Your right Oldace but after 1980 Gothenberg you would of thought he would of gone downhill.But from Norden he seemed to up his game somewhat i took notice because i was a Phil Crump fan and were rivals.In Norden i felt Lee and Sanders were the two to beat Muller and Sanders gated him and should of been tougher on him.As you say all in hindsight i have my memories and regurlarly watch the best pairs dvd where Billy was awesome.

Good post, Sanders record i believe was very good people i speak to it is usually 50/50 split in opinion some yes some no.At the time of his death he was riding as well as most and i believe would of been a threat to Nielsen and Gundersen certainly until at least 1990.Would love to here what John Berry thinks as he knew more than anyone.Billy at world level was not that consistent but until his death had really got that consistency into his racing a outstanding rider.

Olsen won 3 titles and with a bit of luck could of had more in1972 Ole and Briggo were the best on view(Briggo very unlucky). But Other years 73 ,74, 77, 79 he had big chances fell short but he was consistent for a long period. CONSISTENTLY in a mega strong B.L he registered these figures 1969- Newcastle 10.39 Wolves 1970- 10.25 1971-10.99 1972- 11.39 1973-10.82 1974- 11.39 1975- 10.79 Coventry 1976- 11.05 1977- 10.52 1978- 10.56 not bad is it?.Even when past his best up until his retirement in 1983 was averaging well over 9 points.With his ranking i would agree with all of them which you named would have Olsen in front of Nielsen

Be nice Oldace if people who saw Ole regular more than you and i could comment.Hasse i respect his opinion as he has seen Ole regular what a treat that must of been.For me also Ole was a suberb team man a great captain got loads of points out of others over the years ex) Shirra Guglielmi a great motivator and on tv with Newbon was great for speedway.

Hasse i never watched Ole as much as you but i see quite alot of him but if i was betting my last pound on a best of 20 races Ole would beat him no doubt in my mind.Go on you tube and watch Ole take Collins from the back in the BLRC at hyde rd.At that time PC was awesome there and nearly unbeatable.The thing with Olsen was he would of took no messing from Pedersen ? was ruthless and as a rider could do anything.Also if Nicki was quick in front then how quick was Olsen?Cant take nothing away from Pedersen his achievements outstanding better than Olsen No.

I think it is just a bit of fun and peoples opinions differ so much,who is right?nobody just opinions when judging do you go on achievements or actual riding ability.On all the posts i wouldnt disagree with any of them because people may of seen more of certain riders than others Chunky is right Banger Jansson would certainly be high up in the list of Swedes.

Races i admire you with Nielsen as we have had great debate over him.Myself i was wrong i think i watched him quite regular for a 3 year period he was a machine,Hagonshocker me mate saw more of him than me but Olsen in my own mind was better Erik was debatable i think Hans and erik remind me of Tyson and Holyfield trilogy in boxing Tyson by far the better fighter but Evander had his number?Erik did he have Han,s number? Nielsens record speaks for itself and after big disapointments came back what a mega mental capacity.to do that.Just feel Hans would not of dominated Penhall Lee maybe Shawn(what a rider) and Erik at there peak certainly all of those had great head to head records with him.Crump senior a legend him and Sanders would defo be in the ten.(Races are you saying i am bias towards Crump senior. ?

I dont compare Nicki to Niels but in the series Pedersen has had loads of second chances ok a terrific rider he has won 3 titles.But in history he wont go down high up because of the way he does things incidents galore.Ok win do you have to win at all costs?
