League Sponsorship - How Much?
stratton replied to StormMarketing's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Oldace the guy was trying to start a debate and gets abuse for his troubles does he deserve it.? If you are not interested in a subject why bother if anyone is the Wally it's you! -
DId Bach and Lawson both say they thought they were offered places?why would you leave it until January to tell them both? DId you ever hear a statement from them saying they would not go with d/uppers before a few weeks ago.
-
I didn't consider Simmo or Jessup as both were on the slide then, after both having great careers.Tatum you are right didn't ride that long but i admired him and Doncaster for going straight into the tough BL as novices and both did great.Certainly for WImbledon i would put Ross in front of Simmo and DJ.
-
Why? its my opinion, Peterborough have had problems with Iversen,Batchelor,Andersen,Bach,Lawson all i am saying could some of these issues been dealt with differently.?
-
Thats your problem no one wants to ride for you, and i would imagine in the future riders will think twice before signing for you.
-
A proper club who has paid they're dues with great support who have endured plenty of failure.I am happy to support the Robins, and it dosent matter to me whether they are our assets or not.Thats the real world, we have riders we cannot use but as someone else said speedway needs to stick together and get through these hard times.I can honestly say Peterborough have acted as though they could not give two s..t. about the sport as a whole.
-
Three of those were my favourites 'keef didn't see much of Peter not that i can remember anyway. Hitchy i was always fascinated with his inside bursts and upright riding style a very exciting rider indeed. Keen can remember like yesterday clashed with Reg Wilson once, and broke his collarbone in 1973 a double header at Blunsdon v Sheffield and Reading.
-
Was at work so didn't know Hans had signed, great news eh panther he has signed for a proper club. One more to go eh,what has your club proved the last few months lost out on NKI, Hans, and soon hopefully Batch. Some of your comments are a joke, your best bet is to go to Lynn or Mildenhall at least those clubs are run properly good luck for the new season you will need it.

Is the situation that Swindon might have to wait until March 1st? then the two riders can go out on loan.If refused Swindon can take the legal route which to be honest Peterborough haven't a prayer. Its the riders i feel sorry for as not knowing must be a hindrance to them.If Swindon lose out so be it ,i think Patch/Rosco have done the right thing for the future of the club and if we are weaker so what they have still done what they feel is right for the club longterm.
-
Back when i first started going, every team had an in and out no1 you might often only see them once a year. That was the big thing for me seeing great individual stars so every week there was something to look forward to.
-
I would not pay 10 for Hans no way i would rather have say a Zagar pay the wage and then regroup the next year. Why would you pay a fee? madness saying that if Hans stays i would be has chuffed as anyone.
-
A great post AD1974, and you have put a great case across i liked both and it is down to everyone's own opinion.Lee for me where his record holds up is that his head to head record from 1977 til 83 is very good against the best.Mauger,Olsen,Penhall,Nielsen,Gundersen,Sigalos,Moran if i hazard a guess and going through the meetings Lee,s career meetings with Collins and Jessup over the years were very close.
-
The rules will probably change next week so don't hold your breath this is British speedway we are talking about.
-
Be real this is 2013, are you nieve or what! be ahead of the game be in front assets now don't mean nothing saying that your rubbishey club have a few but still don't have a team in place.
-
A very sad day loved speedway was he a great rider YES he was very much so god bless.
-
Swindon what have they done wrong? i wouldn't pay a fee for either of them in this present climate why would you pay a fee. Also why didn't Peterborough be ahead of the game and speak to Andersen,Batch, Iversen, say in June/July because they must of known all of them were happy at there present clubs. No i go too speedway to see good racing if Swindon finish bottom so be it they have done in the past Rose tinted glasses NO in this present time we needed teams to be united but the same old story squabbling at the highest order in the so called sport of speedway.
-
If it is so annoying don't read it simples!, as for Peterborough they are a disgrace to the sport would only offer a loan for Hans and Batch.Surely if it went to court Peterborough cannot stop those two from earning a living?
-
Carter in front of Lee no way head to head Lee was in front, Carter I loved as a rider was very talented and should of had a chance of winning a championship. But Lee especially was a special talent the best I've seen aged 16 and I would say be level with PC who also was a mega talent both of them were in front of Carter but Carter was a talent no doubt about it.
-
Jason Crump one of my favourite ever riders, couldn't have him in because he only rode for 40 matches 10.50 average for that reason alone couldn't have him in front of Kilby.Same as Autrey a great rider only had the pleasure of seeing him for one season only as well.
-
What ten riders would you pick to improve there averages? here goes Mellgren,, Bellego, Barrett,KIldemand,Tungate(prem and EL) Dyer, Campton,Toft, Tabaka,Fricke.
-
On a oversized engine i believe?
-
I think Bergkamps career was pretty good, he is the best player i have seen live for the gunners.Brady was a great player Henry was a great but for me Dennis and Liam would be in front of him.
-
Brady would be for me in the top 50 players i ever see, be up there with Berkamp(the best!!) and Henry.
-
I see him about four times he was exciting i think he broke the track record in 1973 for Sweden at Swindon.I also would have to say both the Morans were dynamite Kelly at Owlerton was amazing.
