  1. Chunky no what have you done? Moore was quality full stop chunky have you the averages from 1955-1965 need em for my collection thanks.
  2. What do people exspect Glanz to average? Rode last year in Demark i think he will average over 6?
  3. Dont mention Buzz Burrows Iris was a big Malc Holloway fan and in Malcs later career had great races with Buzz see a few.Ronnie i only see twice wish i had seen him more times .Watched him on the you tube interview with Briggo i was engrossed 2 great legends talking Ronnie so laid back not a bighead levelheaded so calm.Briggo was great also in the interview new how important Ronnie was to his career.Moore got 2 titles a legend did amaze me how calm and laid back he was.
  4. Thanks Norbold learned a bit more, pictures i have of Fundin Norwich [ ec ] indicated he rode the line alot.He didnt win titles by doing just that like you said.Could Craven gate? or a in out racer i dont really know looking back Norbold that was a mega strong era great champions hardly mentioning UNDERMENTIONED great Ronnie Moore.
  5. Maybe i am wrong Norbold, was this because Fundin was a white liner? (hard with it)At hyde rd Craven regularly beat Fundin there as we know a white liner whould struggle at the big wide Hyde Rd.
  6. Great post Rob do you think Briggo would of won the same? 4 ?you are right about Craven 10 finals his record looks very inconsistent that always puzzed me.Also with Peter he didnt look a world beater when he first started out at Liverpool was that because he was a relative novice? Fundin certainly would of won more titles Rob can you tell me how i can get the stats for top AVERAGES (1955-65) ? i need them for my collection.
  7. He never quite did it was good anough we all know that whoe,s to say he wouldnt of won a one off final..In his era i could only put Rickardsson Gollob, Crump Hancock in front of Leigh but those four were anough to stop him winning a title.Inc Pedersen as well thats your reason why he didnt win it.Leigh was very consistent still in the gps maybe he wasnt good anough who knows.
  8. Are Ipswich not worried they might lose Tungate and Heeps? as they are not tied down to long term contracts.Hope not hope they ride the next 10 years for the witches.
  9. Agree it so annoys me Parker looks to have a great line up i like Shane dont get me wrong and i hope his day goes well. But Bob was a special person to the robins history and he deserves a great line up too anyway i hope its a great meeting for Bob and his family.
  10. Grachan when i looked through the years what the results would of been if it had been the gps i give Briggo 6 titles. Ashby was class, no doubt about it Briggo helped Martin in the1972 blrc at Belle vue made him believe in himself nearly won it.I think Briggoe,s overall head to head with Mauger he came out on top i dont know about Fundin i know there was a fierce rivary between them..
  11. Falcace i think you could name another 180 if you needed to? cant wait to hear a response from Speedyguy.?
  12. Speedyguy who out of the cream, thats been named is Bast better than.?Dont get me wrong i liked Bast he was talented or was it natural? whatever.
  13. Agree with all Falcace T. Jansson, Williams,Farndon Warren ,Sigalos,S.Moran that is my elite of all time.Bast i dont think would get in my top 50.
  14. A great at Costa Mesa thats it, Graham Warren for me.
  15. Frustrates the hell out of me to think the board/ and Eglese finished Mike,s career.Only aged 25/26 he was up there certainly in the top 5 at the time that performance at blunsdon was awesome to beat Phil .He is certainly when on his game the quickest rider i ever see.
  16. Are riders now a days as skilful at handling deep tracks as years ago?Remember at kings lynn in the world cup recently was deep and some riders struggled and got out of shape.? Credit where it is due that period you said Rob 85/89 i saw about nearly 2 full seasons of him. There the new grandstand was lush,so it was a good friday night out.Hans i was not a fan, didnt dislike him as a person maybe he was like Steve Davis was for 10 years to good.Changed my mind about him, remember seeing him in the IVAN farewell 6 in race at hyde rd he was hammering round there. He was exciting to watch and later went on and won a BLRC.And i was wrong yet again i said he would never win that meeting there as long as it was at hyde rd.
  17. Thats just progress i suppose, the more you put in the more you get out any little advantage helps. My theory is and Briggo has said that now sometimes there is only one line at certain tracks because of the speed being quicker harder to pass. There were riders who years ago were near novices very raw but went on and made a career for themselves.Does it happen now i have my doubts if so not very often.
  18. No because if so, you are watching a different sport to me.
  19. Wasnt worried about the exact figure just saying about the quality of opposition alot inferior. Also some magazines ,year books ect do differ sometimes in figures averages you are the stats man so is accurate i know.1990 Hans should of won it was the best rider, 1986 should not of very very lucky in the Knudsen incident swings and roundabouts i suppose.
  20. Even if there was no limit is the quality there not sure? The only way it would be stronger if you had the likes of Screen Ashworth that sort of quality regularly at reserve rather than riders woefully out of there depth.
  21. I am not convinced we need 42.5? because of the lack of depth of quality around? If it was a squad system then thats different.
  22. Sheffield did also have a good away record in 73 won at Reading ( no Lovass).Reading though amazingly won ten away that year in the league.
