Totally right,league speedway is crumbling around us, gps run the show.Wheres the money made going i dont see it going back into british league speedway.

Youve seen both sides of it,gps isnt everyones cup of tea one off finals never failed in my eyes anyway.people always harp on about one off finals unfair ect.Watched one gp this year think Crump had 5 wins then he got unlucky in the semi was out.That shows there are things wrong with the gps.

Be great if we could,the underdog will then be able to take his chance.No reason why not.

Why are most comments about Bridger negative, i think he always puts on a good show good value cant understand it any reason?

Ungifted would not even be mentioned near briggs. 18 world finals, 4 world titles, 6 british titles,6 b.l.r.c, 3.m.r.c endless other titles. Great post,i didnt no about Kenny and not having a mechanic but everything else spot on really.Talent/natural,a hard subject really speculative.after craven,collins, lee, in a group in which you place at your choice [ie] simmons, louis,morton, wilson ,boocock, ashby,ect but in front of tatum doncaster screen ect] .only see carter in his 2 b.l.r.c wins which he was terrific at hyde rd but to place him with chris high praise indeed because morton was terrific there.

your opinion,and i respect it but what ive learned from people involved in speedway. How many times people have said he only won that because he had quick bikes.You have got to be really talented to ride quick bikes there is a talent in it.That grit and determination you talked about, wouldnt of been anough without talent not anough.Mike lee said as much on his dvd asked a question about carter you have got to have skill to ride at speed.Did say without being nasty that carter would have to win at any cost.i liked joe screen very much still do,even thou as a youngster i preferred martin dugard.But if there was a poll with 100 people, who was the better rider [talent accomplishments whatever combined]Carter or Screen i think i no who would get more votes.only my opinion thou.

Without money you cant even have a crack at the world championship.This is what Parsloes has said,a level playing field you could be the most talented speedway rider out there without backing moneywise forget it.As for riders earning loads dunno about that either some of the top stars[maybe deserve it] some other levels below that must be hard to make it pay.

Sorry if i waffled,jist of it was is speedway as a whole benefiting from the gp series,the organisers are .As far as i can see the riders are not getting the rewards they deserve.

I would be very surprised exspecially in 1981,if that was the gate?Because in there history page it says they could of at one time got 110 thousand in there?If the gate had only been 50000, surely there would of been empty gaps all over the place i remember it packed and humming. If wrong i am sorry,one of the greatest days i have ever been to 1975 was good as well even thou the dust and lighting tried to spoil it special days.

I enjoy watching Gollob,Crump,[idmire both] Greg well shows good blokes can win and get there rewards.Enjoy watching ward speedways lucky to have him.I hope he forgets the gps this year and just enjoys his speedway.

I no we will never no say Cardiff,are individuaels just making a healthy return and none of it going back into speedway grass roots ect.I no its always been a issue, even Briggo said before 72 final prize money was a joke.In this day and age riders should be getting more they are providing us with the entertainment.I just did not realize,how much little return the riders got hence maybe why ward will not ride in the gps.Darcy noes he will ride only for so long[god forbid no injuries]and has to earn to as and when he isnt a speedway rider.So if you asked darcy either win the world championship go into history but earn hardly anything.Or do what hes doing now for a long period and have something for his future.what would i do ?ambitsion win titles earn little or just earn and have a nest egg. the latter for me difficult.

Was you there Penhall final 1981? 92000 fans dont think it was dying on its feet do you.I think you are blinkered ,the organisers might be making good money the riders certainly are not.Not getting the rewards they deserve the gpseries if you look at it is not in great shape.You said taking it into the modern world i thought the riders would be making fortunes out of it which they deserve in my opinion.Dont pretend everything is rosy because it is not also i think alot of people who like the gps didnt even watch one off finals.The words that stays with me are THE ORGANISERS ARE MAKING MONEY but is speedway going forward and riders getting the money they deserve NO.

I didnt realise Dave ,about the joke money in the gps you no more than me travelling ect costs ect.The money on offer pittance it just shows me the gp series is in a very dangerous position at the moment.whats worrying is that total energy since 1995 has gone into the gps [sod the elite league standard for me quite poor]and the series is not that strong financially.Greg being a great champion, should reape the financial rewards deserves it but is it that rewarding in comparrison to other sports.?Going back to ward, i think he wants to be on a sound footing team wise costs well frightening if you add it all up.And if you ride your? off for a 8 month period he deserves to make a profit dosent he.Unless he gets help money wise for Darcy to realise a dream of being world champion is going to cost him money alot of it.

The most ridiculous post ever, you dont no wards reasons finance?Ive mentioned it before Ward is a terrific rider.His choice ,keep saying about oh he didnt qualify Speedway needs the wards of this world because there is a lack of general quality world wide coming through.You would have to be stevie wonder to say he shouldnt be in the gps.anyway darcys call maybe he hasnt the set up yet.Why are some people negative towards him?one of a few riders i would pay just to see him ride.

I think there are people, on this forum who are passionate about speedway who want only the best for the sport which is great.Hope your rite impartial one the future is good for the sport.There is hope, remember about 3 years ago went and see swindon v belle vue with a mate and see Leigh adams beat Jason Crump 2.1.Jason got Leigh from the back in there third race.Came home thinking how privalaliged i was to have seen 2 great riders in terrific battles and the sport has a lot going for it.Still enjoy going now , i no i do it but i dont want to keep harping about the good old days.There gone now and hopefully the sport will prosper.

Im for that Grachan be great wouldnt it, i do see Parsloes point thou.I see his opinion and i respect that and he has made good points.Does it matter whoes right or wrong dosent to me but there does appear to be a ganging up culture on this forum.Maybe i am wrong on that matter to if so i opologise.Parsloes odviously loves the old system, as do i ive excepted that its gps all the way now and those days are gone for ever.I do think there could be changes made dont no what i personally sometimes get bored with gps dont want us to exhaust the gp series.I never will be blinkered in to thinking everything is rosy because it isnt.Are british leagues are struggling quality and financially wise and at the moment the gps are covering over the cracks but for how long?
