You are so right, in our day riders rode second halves gained experience now it is a different world.I don't want Daryl riding for peanuts he is getting better hopefully keep improving if he is in the no 7 birth they're be no bigger cheerer than me as long as he does what he feels is best for himself.

KIldemand reminds me a bit of of when Iversen was at Newport,i really rated Iversen but my swindon mates kept telling me Gjedde was better.Killer what did he average at Worky 6.80? has improved is really exciting to watch he will be a GP rider eventually i hope so it is so hard to do though fingers crossed SwIndon,s 2014 no 1!( Batch close)

Yep totally agree if Ritchings is fit give him a chance to follow in the footsteps of Crash, Kilb, Keeno, and Malc.
-
Depends if he loses 6 to 10 meeting,s before he is fixed up then he is on the catch up mode to his earning's.If everything sorts itself out and Nick can go and ride and show us what he is about then that will be great but he needs to ride i would imagine 70 meeting,s.?

Sorry i am mistaken i thought you were the big supporter of him? i opologize. -
But they have a top tail, this year the reserves we all know are hit and miss most reserves will in a way have they're own mini tournament. That is most of they're goals is to beat they're own level ok Newman is an exception(why?) they are important the reserves but they're will be changes no doubt throughout the year.

You didn't put Bast in your calculations "Gustix" as a top 20 of all time did you.? -
Forget the pairs team events, Lee had a better world final record than Collins, he had six finals he was on the rostrum x2 a winner once and a fourth place.Collins had eight appearances a winner once ( very unlucky in 77) but Lee was unlucky in 83 i believe he was the best rider in the world that year on stats Lee is the better in my book.Certainly on the WF record also i know Lee was finished after 83 but he was up there easily with Nielsen,Erik,Sigalos, Penhall a new generation Peter was finished really by 80/81as a possible winner.

Penhall was the better rider end of, in this meeting mixed it well was competetive.Within three years he could of won the final i believe he was the bookies favourite in Lee's year Bast would of never been at that level i am convinced but he was a very good rider. -
I don't believe many teams will base there season on what there reserves do, say at Swindon if they have Bates and Worrall who is the better.?If they beat they're own level and maybe get a point or to on merit off a second string they would of more than done there job.

Was Penhall,s Retirement The Start Of The Decline In Speedway.?
stratton replied to stratton's topic in Years Gone By
Carter was so unlucky and who knows thing's could of turned out so differently for him. It was 50/50 but Penhall was very lucky he got the call no doubt about that, that incident was on a par with the Nielsen/Knudsen incident in 86. -

He never really beat a top field, top of there game when he won the USA national championships in the late seventies 79/1980? Autrey had his dispute i think it ruled him out until 1980 Autrey he qualified i believe for the Overseas Final at white city in 1980. I went to White city in 77 Penhall rode(was competetive) Bast looked totally out of his depth he said he did not get anough practice maybe he didnt but i did exspect him to qualify that day was disappointed with his performance. -

Was talented no doubt ,always had good aquipment, and i believe he would of done well. I think if he had gone to say Wimbledon he would of done ok but he was not confident anough in his own ability to come out of his comfort zone.No comparison really between himself and Autrey and others who come over and proved themselves in World speedway. -
Spot on Wilkinson and Young would be in amongst the greats.
-
All legends in my book and everyone have there own opinions on who were the better. But just going on stats and records in world finals this is what order the Brits would come out in.1.Craven. 10 appearances winner in 55 and 62 on the rostrum twice in 57 and 60 and fourth twice. 2.Williams 4 appearances winner in 50 and 53 also second in 52. 3.Lee. 6 appearances winner in 80 on the rostrum in 79 and 83 and fourth once in 77. 4.Collins. 8 appearances winner in 76, also second in 77. 5.Price. 4 appearances winner in 49. 6.Parker. 6 appearances Second in 49 and fourth in 37. 7.Kitchen. 3 appearances

I don't disagree with you having opinion at all but why? would you say in the first place NOT the brightest spark hardly complimentary is it also you don't even know the bloke. Also i don't dislike Morris as i know he is well respected but he has done nothing yet to get the job.I hardly ever agree with you but I respect your opinion, but my bug bearer with you is what you said also you might not be a Middleditch fan but again you were disrespectful maybe you could of worded things differently that's all i am saying.

I have changed my mind WK, double points have to stay! no only joking i hate it as much as you do. -
You are so patronising it is unbelievable, what gives you the right to say that about Rossiter do you know him?.I am not a great mate of his but he is nobodies fool as for Middlo( not Muddlo again uncalled for). You don't win what he has by being a mug, captains are important of course but like Oliver,Adams a few examples greats of the past you need a balance experience, respect, and the most important thing listening sometimes. As for Morris what has he done? he seems ok no more than that and if what you say is true you don't always have to stamp your authority to be successful.
-
Addio you seem a decent chap but you are totally wrong about Middleditch you seem to have a grievance against him? If you get totally crucified on TWITTER or whatever would you not react ? ok he might of been wrong but some of the abuse was uncalled for (will Rosco get the same). He could of done thing,s different but Middleditch i know from people i respect have told me he is a decent chap i met met him once in the 80s and he was a nice bloke since he has gone into management my respect has never dwindled.Talks a good fight is a nonsense statement, total rubbish he is not that sort of bloke i don't know him but do you know him personally.?
-
So frustrating Starman F..k the health and safety local residents having to much clout noise curfews ( ect) Why can't our riders practice at least three times in a week it really bugs me, Scunny do it young riders get a go the curfew laws over here are a joke unless that changes i don't believe thing,s will ever change.
-
I won't judge Rossiter on beating Neil, i will judge him on what he does longterm can he leave a legacy when he has gone.
-
Is that your goal? to beat them or other minor nations? have you no real long term vision? If we keep on plodding on doing what we doing we will never PROGRESS.
-
You are happy to beat those two are you not? are you willing to rebuild have a different structure a different way of thinking of the last 5 years.?
