British lads getting extended runs at that level. But I believe the PL has its own very good product and should be able to run there shop as they seem fit it is the EL that is at deaths door. For me the big decision was that the GP stars have to go it is not practicle and this cost cutting measure really is a Kop out at addressing a big problem.Saying that i hope some Brits make progress and are not just turning up knowing they will only score a point or two and those points will be only against riders of there own ability.
  14. Andersen and Batch are they proper in/out no 1s? no in my opinion Kildemand will be in time no doubt he has to stay if at all possible,
  15. A great track one of the best days out of the year, also they had a nice clubhouse which did a nice pint.Trips to Halifax the great Hyde rd and Owlerton were what made the old BL very special.
  16. Ooops sorry Parsloes , i have always enjoyed going to the wick Thommo was great value the set up was great regular racing and Mr Silver has past the test in time takes some doing to be still here after decades.
  17. You are right ER i have turned over a new leaf? ??
  18. I admire Len SIlver bigtime, i remember don't be late Friday at eight i loved going to the wick i only went twice a year bur silver (senior) put on a great night. Now i hope he gets Rye involved in whatever the plans are but whatever happens Len would be up there with the the great promoters Fearmans, Thomas, ect)
  19. Why is Morris the odvious choice? he has not won anything yet he talks well.Saying that for me it is not all about winning silverware that makes the difference who do i think would be the best English manager. For me Rossiter is the odvious choice paid his dues, mascot, rider, team manager been involved in speedway all his life deserves his chance a bloody hard job though.
  20. DId you think we just had to turn up to beat Latvia? Just except it at the moment we are not good anough is Morris a messiah no.Myself i dont feel he has done anywhere near anough to get the job no one around to challenge him i suppose Rossiter would be my choice.
  21. Wolves and Coventry( i have seen 7 British finals at Coventry i hated it gaters paradise now at Wolves i would never have it there either .Sheffield (prepared top class )Somerset,Scunny, Workington all better race strips it won't happen though it will stay at Wolves.
  22. I thought Eddie took far to much unwarranted stick on here uncalled for in my book.It was the same with Simon Stead,Eddie was inconsistent but lack of meetings for him did not help and overall did a decent job if he is included in our plans i for one will support him.
  23. I cannot even compare Hans to Leigh no comparison in my eyes, for me he is not the force of old.I was often disappointed with his away form at home he was superb.I wanted Zagar back originally KIldemand now can kick on and now be a in/out no 1.
  24. I know the AGM meeting is coming up soon, but i am amazed that with the big decisions needed why are we still totally in the dark.? This sport well we all know it does not help itself never has but i hope the odvious big decisions are made quickly for the better or for the worse.!
