  1. I don't agree with tha GC even though you have a great case i could not see him dominating even though he did raise the standard and took speedway to a new professional level.I don't think he would of won six titles with the GP system in place also how would he have coped with the new tape rule.?He was a great rider but for me i could not see Ivan dominating a GP series like say Hans would of Nielsen to me could of won at least 6 to 8 titles.
  2. I for one think Phil Rising is in impossible position, whatever he does on this forum and 99 per cent of it is good he gets stick.Makes me wonder why he bothers to be honest,he gives alot of relevant imformation which has been helpful to alot of people on here.
  3. With the scoring would Mauger have been a certainty in some years? i am not so sure i think he was brilliant in the intense one/off meeting's.
  4. I think 1971, 72, 73, 74, he would of had a squeak at least a rostrum place with the old scoring system in place i could of seen him being there abouts.Mauger,Michanek, for me were two of the main men then, he was on a par with those. Also in today's format god how many semi/ finals would he of reached? loads of them i believe. In my time Nielsen is the only rider for me for a period with the format in place now that could of dominated the series he would of won more than four titles.
  5. Cant have Ricko as a better all round rider certainly not in the leagues. Also i was never a Hans fan, i see quite alot of him and if i am honest he could of won 8 titles he was exceptional.I would put Olsen in front of Ricko and i believe Olsen would of excelled in a GP Series in certain years a rider who put bums on seats.
  6. Where is Artem Laguta in the 40s? a very interesting read eaces1".Have we a system drawn up of the 70s and 80s? would love the 60s as well but i presume we would only have records from 65.?
  7. Olsen should of won Four or five titles he was that good, did not do badly i suppose.People i speak to dont really put him near the all time top ten i do.
  8. If Laguta was in the series, if he reached the semis he would be a danger to everyone. He is capable of beating anybody and on the big stage, be great if he and Emil could be in the series i don't think it will happen though.
  9. Certainly top eight i have him in front of Hans and Erik,a great rider could gate could pass was an excellent team man team rider what a brilliant race style he had. I agree with that, but he was truely a great rider.
  10. Top four Arson,no what i would say is there are not many riders who could produce that brilliance around at the moment. He reminded me of a peak Gollob, can't understand why he has struggled a bit in Sweden maybe machinery issues who knows.
  11. I agree Ove, i love Laguta he is for me easily a top six rider in the world at his best,he can do /beat Emil not many can but his consistency is the problem.
  12. For me he has led by example, has looked for his partner as well the frightening thing is he has not been at his best yet i hope he saves that for Melbourne!
  13. I was the same wanted to read it,but the silly prices on amazon i just did not bother picked my copy up for 9 pound on ebay read it at work in three days a great read.I enjoyed it but would still put the Lee,Booey, Jansson books on a par easily but in the Kenny book it told me stuff i would of never known about.
  14. Really rate him a nice lad also one of my friends said to me is he tough anough?i think he is he has alot of class. Heard Tai on Talksport and really did speedway a favour a bubbly character was great value.Does alot for charity and if you needed someone to sell speedway he would be your man.
  15. He was a deserving champion and i hope he goes on and wins another five titles, for me it is not just his riding ability its his personality and as a world champion speedway are very lucky.I don't know what you think but with Tai,Emil,Darcy,Magic,Pawlicki Jnr around this looks a very strong era indeed i just hope Emil/Darcy can get in the series.
  16. He might stay at Swindon? and like Adams what a treat it is to see Ward ride a pity there are not that many home meeting's left.
  17. Ward is class, Briggo what a champion a legend a real racer mr excitement like Ward i am proud to see both of them ride for the budgies.
  18. Pity you do not see a bit more live speedway then maybe i would take you a bit more seriously.!Also i can't ever remember you saying Woffinden was deserving of a free card in the GPs i never heard you having a resounding confidence in his ability.
  19. What a great away win,i thought maybe being competetive and keeping it close if we get a point i would be more than happy. Some clowns on this forum doubting Rosco said getting Ward was rIsky what a joke Howarth was unlucky but we would not of got this result a month ago.Ward again was great but had a 5.1 reversal in heat 1 but he leads from example a no 1 we have not had for a few years since Leigh.!
  20. When Tai won the title how many of us believed Emil would of gone on and won the title ?I think he would of if not for injury, but that is speedway the ups/ downs of this tough sport Tai also has had his fair share of injuries to.Ward is on par with them as a rider, but as a complete package/ team around him the jury is still out wouldnt it be great to have Tai,Emil,Darcy,Magic, young Pawlicki going for the title all at there best.
  21. A half decent meeting tonight, Kennett,Ellis great value AJ (sublime in heat 1) he passed Ward fromt the back. Also what was really worrying was Ward i felt rode pretty average to his mega standards he scored but he made mistakes. But in the last race he was really on it , stepped up god knows how many gears this bloke is a class act.
  22. Because you like him does not come into it,your opinion of Ward is totally blinkered and it would not be so bad if you knew the bloke personally. His background what has that got to do with it ( Lindback) TYSON had a horrific background but i did not hear to much sympathy for him branded a thug at every opportunity. It is great you like Lindback i do to but all i am saying is Ward should be judged from now on if he messes up then he will have to face the music. I respect Middlo Ove, and i think there are alot of people in speedway who would agree. The ones i know in speedway all like him so that will do for me but you know i RESPECT your view as always.
  23. Not really forgive one forgive the other move on what is the difference? also i will get slated for this .All this rubbish about Ward getting rid of Middlo as a part of his team helping him is total garbage. Darcy has made mistakes he made them not Middlo, Ward willl always have him as a mate and it is great that he will always look out for him.And to be honest Neil's only mistake is responding to clowns like you on twitter (ect) which is why this forum is not taken seriously by the speedway authorities.
  24. Unreal Lindback i like alot and i hope he gets in the series and gets back on track. It is really nice people are sympathetic towards him i am,but the crap Ward got in the last year and is still getting now in comparison to Antonio is a joke.
  25. Great news i hope it happens 100 pound from 1000 people, surely that is possible fingers crossed.
