  1. Was that 1965? Four performances at the abbey that i think were great performances.1.Eric Boocock (1974) a reserve ? For Halifax 14 pts Crash beat him? 2. Finn Thomsen (a oversized engine) ? was awesome 19 pts ? I think 3. SIgalos ( a 15? Max from reserve ( never met Kilby) and Jankowski for the hawks a max.
  2. He did and you are right we all know the USA and AUSTRALIAN rounds were brutal and unfair. But then on the other hand Mark Loram won a world title without winning a round so has the GP Series always been fair?In saying that i was a big Loram fan and he won it having knowing what the rules were.
  3. Is that also true now? not every underdog gets the chance too compete! as we know it is a bit of a closed shop very hard too gatecrash ask NKI.
  4. Ivan lost that title in1973, through his own mistake swings and roundabouts really, no one ever says that Ivan was very lucky in 1972 he was! Briggs crash and also Olsen,s fall gifted him the title but that was the beauty of the one off final.Out of the years of the one off finals mostly the right riders won maybe not always in the right year?.I went to Norden Muller was the best rider on the day no doubt about it Lee and Sanders had there chances but didn't take them.
  5. Knutsson was often overlooked, for me like Ronnie Moore right up there with the best.I think Olsen was the best rider i see after Briggo Mauger certainly up there too.Recent years i would put Crump top of the pile, as for Holder often underrated and at this time in front of Ward and i believe he will win another world title.
  6. Muller thou was understated, a class speedway rider who had ample practice time at Norden. For me Lee should of won his second title messed up but really Billy the kid could of won it Egon muller was a class act like Wiggy a great overall motorcyclist.!
  7. Great post Briggo was a legend, i first went with my uncle and he always said Briggo had to come from the back he said often on the handicap Mark. But when i see him he gated quite well but the best for me didnt see lots of him but he to me was mr excitement also a class man autographs having time for fans the best for me LEGEND.
  8. Scunny for me are favourites for the PL , a really good line up no big changes but they are the team to beat.Josh , Howe toft jorgensen BIrks loads of improvement Douglas I think is a class act also I believe at Sheffield koppe will do well the minimum he will be exciting too watch.!
  9. A decent signing Eddie Kennett, a big year for him he is very good at blunsdon away he will be a asset am confident he will average 7.30 minimum might average more good luck Eddie.
  10. Thommo Garrad, Hughie, Fiala, Hubbard,Woods,Goodwin.
  11. Ent been on for a while , mind you the crap you you come out with av a rest mate!!
  12. BIrks I see him a couple of times. last year , impressed me i think he will improve i am really happy.Has to do it but he has ability also he can gate and if he can score 3 or 4 points done a job. I think they're should be a compulsory rule that every club should have a Brit Howarth, BIrks a example in in maybe on a 3.00 average.
  13. Koppe will be decent, if you have done your research? has beaten Auty ,Josh,G in Australia looks exciting a real racer.I think Owlerton will suit him bigtime he is a exciting rider i have only noticed him because I am a big fan of Josh Auty and followed his progress plus his dad was a well good rider he had a great career.K
  14. Matt what are you on about? A good looking start to a team maybe ER is right? Wouldn't object. 50'pts be nice to have that but most people would be able to pick a robins side under 43 where your 50 figure come from god knows!!
  15. If the silly double points rule is not changed, surely it will be (wouldn't hold my breath) would Swindon consider a top heavy side. What I mean if they had 3 and a half heat leaders we will always be good at home or would fans not want that.?By saying this this years side was a terrific 1 to 7 even Robin was really good and later Frank.Just think to do that again with a 1 to 7 solid is a big ask and relying on no injuries.
  16. I like Harris, and if he came to Swindon, he would do well maybe i am wrong but i didn't always think Hans was great away.At home he was outstanding a great captain, Harris i have watched since Trelawney and have always enjoyed watching him ride if he could get his equipment sorted he will be fine. The good thing for me is the riders that are banded about i like all of them Hans, Rory,Bomber, (Batch i certainly want back as he will push on) so in a way who ever is chosen it wouldn't bother me either way.Cook though could be another worth a thought on a low average has bags of potential.
  17. Maybe you are right? he has never struck me as a softee thou can mix it.Also his record in the EL is good but he has real ability very quick IVERSEN is the presedent it can be done he is a fine example don't give up.
  18. Avtar have you a opinion? If not don't bother rather immature!
  19. I think Schlein and Batch are at the same stage, both have the ability to get in the Gps.They need to push on now in Rory'ies case he has been so unlucky with injuries also Rosco gets on well with him so maybe that could give us a edge.
  20. Dont want loads of changes, but i would love us to sign Schlein he could put at least a point on his average if not more.Could average 9.5 at home at his best.Rory Batch, and PK as heat leaders? improvement in all of them.
  21. Friddy believe me if Sheffield go to Sunday's Stead will be a in and out no 1 and they will have a chance this year they odviously never had a true no 1.Franc i don't know because of long track commitments whether he will stay hope so Hall and Haines i think could be a better year for the tigers.
  22. Iversen I believe is a top 8 rider, this year what a season he has had and next year he could get stronger. If his equipment again improves he has the talent to be a force and i think to drop out of the series but regroup and qualify on merit is a great achievement i back him to be in the the top 8 unless injured.
  23. Steady a no brainer really Shooey, Reg WIlson ,Valentine, Dougie and the Prawn at Pl level were in and out no 1s at there best very very good at Owlerton i think get Stead back they will challenge again, Haines i am chuffed has done well and will improve not all doom and gloom but the Tigers i think should be minimum top 4 every year.
  24. Is this era more at the moment about potential? some terrific talent about but SPEEDY you are right qualification (when everyone has a chance?) is everything in my opinion.
  25. At the moment with the rules the way they are and the climate why would anyone pay a big fee.?
