You say Auty is a liability and dangerous a tad strong in my opinion!if so is Pedersen? is FIsher? is KIldemand ? (i have seen him at times totally out of control.I am bias i am a big fan of Auty,and i believe he should of been excluded from the first staging of the race not that he did anything badly wrong. But he mistimed his manoeuvre Auty the way he rides is hit/ miss his pass early on this year on Stead ( who had been flying) was sublime but in racing there is a risk that is why I believe Josh is such an exciting rider to watch.What i am saying Gavan is the Scunny fans no more than anyone if Josh is a liability, i think most would say not and he is a one hundred per racer no malice total 100 per cent commitment i can't ask anymore than that.

At his best i think he is certainly a top eight rider in the World.

Slick as a board Waihe,i think Crump struggled scored about 8 i think. I never enjoyed the racing at White City see Penhall/Bast ride in 77 see Lee win his commonwealth titles (ect) and the USA win in 82 when Autrey was only reserve.

No Daveallan will, i went Sigalos beat Nielsen from the back in the run off at White City a great day out.

I agree Gresh, the rules are a big bug bearer for me they should be simple TRANPARENT.Every club wants to win but the PRODUCT has to be the priority it is an entertainment after all.

But Auty was left high and dry himself last year.

Central he rode in the NL,so he had to be MEDIOCRE na only joking Central.!!!

We all knew that Sam it is not rocket science, but he did not start out as a full time BL rider did he? unlike say a Kelvin Tatum and a Jeremy Doncaster. At 16 Witcher,Lee averaged over 9 points a meeting he as far as i know had done just interval rides aged 14/15 around Lynn and some training tracks some up north as well.He averaged 9 because he was exceptional so was Collins Carter they did great also.Those three did not post averages like Louis,P.Crump, Sansom, in the old div 2 why? because it was hard.Those three were ambitious wanted to move up and to be fair Littlechild/. Crane, Oliver,Boothroyd all great speedway men mapped there careers out for them.The majority of the good riders in the old NL DID not move up, they stayed doing what there comfort zone told them also why not they were loved and made a decent living riding at certain clubs.

I would say tyler put you right on Maxfield Owen ( ect averages also Yeates up to now has achieved more than the riders you named by reaching the overseas final.Did you see that BRiTiSH FINAL line up supplied by Tyler even you have to acknowledge it was a very good line up.Give Witcher a text and maybe you could tell him about some of the riders because he is struggling 1990 onwards is his game. I only went to Bristol twice, the first meeting the big Daily Mirror meeting ( the track was sandy) and against Swindon both had brilliant gates the Mirror meeting had a huge crowd.

Why can't they go and do there business elsewhere a sh...y business.

Bit of a TIP!!! i went there alot and i really enjoyed the racing the shape was decent and racing great unless it was a dust bowl slick.I remember in 1980 when Reading were champions, i went there and the Robins won i can remember there being a massive scuffle with Briggo and Steve Gresham.This after Tony Briggs was brought down by Milan Spinka, Gresh got the blame great days they were.

This post is a very good one, very interesting indeed, i tell you what that British Final was a half decent final a great achievement by Yeates as a NL rider to qualify.I can also remember seeing Wiggy ride in the 1982 british Final as a NL rider,acquitted himself well and went on and have a great career still missed.!. It was only div 2 " Norbold" so it had to be easy, Na only joking a great rider how great it is in sport to still have a chance for the underdog.I wish it still applied now, at one time every rider could have his dream and enter the WC those days have gone.

A freebie meeting at Cardiff for Cook where lets be honest the racing is average at best Cardiff is a event the racing poor allso he failed badly the year before Auty looked better.Yeates do your RESEARCH he scored 2 in the Overseas Final i went i saw his journey through getting through a tough British Final that year as a NL rider.I appreciate you would not know that as i think you saw zilch of the old NL racing my OPINION only as you have yours.

One person did say that the old NL was full of MEDIOCRE riders and JOURNEYMAN and as it was Div 2 so it had to be EASY and it was a was a poor relation.That person was WItcher that statement was the one i hated totally untrue and everybody else have come up with great debate and put there case well you included.I don't agree with what you said about Yeates that year reaching the OVERSEAS Final outweighs anything the riders you named have achieved in there careers up to now.In the EL Ward,Puk,Doyle Janowski are the only in/out number 1s in my opinion.
